EK announces the Quantum Momentum TRX40 Aorus Master D-RGB monoblock

EK Water Blocks is about to launch another monoblock for sTRX4 motherboards. The latest EK monoblock was designed for the Gigabyte TRX40 Aorus Master motherboard, and follows a different approach compared to other monoblocks from the company.

The EK-Quantum Momentum TRX40 Aorus Master is a “complete all-in-one (CPU and motherboard)” solution that uses the Velocity sTR4 cooling engine. This cooling engine was designed to cool the “large IHS” used on AMD Threadripper processors. Besides cooling the CPU, this monoblock also covers the VRM modules and the LAN chips beneath the I/O shield.

This monoblock features a removable D-RGB LED strip, placed on a “CNC-milled black anodized cover” located at the bottom of the block. The LEDs connect to the motherboard using a 3-pin addressable D_LED header and can be customised using Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0 or EK-Loop Connect hub. Thanks to the header, users can control the colour of each LED on the strip.

Featuring a stainless steel cover to reduce the weight of the monoblock, the EK-Quantum Momentum TRX40 Aorus Master also uses a “high flow design” to ensure that it can be used on custom loops with weaker pumps. It comes with a larger and redesigned cold plate with 91 micro-fins, and it's made of “high quality glass-like acrylic”.

EK Water Blocks also states the mounting screws and brass screw-in standoffs for the block are nickel-plated and are pre-installed, making the installation process easier. Being a “true one-piece” monoblock, there are only two connector fittings, with the bottom left out port being strategically placed to make tube routing that bit easier.

The EK-Quantum Momentum TRX40 Aorus Master D-RGB – Plexi is available to pre-order and it will launch on March 27, with an MSRP of€199.90.
