AMD is currently gearing up to launch its new RDNA 3 GPU architecture in November and sure enough, we are starting to see some leaks. According to a new report this week, the RX 7900 XT will pack 20GB of VRAM.

According to Wccftech, the upcoming GPU will come with 20GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at ~20Gbps across a 320-bit memory bus. With these memory specs, the card would feature a maximum memory bandwidth of ~800GB/s, about 224GB/s faster than the Radeon RX 6950 XT. The GPU itself is based on the Navi 31 GPU and is expected to have 10,752 stream processors and a ~330W TBP.

Besides the RX 7900 XT, the report also mentioned the RX 7950 XT, said to use a fully enabled Navi 31 GPU with 12,288 stream processors. The memory subsystem would use 24GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at ~20Gbps on a 384-bit memory bus.

For now, we can't confirm any of this, but AMD will be announcing its new RDNA 3 GPUs on the 3rd of November, so we'll get official details very soon.

KitGuru says: Considering how close we are to the announcement, AIB partners should already have all the details regarding these new GPUs. This in turn will likely lead to more leaks over the next couple of weeks.

A video of a Chinese content creator allegedly testing an engineering sample of the RTX 3080 20G has been uploaded to Bilibili. As per the video, the card manufacturer is Colorful, but since the card itself is never shown during the video, it's better to take these test results with a pinch of salt.

Oddly, GPU-Z detects the unreleased GPU as an RTX 3080. If this card is actually the unreleased RTX 3080 with 20GB, it looks like it will feature the same GA102 GPU as the original RTX 3080, but with more cores enabled. If this is the case, it would be similar to the GTX 1060 3/6GB situation, where the 6GB variant has more CUDA cores enabled than the 3GB model.

As per the GPU-Z information of the RTX 3080Ti shown in the video (via @9550pro), the unreleased graphics will feature the same base (1395MHz) and boost clock (1695MHz) of the RTX 3090 and 20GB of GDDR6X memory clocked at 19Gbps on a 320-bit memory bus. The leaker also claims that the card has the same TDP as the RTX 3090, which is 350W.

During the video, the leaker compares the RTX 3080 20G to the RTX 3080 and the RTX 3090 in multiple games and benchmarks. According to his results, the RTX 3080 20G performs similarly to the RTX 3090 most of the time, but in a few cases, the performance difference can reach up to eight percent.

The leaker didn't reveal a release date for the RTX 3080 20G, but shared the expected price range, which should be between ¥7999 (£907) and ¥8999 (£1021). He also claimed that the GPU's price could increase due to the low stock of memory chips.

KitGuru says: Do you think an RTX 3080 20GB makes more sense over an RTX 2080Ti? How much would you be willing to spend on an upgraded RTX 3080?

If you were planning on playing Modern Warfare over the weekend, then you may want to load up Battle.net or your console of choice a little early as today's game update is a big one. The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch has begun rolling out today, weighing in at 20GB.

The new patch is huge but it does also add quite a bit to the game, alongside some bug fixes. For fans of Special Operations, there are two new ones called ‘Harbinger' and ‘Brimstone', while Classic Spec Ops is getting a new mission called ‘Door Kick' and a three star rating system with new rewards based on mission performance.

The multiplayer side of the game is also getting an update, including the ‘Realism Moshpit' playlist, which includes Hardpoint, HQ, Kill Confirmed and Domination game modes. Gun Game and Free-for-All multiplayer modes are also returning with this new update.

Those are the major features but there are some tweaks and bug fixes too. On PC, players can now hide friend requests and party invitations, the game's startup sound should no longer be too loud, some crashing and stability issues are fixed and keybinding adjustments have been made. There is more to it all in the full patch notes, which also includes fixes for private matches, killstreaks, weapon balance changes and more.

KitGuru Says: With DOOM Eternal pushed to next year, Modern Warfare has been my end-of-year shooter of choice and so far, I'm liking it a lot. Have many of you been playing Modern Warfare since launch?
