Intel buy SySDSoft – targeting wireless market

Intel have bought SySDSoft to help expand their wireless business, this egyptian based group build IP systems and RF/Analogue circuits for mobile platforms. The 100 engineers in SYSDSoft will be joining the Intel team to push forward new high speed technologies into the mainstream market.

The SySDSoft deal will help Intel push 4G LTE technology with a focus on software development and design capabilities also. Intel's Hermann Eul, president of Intel Mobile Communications said that they are making adjustments and investments to improve and enhance their existing wireless product portfolio.

He said: “We believe that SySDSoft’s proven and experienced engineering team, combined with Intel Mobile Communications’ existing wireless strength, positions us well for continued growth in LTE.”
