The FSP Hydro PTM X Pro 1200W Platinum is a fantastic power supply which exhibited strong electrical performance across the board. The adoption of quality components throughout both primary and secondary stages, and a well cooled layout ensure maximum reliability and performance. FSP have not cut corners with this design and are using 105C-rated Japanese capacitors from one of the market leaders - Nippon Chemi Con.

Technically, this unit excelled in our testing. Ripple suppression is tight, and load regulation falls within 1% across the rails. It coped perfectly fine with our cross loading test and was able to achieve maximum efficiency levels in excess of 96%. Unlike some other power supplies we have tested recently, this unit is whisper quiet until over 1kW of power is demanded, and this point alone will appeal to an audience of high level enthusiasts.

The Vertex GX is a new ATX 3.0/PCIe Gen5 design from Seasonic and while we wait on the new PRIME units to be released, the Vertex GX has certainly impressed us during testing over the last few weeks. Load regulation is some of the tightest we have seen, and the unit dealt with the demanding cross load tests with flying colours. Ripple suppression is also in the top 5% of units we have tested in the last two years.
