Xbox Games with Gold for June revealed

Each month without fail, Xbox Live Gold members are offered a number of free titles to download. The console manufacturer has now announced which games subscribers can look forward to over the course of the month of June. The offerings include the 2D action-adventure game, Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, as well as the classic open-world Xbox title ‘Destroy All Humans!’

Available from the 1st of June to the 30th is Shante and the Pirate’s Curse. The third game in the series, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse was released in 2014 for the 3DS, later arriving on Xbox in 2016. The game received high praise from both critics and fans of the series, thanks in part to its retro-style evocations to games such as metroid and Aladdin.

Available from the 1st to the 15th of June is Destroy All Humans. Originally released for the Xbox in 2005, this open-world action adventure title is playable on Xbox One thanks to Microsoft’s backwards compatibility program. Designed as a parody of Cold War era alien invasion films, Destroy All Humans! lets you play as an alien “tak[ing] over all humanity via land or air using a variety of alien weaponry.”

From the 16th to the 30th of June, subscribers can get their hands on Sine Mora. Originally released on Xbox 360, “this old school style shoot ‘em up sets itself apart by focusing on massive destruction and time manipulation”. Featuring “gorgeously crafted stages and deeply challenging Story and Arcade modes,” Sine Mora was received positively when it originally released on the Xbox Arcade in 2012.

The final game on offer is Coffee Talk. Available between the 16th of June and 15th of July, this Xbox One title has been described as a “soothing and relaxing game” where you can “immerse yourself in the stories of the city’s fantasy inhabitants where progression is based on the variety of beverages you serve”. The ‘character interaction simulator’ is a short but sweet experience.

These titles will be available for free to all those with Xbox Live Gold, or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
