Apple fail to get block on Samsung Galaxy devices in U.S.

Samsung have had a rise (up to 2.2 percent) in Seoul trading, due to Apple losing a bid to block the Galaxy range of phones and tablet computers in America.

The U.S District Court in San Jose, California have ruled against Apple's plan to ban Samsung from selling their 4G smartphone and Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet computer in America. This victory mirrors Samsung's success in Australia as the court ruled against Apple for the same ban demands. So far, there have been more than 30 suits against both companies across four continents since April this year.

Seoul analysts Marcello Ahn and C.W. Chung wrote “The situation is turning positive for Samsung. In the best case, Samsung will be able to receive patent license fees from Apple.”

The conflict is said to continue however regardless of the ruling, as neither company wants to be seen to give ground to the other. Samsung have also modified the design of their Galaxy Tab 10.1 last month to avoid a German sales ban. The device now has the letter ‘N' at the end of the name.

Kitguru says: The battle rages on, with no signs of it dissolving.
