Dell launch new XPS 14z Ultrathin laptop in China

Dell have launched a new ultrathin laptop in China today, called the XPS 14z. This is going to filter out into Europe and the US over the coming months.

Dell say that the XPS 14z is the worlds thinnest machine which has a slot for an optical drive. It is 23 millimeters thick and is built around an aluminum chassis, much like the Apple machines. 14 inch computers in China are the most popular size.

The laptop has a 14 inch screen rated at 1366 x 768 pixels. There are options to kit out the laptop with Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processors and the claimed battery life is 7 hours, which is quite impressive, if accurate. It is a little expensive, as expected with a price around $1,200 US.

China is the world's biggest PC market according to Dell, surpassing the US in sales this year. They have been putting a lot of time an effort into focusing with developing markets, rather than America and parts of Europe.

Kitguru says: We really like the appearance of this laptop.
