Almost everyone reading this article today will have either a USB 2.0 flash drive, or removable hard drive. Keeping an offline backup of sensitive and important documents is a very wise move. Today we are looking at the latest USB 3.0 drive from ADATA, the ‘Pro' version of their popular N005 flash drive, which promises a speed increase of 120% when compared with their last model.

At home I use several USB flash drives, primarily relying on my trusty 64GB Kingston DT Ultimate to keep important data close at hand and for copying large files between offline computers.

ADATA are claiming that their new Nobility N005 Flash drive can achieve staggering read speeds up to 180MB/s. If you aren't technically minded then compare this number against the 10-30 MB/s you are probably getting from your bargain basement USB 2.0 drive bought in a local store for a few quid.

Obviously your computer will require a USB 3.0 port (blue coloured) to take full advantage of the bandwidth, but they are becoming more commonplace today, even on budget laptops.
