MSI makes another push for creators with Prestige P100 desktop and 5K ultra-wide display

MSI has been making a big push recently to capture the content creation and professional markets. This month, we are seeing another push thanks to the Prestige P100 Desktop and Prestige PS341WU- a product combo that MSI calls “the world's first customisable and synchronisable” creator eco-system package.

The Prestige P100 Desktop is powered by the Intel Core i9-9900K processor which is ideal for multitasking situations relevant to content creation. Along with the power of a 9900K CPU, MSI has added options for up to 64GB DDR4 RAM and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080Ti graphics, which should crunch the numbers in no time. If you are in the market for a system like this, then MSI also has a monitor to pair alongside it in the form of the PS341WU- a 5K  ultra-wide IPS display complete with DisplayHDR 600 certification, 100% sRGB coverage and 98% coverage for the DCI-P3 colour gamut.

The P100 Desktop is designed with thermal dissipation in mind. The tiny chassis comes with a thermal module that integrates CPU, GPU and PSU cooling with independent air-flow channels. The goal here is to allow professionals to get on with their high-performance tasks without worrying about overheating. However, without testing it out for ourselves, we can't be sure just how well it works yet.

You may be asking yourself, how is this thing customisable? Well the answer is MSI's Creator Centre and Creator OSD software. Through the software, users will have the option to personalise performance profiles by allocating and optimising hardware resources through Creator Centre and synchronising those settings with the Prestige PS341WU display.

The MSI Prestige PS341WU display is launching first and is already available for pre-order in the US with a price tag of $1,199.99. The Prestige P100 desktop system is expected to begin shipping in October instead and pricing is still to be confirmed.

KitGuru Says: With the specs listed this should be a high performance and interesting system. Looking at the initial pre-order price of the monitor alone tells us that the P100 will come with a hefty price tag. However, if the performance is as suggested, it may well prove to be a content creators dream.
