Samsung withdraw iPhone block in Korea

Samsung Electronics have decided to withdraw the injunction they had planned to try and stop sales of the iPhone 4S in Korea.  The new iPhone 4S when on sale at the weekend and news hit that Samsung would do everything in their power to stop Apple selling the new phone in this territory.

Samsung had internal meetings over the legal situation and eventually decided that they would not go ahead with the proposed initial plan. They already made similar applications in other parts of the world, such as Japan, Australia, Italy and France.

Samsung issued a rather unusual statement in Korea to some members of the press saying “We concluded that we should engage in legal battles with Apple only in the global market, but not in order to gain more market share in Korea.”

Kitguru says: Seems they are keeping resources at hand to fight another day.
