The PC60 is Silicon Power’s thinnest portable SSD drive yet

Silicon Power has just announced its thinnest portable SSD to date. The PC60 is small enough to fit “in the palm of a hand and comfortably slides into a pocket”, due to its small housing and lightweight body.

Measuring 80x80x11mm and weighing 46g, the compact Silicon Power PC60 is square-shaped with a “polished frame and textured surface”. The housing is shock resistant, capable of withstanding “minor drops and bumps”, and it features a keyhole to attach it to a keychain or a bag. All of these features make the PC60 a portable, on-the-go storage solution for any type of user.

The storage options include 240GB, 480GB, 960GB, and 1.92TB capacities, thanks to the 3D NAND Flash technology it uses. The maximum read speed is 540MB/s and the maximum write speed is 500MB/s. The only port available to connect is a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, compatible with USB 3.1 Gen 2, USB 3.1 Gen 1, USB 3.0, and USB 2.0. A Type-C to USB Type-A cable is included.

According to Guru3D, the PC60 is supported by the Free SP Widget software (available here), allowing users to backup and restore their data, using AES 256-bit encryption and cloud storage if they wish so.
