Google announces over a dozen third-party titles coming to Stadia

Since its launch, Google Stadia has struggled to gain a foothold within the video games industry. The online-only game streaming service has encountered a number of issues on many fronts, including but not limited to its lack of games. In its latest Stadia connect, the search giant tackled this issue head-on, announcing more than a dozen new third-party games which are coming to the service.

The games in question are:

  • Super Bomberman R Online (Autumn 2020)
  • One Hand Clapping (early access; first on Stadia; available now)
  • Dead by Daylight
  • PUBG Season 8
  • Hitman (1st September 2020)
  • Hitman 2 (1st September 2020)
  • Hitman 3 (January 2021)
  • Serious Sam 4 (August 2020)
  • Outrider (Christmas 2020)
  • WWE 2K Battlegrounds (18th September 2020)
  • PGA Tour 2K21 (21st August 2020)
  • NBA 2K21 (Autumn 2020)
  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (Autumn 2020)
  • Hello Neighbor (20th September 2020)
  • Hello Neighbor: Hide & Seek (Christmas 2020)

It is worth noting that Super Bomberman R Online and One Hand Clapping are coming first to Stadia, with an indeterminate exclusivity window. Furthermore, Hello Neighbor will be made available to all Stadia Pro members upon its launch.

Lastly, Dead by Daylight will feature cross-play with all other platforms (and will include cross-progression with both Switch and PC), and will be receiving some exclusive features available only on Stadia: Crowd Play and Crowd Choice. Crowd Play will allow streamers to invite their viewers to join in on a trial, while Crowd Choice will put power into the hands of the viewers, allowing them to select whether the streamer plays as a killer or survivor, and which character in particular.

Though the Google Stadia library is still relatively light when compared to other more mature services, Google is continuing to support Stadia beyond what some outside observers may have expected. All that’s left now is to see how these titles perform on the service.
