Apple stock running out for original discounted iPad

Apple have run out of stock of the original 16GB iPad, which was selling at a reduced price as the iPad2 was launched to replace it.

The Apple online store in America no longer offers the Wi-Fi only version of the original iPad in their clearance section and has run out of the first generation 16GB Wi-Fi iPad in the refurbished section.

All three of the earlier 3G models remain on sale in the clearance section,. priced at $529, $629 and $729 for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models respectively.

Shortly after they announced the iPad 2, Apple began to offer remaining stock of the original iPad at discounted prices. Unopened models of the iPad are on sale for a $100 discount while refurbished models are $170 off the original price.

Apple have also given a $100 discount or refund to customers who purchased the first generation iPad within 14 days of the iPad 2 announcement on March 2nd.

How many iPad's will Apple sell in 2011? Analysts have made a prediction of 40 million, including both the first and second generation units. Greater than expected iPad 2 sales and demand have actually caused one analyst to revise his initial sales forecast.
