Gigabyte Aorus K9 Optical Mechanical Keyboard Review

In this review we take a look at the Gigabyte Aorus K9 keyboard which utilises optical mechanical switches from Flaretech – designed to be faster, more durable and splash proof. The switches themselves can also be hot-swapped for a custom gaming experience. With other features including RGB backlighting, integrated cable management and a set of included PBT keycaps, it sounds like a pretty good deal for £110 – but is the Aorus K9 as good as it sounds?

Pros:

• Integrated cable management.
• RGB backlighting.
• Extra PBT keycap set.
• Extra Flaretech switches.
• Reasonable pricing.
• Very solid chassis with good build quality.
• Splash proof.

Cons:

• Software isn't great.
• Flaretech switches are a little wobbly and loud.
• RGB lighting could be better.
• No USB passthrough.
