HI-FI Rush adds Photo mode as game surpasses 2 million players

HI-Fi Rush might be the biggest surprise of 2023 so far, with the Xbox console exclusive game getting announced and released on the same day to great fanfare thanks to its unique gameplay mechanics and punchy art style. A little over 1 month after its release the game has reached over 2 million players.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official HI-FI Rush page said “What a crowd! Two million players have enjoyed #HiFiRush, and we can't thank you enough!”

Of course, it is worth noting that 2 million players does not equate to 2 million copies sold as HI-FI Rush was made available day-one on Xbox Game Pass. Still the figure is an impressive one nonetheless – especially considering the game had no marketing prior to its release.

Alongside this milestone announcement, developer Tango Gameworks also released a new update for the game, with the primary new addition being a photo mode where “You can pause the action and pose Chai and his allies, then edit the scene with a medley of frames, filters and camera effects to create the perfect picture!”

That is not all however as the update has squashed a bunch of bugs while also making minor adjustments to various aspects of the game – the full list of which can be found HERE.

HI-FI Rush is a unique game with a unique concept executed excellently and so it is not surprising to see that the action-rhythm game has amassed a large audience of fans. Hopefully this encourages more games to be released in a similar manner.
