ASRock introduce a new triple fan Radeon RX 5700 XT Challenger card

This week, ASRock added another graphics card to its AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT series with the new Radeon RX 5700 XT Challenger Pro 8G OC triple-fan card powered by the AMD RDNA architecture with 2560 cores and 8GB GDDR6 VRAM.

The ASRock Radeon RX 5700 XT Challenger Pro 8G OC is equipped with a new style triple-fan cooling solution, the original ASRock Radeon RX 5700 XT Challenger card used a more simple twin fan cooler arrangement. The new triple-fan cooler means the RX 5700 XT Challenger Pro 8G OC is a little beefier than the older card with a 2.7-slot thickness.

Overall, the aesthetics of the RX 5700 XT Challenger Pro is very stealthy looking with an almost entirely black appearance with subtle silver highlights and a stylish black metal backplate that covers the entire length of the PCB. The three 80mm fans support a 0dB silent mode which stops the fans spinning when the GPU temperature is low.

The most important feature of this new 2.7-slot thick cooler is the additional surface area it creates. ASRock claims that the larger heatsink of the Radeon RX 5700 XT Challenger PRO 8G OC offers improved and effective cooling potential, making it the ideal choice for those users who want to push the card to its limit.

In terms of performance, the card is configured out of the box with the same 8GB 256-bit 14Gbps VRAM as the original RX 5700 XT Challenger, as well as the same 1905 MHz, 1795 MHz and 1650 MHz Boost, Game and Base clock frequencies. Rear connectivity includes a single HDMI 2.0b port and three DisplayPort 1.4 ports. The card is powered by two 8-pin PCIe cables and measures 279 x 118 x 52 mm in total.

UK price and availability of the ASRock Radeon RX 5700 XT Challenger Pro 8G OC is still to be announced.
