Valve officially launches Dota Underlords in open beta across PC, iOS and Android

After just a few months of work and a short amount of time in closed beta, Valve has officially begun rolling out Dota Underlords for anyone to play. Not only is the game already available to play for free on PC, Mac and Linux, but the mobile versions have also launched at the same time, so you can try it on Android or iOS too.

Dota Underlords is still technically in an early access state, so ranked matches are classified as ‘pre-season’ while Valve gathers feedback and makes some adjustments to ensure the game is as good as it can be. Unsurprisingly, Valve’s version of Dota Auto Chess is already off to a positive start too, reaching the top four games played on Steam in the last 24 hours, coming behind PUBG, Dota 2 and CS:GO.

Dota Underlords has over 130,000 players currently and has already reached a higher 24-hour peak player count than Artifact, which had an all-time peak of 60,740 players and barely manages to bring in 200 players a day nowadays.

Dota Underlords is a standalone game featuring many of the heroes from Dota 2. You get put in a battle against seven opponents and you will spend each round battling on the field and then using gold to buy new heroes to put on the field. Positioning and synergy between different characters is one of the keys to success.

You can find Dota Underlords on Steam, Google Play for Android and the App Store for iOS.

KitGuru Says: I tried out Dota Underlords for a while on my iPad last night. The game works really well on mobile in addition to desktop PCs. Have many of you tried this game out yet?
