Anonymous target NATO – 1GB of data stolen

Reports just in claim that a team of hackers have breached NATO security and have gained access to a substantial amount of sensitive data.

Anonymous, the well known hacking group who have targeted many businesses, governments and corporations in recent months are said to be behind the attacks. They have said however that it would be ‘irresponsible' of them to publish the data they stole from NATO, saying that they have a whopping 1 Gigabyte of data on hand from protected servers.

As expected, their Twitter page is active with comments and they said “Hi NATO. Yes, we haz more of your delicious data.” They have almost 130,000 followers now on their Twitter page.

A NATO official, who had to remain unnamed, spoke to the Associated Press has confirmed they are aware that a hacker group has released information on the attack and said they were investigating the matter.

“We strongly condemn any leak of classified documents, which can potentially endanger the security of NATO allies, armed forces and citizens.” said the offical from NATO.

Right now, Anonymous have kept the data they claim to have stolen close to their chest, saying they won't release it into the public domain.

They said on their Twitter page “NATO strongly condemns any leak of classified documents, which can potentially endanger the security of..” RLY. Guess what we did NOT leak?
