Alphacool release cooling solutions for RX Vega cards

First impressions of the new AMD RX Vega 56 and 64 cards have been impressive, with the red team now rivalling Nvidia on most of its high-end cards, however one of the main complaints in our RX Vega64 review is that the cooler is “loud with sub-par cooling” that can cause thermal throttling. Luckily Alphacool has a solution with the launch of its Eiswolf GPX-Pro ATI RX Vega and NexXxoS GPX- ATI RX Vega coolers, designed to support the latest AMD cards.

The Vega edition of the NexXxoS GPX is now supplied with an improved backplate/side shield hybrid that covers the PCB. This not only protects the card, but improves its cooling performance as heat is dispersed more evenly. Alphacool are even releasing an upgrade kit for owners of the previous NexXxoS GPX cooler so that they have the ability to switch to AMD Vega cards.

The Eiswolf GPX-Pro ATI RX Vega is similar in that it isn't an entirely new design, but an upgraded version of the previous all-in-one Eiswolf GPX-Pro cooler made to fit the new RX Vega line of GPUs. The ATI RX Vega version will still be a pre-filled AIO solution with an integrated pump. Where this design differs from the old one is the implementation of “reverse flow” technology, aiming to make it even quieter while under load. The new Eiswolf offers a smaller 120mm as well as a 240mm larger solution depending on preference.

For those wanting to include this AIO into a cooling loop, the Eiswolf GPX-Pro will be available in a pre-filled Eisbaer Ready version. This allows for straightforward integration into the loop, by using either the pre-assembled quick connectors or the standard G1/4” connectors.

KitGuru Says: While I could share my opinion on the design of the cooler, I am more concerned as to why Alphacool are still using the ATI brand. Do you plan on picking up an RX Vega card? Would you get a third-party cooler for it?
