Philips announce the new B1 monitor series

Philips has announced a new B1 line of monitors aimed more towards the professional market with 24 and 27-inch models featuring Quad HD (2560 x 1440) resolution panels and an ergonomic and environmentally friendly design.

Two of the new B1 series monitors from Philips are equipped with IPS panels to provide a wide range of accurate colour reproduction. A combination of IPS panels and Philips SmartImage technology produces bright and crisp images ideal for photographers, graphics designers and film professionals.

User comfort is an important feature of the new B1 line of monitors, the Philips 245B1 includes a LowBlue mode, Flicker-Free technology and an Easy Read mode to reduce eye fatigue, while an ergonomic SmartErgoBase provides user-friendly adjustment. The 245B1 is also equipped with built-in stereo speakers and connectivity consisting of DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4 and USB 3.2.

The Philips 2451B is designed to be environmentally friendly, since it is compliant with standards such as EnergyStar 8.0, EPEAT, TCO Certified Edge and RoHS. The monitor is manufactured using 85% post-consumer recycled plastic and arrives in 100% recyclable packaging. The 245B1 features a built-in PowerSensor that can automatically detect the presence of the user and adjust the brightness to suit for reduced energy costs.

Philips has also announced two other B1 series monitors, the 242B1 is a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution display equipped with an IPS panel, PowerSensor, SmartImage and a range of comfort-enhancing features. As well as the 275B1 packed with productivity and performance features such as Quad HD resolution LCD panel, Adaptive-Sync technology and a SmartErgoBase for comfort.

The Philips 245B1 is available now, with an RRP of £199, while the 242B1 and the 275B1 monitors are expected to be available in June 2020, priced at £173 and £269 respectively.
