Corsair 2000D Airflow Review – Mini-ITX and SFX

The new Corsair 2000D Airflow is an unusual Mini-ITX case. It has a compact footprint of 200mm x 271mm but stands 458mm high, which gives it a volume of 24 litres. The explanation is that this ITX case can accommodate a 360mm AIO cooler and a full length graphics card, which is an unexpected combination of features.

Testing
To put this case through its cooling paces we will be using a test system consisting of an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X CPU, Radeon RX 6800 XT 16GB graphics and an SSD. This system allows us to produce a substantial amount of heat and effectively test the Corsair 2000D Airflow‘s cooling capabilities.

Thermal Performance

During our testing we loaded the Corsair 2000D AIrflow with 400W of combined CPU and GPU load and it performed well for a relatively small PC case. We are confident that gamers will be satisfied with the combination of thermals and low noise levels.

Closing Thoughts

Our video for the Corsair 2000D Airflow shows that you can indeed fit a large graphics card and a 360mm AIO cooler inside a Mini-ITX chassis, but really that's a confusing way to look at things. It makes much more sense to think of the 2000D as a 24 litre case with a small footprint. From there it follows that you need a Mini-ITX motherboard and if you're trying to save space then SFX power is the way to go. Once you have all that clear in your mind you can get busy building your new gaming PC.

We can be sure the Corsair 2000D Airflow will be used for gaming PCs as the combination of a large liquid cooler and full-sized graphics card is a natural fit, and that means we are talking about enthusiast PC builders. This is a good thing as you need to take care during your build to avoid sticking cables into fans or possibly kinking the tubes of your AIO cooler. Take your time and it will be fine but if you rush you will find it is rather tight for space inside the Corsair 2000D Airflow.
