Nvidia’s latest Game Ready driver prepares for Conan Exiles, Pillars of Eternity II and Destiny 2

Nvidia’s 397.31 Game Ready driver ended up causing a lot of issues for GeForce GTX 1060 users last month, with the problem finally resolved with a quick hotfix a week later. Moving on from the debacle, the company has now launched its 397.64 driver, optimising Conan Exiles, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire and Destiny 2’s latest Warmind expansion.

While it was the previously released GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 397.55 that smoothed over visual issues reported by users primarily plaguing GeForce GTX 1060 users, the new 397.64 Game Ready driver manages to fix a host of bugs from previous releases, such as Netflix stuttering, crashes upon exiting Starcraft 2 and the lack of functionality from MSAA enabled through the Nvidia Control Panel.

Alongside providing the best experience for Conan Exiles, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire and Destiny 2: Warmind, the 397.64 Game Ready driver adds SLI profiles for Kingdom Come: Deliverance and GRIP, alongside support for Microsoft Surface Books which came alongside the Hotfix.

Unfortunately, many smaller issues still remain from the buggy 397.31 driver, with new problems being added to the mix. Some players are claiming that Wolfenstein II keeps crashed since the update landed, Nvidia Surround bugging out in Call of Duty: WWII and Shadowplay / Share working intermittently.

KitGuru Says: Unless any of the three titles are imperative to the user, it is recommended to hang around a little before downloading, so as to avoid the same headache caused by Nvidia’s release at the end of April. Do any of the enhanced games interest you?
