Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake won’t be a PlayStation exclusive, sources claim

Over the last couple of years, we've heard consistent rumours that Konami is working on a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. Now, that all seems to be coming to fruition, with sources claiming that the game will be announced at E3 this year. While some rumours have claimed that this game would be a PlayStation exclusive, the latest report refutes that.

According to Insider Gaming's sources, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is getting a remake and while it will supposedly be announced at Sony's upcoming PlayStation showcase with a small teaser trailer, it won't be an exclusive game. It is claimed that the game will also be coming to Xbox Series X/S consoles, as well as PC (via Steam).

This is the latest in a long saga of Konami leaks. Back in 2021, VGC reported that Konami was reviving the Metal Gear, Castlevania and Silent Hill franchises. We already know that this was true for Silent Hill, which now has multiple new games and remakes in the works, both at Konami's own studios and third-party partners. VGC has also previously suggested that the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake is being developed by Virtuos, a studio that has previously supported projects like Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West.

If this latest report is accurate, we'll get confirmation in just a couple of days' time. The PlayStation Showcase is set to go live at 9PM BST on the 24th of May.
