PC Specialist Recoil II - An Absolute Cracker

PCSpecialist's Recoil II is a simply fantastic laptop. Not only does it sport a sleek design with slim bezels and aluminium panels, but it's even got a low-profile mechanical keyboard. We reviewed it with a 60Hz display, but there is the option to upgrade that to a 144Hz refresh-rate. You'll get the most from the graphics, too, thanks to this machine's impressive cooling capabilities.

ASUS ZenBook 13 UX331UN

As Ultrabooks go, the ASUS ZenBook 13 UX331UN is top class. Not only does it have an incredibly slim body, but it still packs discrete graphics in the form of Nvidia's MX150 chip. Its 13in display is also excellent, while the 50Whr battery will give you plenty of screen-on time. The best bit? It won't even set you back a grand.

Asus Zephyrus S GX701GX

One of the latest laptops to come from ASUS ROG, the Zephyrus S GX701GX is packing a lot of power in a chassis this slim. Not only is there a hexacore CPU, but RTX 2080 Max-Q graphics as well - meaning games motor along on this 1080p, 144Hz display which also has G-Sync support. It will set you back over £3000, but it is an excellent gaming machine.

Gigabyte Aero 15-X9

Another laptop featuring the latest RTX graphics, Gigabyte's Aero 15-X9 is impressively slim, while it only weighs 2.09KG. Despite this, its components run very cool and the 94.24Wh battery provides exceptional battery life for a gaming machine of this calibre. Topping things off, there's even a 144Hz IPS display from LG. It's an all-round impressive gaming laptop.

PC Specialist Octane VI RTX

Calling the PC Specialist Octane VI RTX a 'laptop' is probably a bit generous, as this beast of a machine weighs over 4KG, and measures 4cm thick. That being said, it packs some serious hardware - including the desktop i9-9900K CPU and RTX 2080 graphics chip. Add that to the impressive cooling performance and very generous I/O, and you end up with a very capable desktop-replacement.
