KitGuru says: At 100Hz, it falls slightly short of what we would consider the gold standard for gaming. Still, it is a very significant upgrade over a 60Hz monitor and the resolution boost will come in handy too.

MSI has recently launched two 4K gaming monitors with high refresh rates: the MSI MAG 274UPF E2 and the MSI MPG 274URF QD. Both are very similar spec-wise, with the most obvious difference being the former doesn't have Quantum Dot technology while the latter does.

The MSI MAG 274UPF E2 has a 27-inch 4K Rapid IPS display with a refresh rate of up to 160 Hz, making it an excellent choice for gamers who want smooth and lag-free gameplay. It features two HDMI 2.1 connectors, a DisplayPort 1.4 input, and a USB Type-C port capable of delivering up to 15 W of power. This monitor also has a headphone jack and supports Adaptive-Sync technology. It includes a range of gaming features such as Smart Crosshair, Optix Scope, AI Vision, Night Vision, and Console Mode, as well as VRR, ALLM, and CEC compatibility.

The display uses 8-bit+FRC colour bit depth and Wide Colour Gamut technology, covering 133% of the sRGB, 93% of the Adobe RGB, and 98% of the DCI-P3 colour space. The Rapid IPS screen offers a 0.5 ms GTG reaction time and a 1 ms MPRT. It has a 4K resolution and supports PbP and PiP. The monitor's ergonomic stand allows up to 130 mm of height adjustment, +/-30 degrees of swivel, a bi-directional pivot, and -5 to 20 degrees of tilt. Additionally, the device has TUV Rheinland certification for its flicker-free and reduced blue light solutions.

On the other hand, the MSI MPG 274URF QD is another impressive gaming monitor with a 27-inch Rapid IPS display with a 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 160 Hz. This monitor has Quantum Dot Colour technology, which offers a broader colour space coverage of 145% sRGB. It also has an 8-bit+FRC colour bit depth, 400 nits of brightness, and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. It also supports Adaptive-Sync technology and provides a range of gaming features such as Smart Crosshair, Optix Scope, AI Vision, Night Vision, and Console Mode, which supports VRR, ALLM, and CEC. This monitor also has a KVM switch and a Mystic Light Spectrumbar, distinguishing it from the MSI MAG 274UPF E2.

The MSI MPG 274URF QD offers various connection options via its USB hub, which has two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, a USB 2.0 Type-B connector, and a USB Type-C port with 65 W power delivery. It also has two HDMI 2.1 connections, a DisplayPort 1.4 input, and a headphone connector. This monitor offers the same ergonomic capabilities as the MSI MAG 274UPF E2, including up to 130 mm of height adjustment, +/-30 degrees of swivel, a bidirectional pivot, and -5 to 20 degrees of tilt.

MSI has slashed prices on a number of gaming monitors this March. Here in the UK, the MSI MEG 342C QD-OLED monitor stands out in particular, offering excellent specs, with £500 chopped off its usual price tag.

QD-OLED displays have plenty of benefits, including excellent contrast and colour accuracy, HDR performance and high refresh rates with minimal response times. If you've been wanting to pick one up but winced at the previous £1000+ price tags, then you'll be pleased to know that the MSI MEG 342C QD ultrawide gaming monitor is now down to £799 for a limited time, complete with a three-year burn-in warranty.

If you are looking to mage the jump to 4K gaming, then the MSI MAG 323UPF offers a 32-inch IPS panel with 160Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time for £499, a saving of roughly £300 from its usual price. For gamers looking to run at QHD resolution, the MSI G274QPF-QD offers exactly that, along with a 170Hz refresh rate for just £299.

If you are trying to stick to 1080p and simply need a decent, fast monitor at a reasonable price, the MSI G255PF fits the bill, coming in at £139 with a 25-inch IPS LED display with quantum-dot layer, 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response times.

These are just a few of the highlights we've spotted. You can find a full range of discounted MSI monitors on sale at Curry's, HERE.

HDR displays have been one of the growing trends in the monitor market over the last few years. We know what OLED and premium mini-LED screens can deliver, but they are still very expensive and out of reach for most mainstream consumers. Not so with the Cooler Master GP2711, however, offering a mini-LED display with 576 dimming zones, for less than £380 here in the UK. But just how well does it perform? Find out in today's review.

Cherry is launching its first gaming keyboard to feature its new MX2A switches. The Cherry XTRFY K5V2 is a compact 65% keyboard, equipped with Red MX2A switches, the latest version of Cherry's renowned mechanical switches with some key design tweaks.

The MX2A switches ship with a new spring design, changing from cylindrical to barrel geometry for near-contactless linear movement, reducing spring deformation and scratching. All MX2A switches also use a Gold Crosspoint contact system, enabling a debounce time of less than 1ms.

The Cherry XTRFY K5V2 ups the ante for RGB lighting with advanced per-key illumination alongside LED strips to enhance colours and effects further. With its compact dimensions and linear Red switches, users will reclaim some desk space and have a quieter and more responsive typing experience with durable long-lasting switches.

The keyboard comes with a solid metal plate construction and double layers of sound absorbing foam. Users will also benefit anti-ghosting, 1000Hz polling and Super Scan technology, which scans all keys every half a milisecond for increased response times for gaming. The keyboard has a detachable USB cable, so you can easily unplug it for transporting.

The Cherry XTRFY K5V2 will be available in black and Transparent White versions, and if you go through the Cherry XTRFY store, you can customise the keyboard further, including switches, key caps, logo plates and more. Prices start at $139 for the Black version and $149 for the Transparent White version.

Last year, Logitech released its G Pro X Superlight 2 wireless gaming mouse with high hopes of outperforming its 2020 model. Although considered overall better than its predecessor, its polling rate didn't match similarly priced competitors.

Logitech (via TechPowerUp) has some great news for Pro X Superlight 2 users. Their most recent G HUB software update now includes a new firmware update for the mouse that will improve the polling rate to 4KHz. After updating the firmware, you may use your existing wireless dongle to use the Superlight with a 4K polling rate by enabling it via G Hub.

A November 2023 leak had already suggested that Logitech was working on a new firmware update for the Superlight 2, which would include a 4K polling rate setting. The company has now fulfilled that promise, and users can enjoy the benefits of this significant upgrade.

In addition to adding support for a 4K polling rate to the Superlight 2, the latest G Hub update also introduces firmware updates to the G Astro A50 X, MX Brio, and MX Brio 705, as well as various bug fixes, including the issue with audio devices producing noise suddenly. Moreover, it also added support for Windows Copilot as an assignable command and introduced game profiles for:

 • Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
 • Helldivers 2
 • Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
 • Once Human
 • Palworld
 • Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
 • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
 • Tekken 8
 • The Finals
 • Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

Following several other monitor sellers, Gigabyte is the latest vendor to extend the warranty of its QD-OLED gaming displays. Like others, Gigabyte is also extending the warranty of its QD-OLED gaming monitors to three years, giving users some extra peace of mind.

After CES 2024, Asus announced an extension of its QD-OLED monitor warranty to two years, which now includes burn-in protection. Shortly after, MSI announced an upgrade to the warranty period of its QD-OLED monitors to three years, also providing protection against the OLED burn-in effect. In response, Asus had to adjust its warranty period to align with MSI's three-year coverage. Dell/Alienware has begun offering a 3-year burn-in warranty for its QD-OLED monitors as well.

Gigabyte was the only company that did not offer a three-year warranty for its QD-OLED monitors, but that has now changed with the company's recent announcement, extending the warranty of its entire QD-OLED monitor line-up to three years. Although the company does not directly mention burn-in protection, the warranty is said to offer “protection against potential panel image retention issues,” which can be interpreted as such.

The monitors eligible for the warranty extension include the Aorus CO49DQ, Aorus FO32U2P, Aorus FO32U2, Aorus FO27Q3, Aorus MO34WQC, and Aorus MO34WQC2 monitors.

AMD introduced FreeSync technology in 2015 as an alternative to Nvidia's G-Sync. Since its inception, FreeSync technology has been updated multiple times and upgraded with additional levels, including a dedicated tier for HDR displays. Recently, it received yet another update, raising the minimum requirements for monitors to be FreeSync certified.

As gaming display technology advances, AMD has chosen to upgrade the current FreeSync spec. AMD has restructured the naming scheme to make it more user-friendly and accessible for end-users while ensuring the specifications are revised appropriately.

When FreeSync technology was introduced, displays with a refresh rate of 120Hz were not common, but today, high refresh rate displays are everywhere. To keep up with the latest technology, AMD has upgraded the FreeSync specification to demand faster refresh rates. It's worth noting that while AMD has upgraded the FreeSync specifications, the modifications apply only to monitors and televisions. The company has not changed the FreeSync specifications for laptop screens. You can see the current requirements for a monitor to be FreeSync-certified below:

Certification Notebooks Monitors and TVs
FreeSync Max. Refresh Rate: 40-60 Hz < 3440 Horizontal resolution:
Max. Refresh Rate: ≥ 144 Hz
FreeSync Premium Max. Refresh Rate: ≥ 120 Hz < 3440 Horizontal resolution:
Max. Refresh Rate: ≥ 200 Hz

≥ 3440 Horizontal resolution:
Max. Refresh Rate: ≥ 120 Hz
FreeSync Premium Pro AMD FreeSync HDR on top of FreeSync Premium requirements. AMD FreeSync HDR on top of FreeSync Premium requirements.

The upgraded FreeSync specifications went live last year, but AMD has only now shared a statement regarding the changes. The minimum FreeSync specifications for 1080p displays with sub-3440 horizontal resolution have been changed to 144Hz, which was not previously a requirement for the base tier. For displays with a bigger resolution, such as 4K panels, the maximum refresh rate supported must be equal to or greater than 120Hz. Displays with sub-3440 horizontal resolution must now deliver at least 200Hz for FreeSync Premium, while Premium Pro will need to meet those requirements while also offering HDR.

The post Cooler Master GM2711S Review (1440p 180Hz) first appeared on KitGuru.]]>
Cooler Master made its name with stylish chassis and potent cooling solutions (the clue is in the company name). But like many peripheral hardware and component manufacturers, the company has diversified, and even has a console in the works in partnership with KFC, of all brands. Cooler Master has also been making gaming monitors for a few years, and one of the latest is the GM2711S. With a 180Hz refresh and affordable price, it has clear potential.

The basic specification of the GM2711S is fairly pedestrian by today's standards. This is a 27in panel with the 2560 by 1440 resolution that is the sweet spot for this screen size. The technology used is “Ultra-Speed IPS”, which claims to improve the grey-to-grey response to 2ms, where 4ms is more typical for IPS. The MPRT response is 0.5ms. We've seen a few displays offering similar IPS technology, such as the Gigabyte M27Q with its SuperSpeed system. But it's still pleasing to encounter IPS quality with better response.

The maximum brightness of 350cd/m2 and 1,000:1 contrast are typical for IPS, however. Cooler Master only promises 99 per cent sRGB colour gamut, although DCI-P3 is specified as 90 per cent and Adobe RGB 91 per cent. There's VESA Display HDR400 support for gaming and media, which again is something we would expect. That just leaves the 180Hz refresh, which is ahead of most 27in screens with this resolution. Cooler Master partners this with “Adaptive Sync”, without saying whether this is compatible with AMD or NVIDIA graphics (it wouldn't be much use if it wasn't, though).

There's a fairly typical array of video inputs, including two HDMI 2.0 and one DisplayPort 1.4. The monitor has built-in stereo 2W speakers and a 3.5mm minijack audio output. However, there's another 3.5mm minijack for a headset, including microphone. The latter is driven via a USB Type B hub connection, but you only get one additional USB 2.0 port for attaching peripherals. Ergonomic adjustments are comprehensive, including tilt, raising, swivel and rotating into portrait orientation.

With all of this available for a reasonable £265, the GM2711S has potential as a mainstream gaming screen. Read on to find out if it delivers on its promise.

Specification:

 • Screen size: 27-inch, 16:9 aspect
 • Native resolution: 2,560 x 1,440
 • Curvature: None
 • Refresh rate: 180Hz, Adaptive Sync
 • Panel type: Ultra-Speed IPS
 • Contrast ratio: 1,000:1 (typical)
 • Brightness: 350cd/m2
 • Response time: 0.5ms MPRT, 2ms grey-to-grey

Gigabyte has shared more details on the upcoming Aorus F032UP2 QD-OLED gaming monitor. What makes this monitor special is that it's one of the first to be released with DisplayPort 2.1 support, providing extra bandwidth for high resolutions at ultra-fast refresh rates.

The Gigabyte Aorus F032U2P is pretty much the same monitor as the FO32U2, with the addition of DisplayPort 2.1 support and higher bandwidth. In fact, the upcoming ultra-wide monitor also supports UHBR20 mode, offering more bandwidth than the other DP 2.1 monitors, including the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 G95NC and Asus ROG Swift PG32UQXR, which only support UHBR13.5 and UHBR10, respectively.

The upcoming monitor offers a 4K resolution, 0.03ms response time, and a 240Hz refresh rate. The panel has 10-bit colour depth, allowing it to cover 99% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. Moreover, it is DisplayHDR True Black 400-certified. Features like black equalizer, various overlays, Night Vision, KVM, PiP, and PbP are also included.

It's worth noting that the FO32U2P will also have Mini-DisplayPort 2.1, as well as 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, 2x USB-A 3.2 ports, and microphone and audio jacks. Compared to the non-P version, it will enable a USB Type-C power delivery of 65W. In addition, it packs a pair of 5W speakers and an ergonomic stand that offers tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments.

KitGuru says: Pricing and availability have yet to be shared, but considering the competition, it won't come cheap. The Asus ROG Swift PG32UQXR, for instance, costs around £1500.

Razer has recently launched two new microphones that cater to the needs of gamers and content creators alike. These products are the Razer Seiren V3 Chroma and the Seiren V3 Mini. These microphones offer top-of-the-line functionality and the iconic aesthetics of Razer, making them suitable for any gaming setup, streaming studio, or content production environment.

The Razer Seiren V3 Chroma is a USB microphone, making it simple to plug in and use, without requiring an additional audio mixer or XLR interface. With Razer Chroma RGB-powered broadcast and Game Reactive Lighting, this microphone takes showmanship to the next level by using dynamic lighting effects that adapt to in-game events and broadcast notifications.

The highlight of the Seiren V3 Chroma is its super cardioid condenser mic. Its tighter pickup pattern reduces background noise, ensuring that every word you say is heard clearly, whether you're interacting with your audience or communicating with your colleagues. With a single touch, the Seiren V3 Chroma's Multi-Function Tap-to-Mute Sensor button can manage audio output (mute/unmute), modify lighting, and enable the digital gain limiter of the microphone. You can also check mic monitoring levels via the lighting indications.

The Seiren V3 Mini is a more compact version of the Seiren V3 Chroma, offering the same features in a smaller form factor. This microphone is perfect for broadcasters and gamers who want a high-quality audio capture device with a smaller footprint. It includes an easy tap-to-mute sensor with an LED indication for rapid control and feedback, integrated audio mixing via Razer Synapse, and a higher bit sampling rate for better audio performance.

The Razer Seiren V3 Chroma is available for purchase at £129.99/$129.99/€149.99, while the Seiren V3 Mini (black, white, or pink) costs £49.99/$59.99/€59.99.

Epomaker and Feker are partnering on a new mechanical keyboard, the Galaxy80. If you are a mechanical keyboard enthusiast, then you should be familiar with these companies already. The Galaxy80 aims to offer a streamlined design that saves on desk space, as well as improved acoustics while typing, all while keeping the cost relatively low.

The Galaxy80 uses the TKL formfactor, so users still get all the essential keys they need, while minimising the space the keyboard takes up on the desk. This makes it an ideal form factor for those who need to take their keyboard on the go, or simply want less clutter on their desk. The leaf-spring gasket arrangement at the heart of its design offers a comfortable typing experience, reducing fatigue during long sessions and providing a responsive touch with each keystroke.

The keyboard's aluminium alloy shell is durable, making it ideal for long-term use. The sturdy construction provides a stable foundation for each keystroke while withstanding regular wear and tear. Its modern appearance and colour schemes make it suitable for both gamers and professionals.

The Galaxy80 includes a PORON sandwich cotton layer, an IXPE switch pad, a PET acoustic pad, an EMDP switch cotton layer, and a PET bottom pad. These components combine to provide sharp, clear keystrokes that produce a pleasing sound. Under the key caps, you'll find Marble White mechanical switches, which are tactile and do offer audible feedback in the form of a click, like CherryMX Blue switches. If you'd rather use a different switch type, then there is good news, as the keyboard is hot-swappable.

This keyboard offers wired and wireless connections, providing flexibility for various use cases. You can connect it with a USB-C cable or switch to Bluetooth or 2.4GHz for wireless. With Bluetooth, the Galaxy80 can connect to up to three devices simultaneously and switch between them. The impressive 4000mAh battery sustains lengthy work and gaming marathons. The Epomaker x Feker Galaxy80 is now available from both the Epomaker and Feker websites for $105.99/€99.99.

KitGuru says: Considering its spec sheet and its price, this keyboard looks incredible. If you're looking for a new mechanical keyboard and like the TKL form factor, the Galaxy80 might be worth looking at.

At CES 2024, Gigabyte showcased various new displays, including the Aorus FO27Q3. The company has finally launched the product page for this monitor on their website, allowing us to look at its specifications.

The Aorus FO27Q3 is a 27-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, a maximum refresh rate of 360Hz and a response time of 0.03ms. This monitor is built with a QD-OLED screen with an anti-reflective coating, and the 10-bit panel supports over 10.7 billion colours, making it a DisplayHDR True Black 400-certified monitor. Additionally, the FO27Q3 has a typical brightness of 250 nits and a contrast ratio of 15000000:1.

Gamers will be pleased to know that the Aorus FO27Q3 is compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA ClearMR 13000. While G-Sync compatibility is not expressly mentioned, any adaptive sync monitor nowadays can activate G-Sync through the Nvidia Control Panel. This monitor also offers useful gaming-related features such as crosshairs, night vision, black equalizer, and picture-by-picture and picture-in-picture support.

The Aorus FO27Q3 provides multiple input options, including two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB-C with DP Alt mode compatibility and 18W power delivery. It also includes a USB-A 3.0 upstream port, two USB-A 3.0 downstream connectors, and earphone and microphone jacks. Additionally, the new Gigabyte monitor has KVM support and features a stand with tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments. Unfortunately, there is currently no information on the price or availability of the monitor.

KitGuru says: The spec sheet appears to be very similar to Alienware's new 360Hz QD-OLED monitor, which began shipping a few weeks ago. With that in mind, they may both use the same, or a similar Samsung panel. The Alienware model currently goes for £780, so this new Aorus monitor should hit the market at around £800, if not a bit more.

Cooler Master announced the release of the MK770, a new mechanical gaming keyboard offering a suite of features to please gamers and professionals alike. Available in two colour variants, the MK770 features RGB backlighting, hot-swappable switches, and a 96% layout that saves space while offering most of the keys of a full keyboard.

The MK770 is built to be reliable, configurable, sturdy, and efficient. The keyboard's hybrid wireless connection offers minimal latency and low battery consumption, making it ideal for gaming and general use. The MK770 works with various operating systems, including Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.

One of the key features of the MK770 is its hot-swappable mechanical switches, which offer limitless options for customisation without the need for soldering. The keyboard's newest KailhBox V2 switches provide a silky-smooth typing experience, while the gasket construction reduces vibration and noise, ensuring that each keystroke is accurate and pleasant. The keyboard's noise-absorbing design, including silicone dampers and EVA foam, further reduces typing noises.

The MK770 is not only functional but also visually appealing. The customisable RGB backlighting allows users to highlight individual keys with various lighting styles and effects. The PBT (85%) double-shot keycaps offer long-lasting colours and the lettering shouldn't fade drastically over time. Lastly, the 3-way wheel located in the top-right corner can be configured using Cooler Master's user-friendly MasterCTRL software.

The Cooler Master MasterKeys MK770 will soon be available in black/grey and green/yellow/pink, with an MSRP of $120.

2024 looks set to be a huge year for OLED gaming monitors, as pretty much every major brand announced new screens based on either LG's WOLED or Samsung's QD-OLED panels back at CES 2024. The Philips Evnia 49M2C8900 was announced slightly earlier, at the tail-end of 2023, but is still jaw-dropping thanks to its second-gen QD-OLED 49in 5120×1440 super ultrawide panel. Oh, and did we mention it's 240Hz?

There's no two ways about it, the Philips Evnia 49M2C8900 is an absolute spec monster. The idea of a 240Hz OLED alone is enough to get me interested, and that's before we get to the fact this is a second generation Samsung QD-OLED panel, promising increased brightness, better text legibility thanks to the tweaked sub-pixel structure, as well as improved black levels in bright conditions.

Factor in the monster 49in size, with the 5120×1440 resolution, peak brightness of up to 1000 nits, alongside near-instant response times, and there's really not much more to say – so let's get on with the review!

The latest additions to Sony PlayStation's audio product line are the new Pulse Elite wireless headset and the Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. Now available, both deliver immersive audio that complements the gaming experience on the PS5 and PlayStation Link-enabled devices such as the PS5, PC, Mac, and the PlayStation Portal. Additionally, it is also compatible with Bluetooth-enabled smartphones and tablets.

The Pulse Elite headset features planar magnetic drivers, which supports the PS5 console's Tempest 3D Audio. When used with PlayStation Link, the planar drivers ensure that the output of the 3D audio algorithms is sent directly to the player's ear without any loss, distortion, or delay. To enhance your audio experience, Sony released its first wireless earbuds, the Pulse Explore, which also feature planar magnetic drivers.

The microphones in both headsets use AI Noise Rejection to filter out background noise. In addition, they also use PlayStation Link wireless audio technology to make it easy for you to switch between your devices.

The Pulse Elite wireless headset boasts a retractable, adjustable boom mic that extends from the left side of the headset. The mic mute can be managed using either the mute button on the DualSense controller or the mute button on the Pulse Elite headset. The LED on the boom mic indicates whether you are currently muted.

Both new Pulse audio devices support Mono Audio, and each comes with three audio presets: standard, bass, and shooter. Alternatively, you can customise up to three equaliser presets. Once you have adjusted these, they will be automatically carried over to other devices you connect, whether you use Bluetooth, PlayStation Link, or the 3.5mm audio jack.

In the box for the Pulse Elite wireless headset, you'll find a charging hook, which you can use to hang your headphones up to keep them out of the way.

Sharkoon has released some great gaming peripherals over the years. Today, a new one is being added to the list, the new Hi-Res-certified SKILLER SGH50 gaming headset.

The SKILLER SGH50 is available in both black and white colour options, coming with hybrid earpads that use a combination of synthetic leather and fabric for a more comfortable fit. Both colour options use the same 50mm drivers, with a range of 10Hz to 40KHz.

The headset's drivers are tuned enough to earn Hi-Res certification, which should mean you'll get more precise audio while gaming, aiding in hearing where the action is coming from. For voice chat and video calls, the SKILLER SGH50 is equipped with a microphone complete with pop filter. Whenever the microphone is no longer needed, it can be simply detached from the headset.

Thanks to a modular set of TPE-sheathed cables, the gaming headset can be connected to all devices with common audio ports, whether PCs, consoles, or mobile devices. Using the inline controller, muting the microphone or adjusting the volume can be performed quickly and easily.

The SKILLER SGH50 is now available in white and black with hybrid ear pads, priced at 59.90 euros.

The post NZXT Lift 2 Mouse Review (Ergo + Symm) first appeared on KitGuru.]]>
NZXT released their first gaming mouse, the Lift, back in 2022. They have now revamped the design with the release of the Lift 2. On paper, the new model improves on the original in almost every way, featuring a lightweight design, up to 8000Hz polling rate and two distinct shapes. The Lift 2 Symm has a symmetrical and compact body, while the Lift 2 Ergo has a right handed, ergonomic and contoured design. Can these new mice from NZXT perform better than the first generation models?

Pros:

 • Matte finish doesn’t attract fingerprints.
 • Lighter than the original.
 • Up to 8000Hz polling rate.
 • Good feature set for the price.
 • Lack of RGB.

Cons:

 • 8000Hz polling rate is overkill for most people.
 • Inconsistencies in scroll wheel across the two shapes.
 • Non-detachable cable.
 • Lack of RGB.

KitGuru says: The Lift 2 gaming mice are a good improvement over the original Lift. The build has been improved overall but some inconsistencies in the scroll wheels across our two review units did slightly disappoint. The increase in polling up to 8000Hz is nice to see at the £53 price point. Overall, this is a step in the right direction for NZXT and the Lift 2 delivers a lot of features for a relatively low cost.

As the cornerstone of Azio's success, the Retro Classic Collection embodies the brand's aim of creating premium lifestyle workplace products. The original typewriter-style keyboard has pleased many, leading the company to launch a new model with the features seen on the latest premium mechanical keyboards.

The new RC Prestige Collection keyboard stays true to Azio's unique brand identity by presenting two new colours, Ebony and Ivory, while injecting the brand's material-centric design philosophy. The Ebony model has a faceplate in a black wood finish surrounded by a gunmetal grey aluminium frame and accents. As for the Ivory model, it features a white leather face enclosed in a silver aluminium profile. Both models feature unique double-shot keycap sets with a rounded square contour, distinguishing them from the circular keycaps of Azio's Retro Classic Collection.

The RC Prestige Collection keyboards preserve the classic body shape and design of its predecessors while adding a hot-swappable PCB with Gateron G Pro Brown switches as standard (Gateron G Pro Blue and Gateron G Pro Red switches are available as an option). However, the user can customise their typing experience by replacing these switches with others. The backlit vintage-style keycaps are compatible with other mechanical switches and keycap sets, allowing users to create their ideal typing arrangement. Moreover, these keyboards have adjustable feet and a dual connection mode, enabling users to connect via USB or Bluetooth to a maximum of three devices.

Those interested in Azio's new keyboards can visit the Kickstarter page to pre-order with a discount. While the keyboard will be released at $210, early birds can get it for $149 (limited to 100 units for each colour). In addition, there's a KS Special Edition for $169. Delivery is expected for July 2024.

KitGuru says: If you are a mechanical keyboard enthusiast, then the RC Prestige may be worth checking out if you like the retro-inspired style.

MSI is expanding its gaming monitor portfolio with two new additions. The new MSI MAG 345CQR is a curved ultrawide but if you prefer a more traditional flat screen, then the new MSI G272QPF E2 should do the trick.

The MSI MAG 345CQR features a 34-inch curved VA display with a 3440 x 1440 resolution and 1000R curvature. It has an average brightness of 300 nits and a static contrast ratio of 3000:1. The 8-bit+FRC display supports 120% of the sRGB, 95% of the DCI-P3, and 90% of the Adobe RGB colour spaces. It has a refresh rate of up to 180Hz, so you'll get a small boost in smoothness and visual clarity over the many 144Hz and 165Hz options on the market.

The monitor has two HDMI 2.0 connections, a DisplayPort 1.4 input, and a headphone jack. Additionally, it has a stand with height adjustment, swivel, and tilt capabilities. The MSI MAG 345CQR also comes with various gaming features such as Smart Crosshair, Optix Scope, AI Vision, and Console mode with VRR and CEC compatibility, making it a great option for gamers and creative professionals.

The new MSI G272QPF E2 replaces the MSI G272QPF, boasting a higher refresh rate of 180Hz. It features a 27-inch Rapid IPS display with a QHD resolution, an average brightness of 300 nits, and a static contrast ratio of 1200:1. The display has an 8-bit+FRC colour bit depth and covers 125% of sRGB, 94% of DCI-P3, and 90% of the Adobe RGB colour gamut.

The monitor has two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 input, and a headphone connector. Its stand offers comprehensive ergonomics, with a bi-directional pivot, swivel, tilt, and height adjustment. The MSI G272QPF E2 has been certified by TUV Rheinland for low-blue light and flicker-free operation. It comes with Adaptive-Sync technology, Gaming Mode, and Night Vision features, making it suitable for gamers and professionals who spend long hours in front of the screen.

Cons:

 • Expensive.
 • Arguably overkill for most webcam users.

KitGuru says: The Elgato Facecam Pro is, without a doubt, the best performing webcam we've ever tested. The amount of adjustability and almost ‘DSLR-like' settings help with dialling in great looking video. For the target customer, streamers and content creators, there is not much out there, aside from a ‘proper' camera that will match the Facecam Pro. However, for most people, this level of webcam will be overkill.

Cooler Master has recently released its most affordable monitor yet, the GA2501. This 24.5-inch flat screen monitor is a game-changer for entry-level monitors, with a sleek design that looks anything but cheap.

The monitor has a 24.5-inch IPS panel (6 bit + FRC) with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, providing 84% coverage of DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB and 109% of the sRGB. Moreover, the monitor has a 4ms (GTG) response time, a 100Hz refresh rate, 250 nits of typical brightness, and a 1300:1 static contrast ratio. Like most IPS panels, this one offers a wide viewing angle of 178°/178°.

What makes this monitor stand out is its connectivity options. It includes an HDMI (1.4) and a D-Sub (VGA), allowing legacy analogue connectivity. With D-Sub, you can get the native resolution at a reduced 75Hz refresh rate, though the D-Sub cable is not included in the box. However, the HDMI cable is included, and the monitor's sole digital input is necessary for the full 100Hz refresh rate.

In addition, there's a 3.5mm audio out port, eye protection via a low blue light mode, and anti-flicker technology. The included stand only offers tilt adjustments. According to Cowcotland, the Cooler Master GA2501 is already available in Europe for just €110.

AOC's latest AGON gaming monitor looks to be a bargain. Hitting the market at less than £230, the AGON by AOC G27G4X offers a 27-inch QHD panel with a 180Hz refresh rate for smooth gaming. Better yet, it also supports HDR.

The 27-inch AOC Gaming Q27G4X has a Fast IPS panel with 2560×1440 resolution, a 180Hz refresh rate, up to 1 ms GtG response time, and Adaptive-Sync support. Moreover, the monitor's 10-bit panel can display up to 1.07 billion colours and is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified (also supports HDR 10).

Hearing its customers' input, AGON by AOC installed a better, more intuitive on-screen display, allowing users to adjust their monitor easily. Alternatively, the lightweight AOC G-Menu software can also control the display settings and other AGON gaming devices. Other gaming-related features like the smart crosshair are also present.

The ergonomic stand has many adjustment options, including height, swivel, tilt, and pivot. Still, if that's not enough, the VESA 100×100 support will allow you to mount the monitor on a stand with enhanced ergonomics. Like most modern monitors, it features flicker-free technology and low-blue mode, providing eye comfort throughout long periods. Additionally, the monitor has 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, 2x built-in speakers and a headphone output. The AOC Gaming Q27G4X has a three-year guarantee and will be available this month for £229.99.

If you're in the market for a new gaming display, you'll likely come across various OLED monitors. While OLEDs have become increasingly popular, these monitors can be prone to burn-in. For those worried about this possibility, MSI is now offering a 3-year burn-in warranty for its OLED monitors.

Unfortunately, there's no cure for burn-in because of the organic nature of OLED. However, manufacturers have implemented various remedies to mitigate the issue, such as pixel shifting or logo illumination reduction. To address the concerns of gamers who play for long periods, manufacturers have started offering extended warranties.

For example, MSI is extending the warranty for burn-in issues on some of its QD-OLED monitors to three years. While the specifics of the warranty are unclear, consumers are likely required to follow the “MSI OLED Care” guidelines to be eligible. The MSI QD-OLED monitors covered by this 3-year burn-in warranty include the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED, MAG 321UPX QD-OLED, MAG 341CQP QD-OLED, MPG 271QRX QD-OLED, MPG 321URX QD-OLED, MPG 491CQP QD-OLED, and MEG 342C QD-OLED.

Dell Alienware is another company that offers a three-year guarantee for their OLED displays. However, it's worth noting that users can only swap the monitor once every three years, and there may be a possibility of receiving a reconditioned item. Meanwhile, Asus, as noted by TFTCentral, only offers a two-year burn-in warranty for its OLED gaming monitors.

KitGuru says: Keep in mind that burn-in is less likely to occur if you don't leave your system idle without a screensaver. Nevertheless, if you're a frequent gamer and want to ensure the longevity of your OLED display, it may be worth considering a warranty that covers burn-in.

Cooler Master is launching a trio of new monitors for 2024, each arriving at under £500, putting them in more affordable territory. The new Tempest GP2711 is Cooler Master's new Mini LED display, while the GM2711A offers an ultra-fast IPS panel instead. Finally, we have the GM34, a new 34-inch ultrawide.

The Tempest GP2711 arrives at the top of the list, with a £429.99 price tag. For that money, you get a 27-inch Mini LED display with 1440p resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate and impressive colour accuracy of 99% sRGB and 95% DCI-P3.

The GM2711S is a cheaper alternative, offering a 27-inch IPS panel instead with 180Hz refresh rate for £264.99. At this price, it makes for a solid option for those looking to finally move on from 1080p, or simply need to replace an ageing 1440p monitor. This monitor uses Cooler Master's new Advanced Reflectionless Technology, a unique surface process combined with a multi-layer coating to reduce glare from ambient light.

Finally, we have the new GM340CWQ2, a 34-inch Ultrwide Quantum Dot display with a curved VA panel with 1440p resolution. You'll get a maximum 165Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for gaming, and you'll have plenty of extra screen space for multitasking too when you need to get some work done. This monitor will hit the market with a £379.99 price tag.
