QNAP launches TS-x53BU rackmount Series NAS with expandable PCIe and 10GbE

QNAP today is launching a new Rackmount TS-x53BU series NAS system. The TS-x53BU is available in 4-bay, 8-bay and 12-bay models with single and redundant power supply options for optimal performance and reliability. This system features four Gigabit LAN ports and slots for M.2 SSD and 10 GbE connections, so there is room for expandability.

As standard, the TS_x53BU features a 1U and 2U form factor, making it ideal for small businesses and workgroups in need of a stable and secure storage option. Under the hood, everything is powered by an Intel Celeron J3455 quad-core processor running at 1.5GHz. There is up to 8GB of DDR3L RAM, SATA 6Gb/s and four Gigabit LAN ports. In all, this series should deliver up to 415 MB/s read speeds and 416 MB/s read speeds while using Intel AES-NI 256-bit encryption.

This NAS features a PCIe slot, so you could install a QNAP QM2 M.2 SSD/10GbE LAN adapter to boost caching performance. Using QNAP Qtier auto-tiering technology, you should be getting the best use of hardware resources and storage allocation too.

On the software side, this system features the latest QTS 4.3 operating system, which offers a wide range of applications to help will various tasks. This includes Hybrid Backup Sync, QmailAgent, QVR Pro and more, covering backups, email and video surveillance respectively.
