Cooler Master CM Storm Spawn Mouse Review

Rating: 9.0.

Over the past couple of years the gaming peripherals market has been flooded with new products, both from new and existing manufacturers.  Cooler Master's CM Storm brand is a relitavely new player in the market, competing with the longer-established brands such as SteelSeries and Razer.

Today we are going to look at Cooler Master's CM Storm Spawn which is designed to provide a compromise between good performance and value for money.

It boasts an impressive specification including a 3500DPI optical sensor and seven fully programmable macro buttons.

Specification

  • 3500 DPI Optical Sensor
  • 800, 1800, 3500 DPI Presets

Cooler Master get things off to a good start by packaging the Spawn in a very high quality box which rivals what we have seen from the likes of Razer and SteelSeries.  It is decorated in an attractive black and red livery which reflects the colour scheme that Cooler Master use throughout their CM Storm range.  The top of the box opens up to reveal the mouse inside, packaged within a vacuum-formed plastic tray.  Cooler Master assure us that a Driver CD will be included in the retail product even though there wasn't one included in our early sample.  In fact, the only item included alongside the mouse itself is a quick-start guide.
