Far Cry 3 faces a 2 month delay: gamers miffed

Far Cry 3, one of the most awaited games this year, is going to suffer from a two month delay from the original date of September.

The incredible looking game will be released 29th November in Europe and 4th December in America.

Some people are rather miffed with the game being delayed, and others are more confident that the developer will have more time to get improve the title before release.

Far Cry 3: finally a good test for modern graphics hardware?

WhatCulture take the debate a step further, discussing the possibility of a “governing body overlook all advertised release dates and treat them the same as all other false advertisements cases. This once again brings some interesting pros and cons to the table so let’s look at maybe the most obvious ones. A pro may be that these developers would create a more realistic date for a release target through fear of being penalised in some way and thus ‘front load’ the delays meaning that we never even know they are there.”

Dan Hay at Ubisoft said “We're taking more time to create the best possible gameplay experience, Far Cry 3 is a huge offering and we want every element of this insane, action-packed adventure to be of the highest possible quality for the players.”

The new release date isn't favourable for Ubisoft as they will face stiff competition from Halo 4, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2, both scheduled for November. Medal Of Honor: Warfighter will be released on October 30th.

Kitguru says: Do you mind a delay if the game turns out better, or are they a cop out from the company who should announce the dates only when they are sure they can meet them?
