ROCCAT has made some excellent gaming mice over the years, ranging from the high-end to more budget friendly options. This week, the Kova AIMO was announced, catering to both right and left handed users at a reasonable price.

We've reviewed several ROCCAT AIMO peripherals in the past, including the Kone version, which got our ‘Worth Buying' award back in late 2017. With the Kova, we see ROCCAT catering to everyone, with a true ambidextrous design, with a shape and feature set that caters to right and left handed users.

In terms of features, you get a Pro-Optic R6 sensor that is capable of up to 7,000 DPI sensitivity. This is lower than some high-end mice but more than enough to serve most people's needs. The top buttons are ‘quickfire' for improved response, you get a 1,000Hz polling rate, 20G acceleration, on-board memory to save your own profiles and a 1.8m braided USB cable. Of course, RGB lighting is also included.

One of my favourite features in ROCCAT mice is ‘easy shift', which lets you access a second array of button commands quickly. This feature makes a return on the Kova, paving the way for up to 20 possible button functions.

We don't have a review unit in just yet so we can't give an official verdict on this mouse, but hopefully we'll get one in soon. In the meantime, the Kova AIMO is available already in black and white colour options. In the US, it'll set you back around $69, here in the EU, it is €59.99 or £52.99 in the UK.

KitGuru Says: I reviewed a ROCCAT Tyon over four years ago and that mouse is still going strong today. Still, to me, the Kova looks tempting. Are any of you planning on picking up a new gaming mouse soon?

It looks like ROCCAT is officially completing its new AIMO peripheral ecosystem with the launch of the new Khan AIMO headset. This particular headset retains the critically acclaimed features of the Khan Pro and makes various improvements to other areas.

The ROCCAT Khan AIMO comes equipped with 50mm drivers, which is exactly what you would want from a high-end gaming headset. There is virtual 7.1 surround sound support, alongside a paired sound card that enables high resolution 24-bit audio straight out of the box. The integrated sound card can deliver 24-bit at 96KHz, outperforming other onboard solutions on most motherboards. This also takes away the need to obtain your own sound card and take up extra space inside your system. This, paired with virtual 7.1 surround sound will help gamers take full advantage, particularly in competitive games, making it easier to pin point where sounds are coming from.

The Khan AIMO is built to last with stainless-steel sliders holding the ear cups and the head band together. This particular headset is also on the lighter end of the spectrum, weighing in at just 275 grams. As long as the headset doesn't end up putting too much pressure on the wearer's head, then they should be able to forget it is there all together. We'll hopefully dig deeper into that side of things if we get our hands on a sample for review.

The ear cups are lined with memory foam and the headband is padded, so on paper, comfort shouldn't really be an issue. Last but not least, the Khan AIMO also supports RGB lighting effects, just like the rest of the AIMO range. The ROCCAT Khan AIMO will be available soon, currently the MSRP is set at $119.99.

KitGuru Says: It has been a while since I've looked into the gaming headset market. Are many of you currently shopping around for a new pair of headphones for PC gaming? What do you think of ROCCAT's Khan AIMO?

Later today, Roccat will be launching a brand new AI-powered mouse called the ‘Kone AIMO'. The latest addition to Roccat's award winning Kone-series of mice was built following a massive survey that asked around 30,000 gamers about their ideal mouse weight, size, lighting options and more. The Kone AIMO is the result of that.

At Gamescom today, KitGuru spoke with Roccat's marketing guru, Tom Loske, who said: “Eight years after Roccat revolutionised The gaming performed market with the introduction of RGB lighting, they are now the first company to introduce AI for gaming peripherals”.

The idea of an AI-powered mouse might seem a tad overwhelming at first but as Loske explains there is “no programming needed”. Instead, all AIMO products will coordinate lighting to match your screen. Roccat's new platform can work in an open-source way too, so if other vendors are willing to open up their lighting systems, the AIMO would be able to fit right in.

This is Roccat's 10th anniversary mouse launch, with plans to release the AIMO in September for £69. The AIMO family will eventually be expanded to include other peripherals too.

KitGuru Says: I never thought I'd see AI incorporated into a mouse but here we are. This will certainly be an interesting piece of tech to review later this year.
