Alphacool launches XPX Eisblock Clear and Satin CPU water blocks

This week, Alphacool is expanding its water block range with the brand new XPX Eisblock in both clear and satin versions. Similarly to other CPU water blocks in the XPX range, the Eisblock is designed with Alphacool's exclusive ramp technology.

This new method allows for improved cooling performance by allowing water to flow evenly over all of the cooling fins, rather than having water just rush through the mid-section of the block. This particular block also comes with a larger surface area of 34x32mm, making it a great choice for CPUs with higher core counts.

Aside from that, Alphacool is also the first water cooling manufacturer to switch out Plexiglas for transparent nylon. Nylon is a more robust material, allowing for greater protection against cracks, which can occur when connectors are fastened too tight.

There are two versions of the XPX Eisblock, a clear and a satin version. The clear version allows you to see all of the inner cooling channels and is said to be clear as glass. Meanwhile, the satin version has a unique, sandblasted surface, which really stands out when illuminated.

Here is the spec sheet for the XPX Eisblock:

Dimensions: 65 x 65 x 30mm
Connector: 2x G 1/4″
Material cooling plate: Nickel plated copper
Other materials: Transparent nylon and Plexiglass
Socket AMD: M2 /AM2+ /AM3 /AM3+ / FM1 / FM2 / FM2+ /AM4
Socket Intel: 775 / 1056 / 1155 / 1150 / 1151 / 2011 / 2011-3
