The post SilverStone Permafrost PF240-ARGB AIO Liquid Cooler Review first appeared on KitGuru.]]>
SilverStone are well known for their range of PC cases and accessories. However, they also offer a plethora of other PC components including power supplies, storage devices and cooling solutions with the latter being what we are looking at today with one of SilverStone’s latest all-in-one, closed-loop CPU coolers on our test bench.

Their latest all-in-one cooler offerings, called Permafrost, are available in a range of sizes including 120mm, 240mm and 360mm variants, with the PF240-ARGB 240mm version being the one we will be putting through its paces.

SilverStone are keen to make it clear that their Permafrost range, which uses a brand-new water block, includes a pump featuring a dual-chamber design that isolates hot and cold liquid channels to prevent heat bleeding. This should ensure more efficient removal of heat away from the CPU water block.

The new pump utilises a three-phase motor and six pole design for smoother, quieter operation compared with other single-phase designs, which in turn should improve efficiency too. At the base of the pump, there is a large copper thermal transfer plate, with 0.2mm micro-channels to evenly distribute liquid flow for improved heat dissipation.

SilverStone has sourced several automotive-grade components to ensure the Permafrost coolers include high quality and durable parts. An automotive-grade sine wave generator is used to drive the pump, which ensures electrical noise and vibrations are kept to a minimum. The 240mm radiator is also said to be manufactured from automotive-grade materials too.

Two 120mm SilverStone fans are included in the PF240-ARGB cooler. These fans are PWM controlled and feature addressable RGB lighting. SilverStone states the fans are optimised for both air-flow and pressure, therefore providing maximum performance with minimal noise.

The PF240-ARGB cooler has an included ARGB controller for users to connect with the ARGB fans and pump. However, since all the cables use standard ARGB 5V 3-pin motherboard type connections, this provides the option to connect directly to the motherboard and sync the RGB lighting with other components in the system. SilverStone’s RGB solution is compatible with Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0, MSI Mystic Light Sync, Asus Aura Sync and Razer Chroma.

The post Thermaltake Floe DX RGB 360 Premium Edition AIO Cooler Review first appeared on KitGuru.]]>
While you may know Thermaltake for its series of eye-catching and often outlandish cases, the company also manufacturers a range of liquid coolers as well. The product in question today, the Floe DX RGB 360 Premium Edition, is a new top-of-the-line AIO with plentiful RGB lighting and even support for Amazon Alexa. Is it worth the £219.99 asking price?

Thermaltake's brand-new Floe DX 360 RGB All-In-One liquid cooler may not present extreme visual design characteristics that we have come to expect from Thermaltake, but can it top our charts for raw cooling performance? After all, this is the real purpose we buy and use All-In-One coolers, right?

There are plenty of features packed in to the Floe DX 360, including fully customisable addressable RGB lighting with a software-controlled digital RGB module, high static pressure Ring Duo TT Premium RGB PWM fans, alongside Windows and mobile app software. And It can even be voice controlled!

A latest 6th generation Asetek pump is used within the Floe DX 360 with rotating side entry tubing, and quality copper micro channel cold plate with an aluminium radiator design. The tubing looks to be a good length at approximately 390mm. The same can be said for the cables connecting the fans and pump.

The Thermaltake Floe DX 360 RGB TT Premium Edition will set you back £219.99 in the UK and will be available to purchase from today at online retailers. This places it in the top pricing tier of 360mm All-In-One coolers, which will put it in direct competition with the likes of the NZXT Kraken X72 360 and ASUS ROG Ryujin 360 .

If you have come across Alphacool in the past, it’s probably because you have some experience with custom water-cooling, rather than AIO coolers. For a while now, Alphacool has been introducing products under its Eisbaer range which are aimed at bridging the gap between maintenance-free AIOs, and custom loops.

These pre-built, pre-filled units share a lot in common with custom water-cooling loops, primarily in that they can be disassembled or expanded. With the Alphacool Eisbaer Extreme priced at just under £230, is it worth the money?

The post Deepcool Gamer Storm Captain 240 PRO Review first appeared on KitGuru.]]>
You'd be excused for confusing the Deepcool Captain 240 EX with the new Captain 240 PRO, as both share the same distinct CPU block aesthetic. There is a more noticeable difference in price, though, given the Captain 240 PRO retails for £119.99, making it almost £30 dearer than current pricing of the Captain 240 EX. The Captain 240 PRO does have more features to justify the higher price, however, including the addition of addressable RGB LEDs and Deepcool's new patented Anti-leak Tech.

The post Thermaltake Water 3.0 360 ARGB Sync Review first appeared on KitGuru.]]>
There's a lot to unpack from the name of the Thermaltake Water 3.0 360 ARGB Sync. The ‘360' obviously refers to its 360mm radiator, and we know ARGB = Addressable RGB lighting. The ‘Sync' aspect references software compatibility for the Water 3.0 360 with current motherboards, and it’s great to see that the cooler supports ASUS Aura Sync, GIGABYTE RGB Fusion, MSI Mystic Light Sync, and AsRock Polychrome software.

Priced at £158.99, this is not the cheapest liquid cooler we've ever seen – there are a few 360mm AIO coolers on the market for a little less, with some closer to the £110 mark. That being said, it will be interesting to see how the additional £50 is justified, whether it is with features or sheer performance.

Specification:

  • Model: Water 3.0 360 ARGB Sync
  • Radiator Material: Aluminum
  • Radiator Dimensions: 394 × 120 x 27mm
  • Tubing Length: 400mm
  • Tubing Material: Rubber

The post SilverStone Tundra Series TD02-RGB Review first appeared on KitGuru.]]>
When reviewing AIO liquid coolers, thermal performance is paramount, but aesthetics and even the addition of some form of lighting can sweeten the deal. For an AIO liquid cooler, it looks like the SilverStone Tundra Series TD02-RGB is ticking all the right boxes with a large 240mm radiator to help with heat dissipation, and full RGB lighting across the fans and pump.

At £59.99 it also seems to offer very good value for money, but it will be interesting to see how the SilverStone TD02-RGB compares to similar 240mm AIO offerings tested previously.

The post Asus ROG Ryujin 360 Review – an AIO with an OLED screen? first appeared on KitGuru.]]>
The all in one cooler market does appear to have become a little stagnant in recent years – most companies use Asetek designs which all perform pretty similarly. There is some scope to make improvements via LED or RGB lighting, a route most manufacturers tend to follow, but ASUS has opted to try and push performance even further. This can be seen through the inclusion of Noctua NF-F12 fans with the Ryujin 360, as well as a small 1.77” OLED screen for displaying system details and even custom GIFs.

ASUS' ambition to tackle the high-end AIO cooling market is clear, but with new, advanced features, naturally comes a higher price. At £249.95 It’s by no means a budget solution, and actually one of the dearer AIO solutions available today, but do these new features justify this higher price?

Specification:

  • Model: ROG Ryujin 360
  • Radiator Material: Aluminum
  • Radiator Dimensions: 394 × 121 x 27mm
  • Tubing Length: 380mm
  • Fan Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 25 mm

The post Raijintek ORCUS 240 Liquid CPU Cooler Review first appeared on KitGuru.]]>
When it comes to coolers, Raijintek has always done things a little differently and the Orcus 240 is no exception. Compared to other AIO liquid coolers available the Orcus 240's CPU block features a small porthole window through which you can see a liquid flow indicator, certainly a useful inclusion to ensure everything is running smoothly, and the pump, rather than being installed in either the block, or the radiator is in line, running midway down the tubing.

The Orcus 240 is also maintainable, with an inlet for topping up the coolant which really sets it apart from the competition but following similar current trends still comes complete with RGB fans, and RGB LEDs built into the CPU block. Priced at £89.99 you do seem to get quite a bit of bang for your buck, but it will be really interesting to see if these unique features actually aid in performance or functionality, or if there’s a reason Raijintek is the only manufacturer implementing them.

The post Corsair H100i Platinum RGB CPU Cooler Review first appeared on KitGuru.]]>
Corsair has been the market leader in the AIO liquid cooling market for a number of years offering a really varied range of not only smaller coolers for small form factor builds, but also much larger 280mm and 360mm variants for those chasing best performance.

Lots of manufacturers are packaging LEDs, and RGB functionality into their cooler, Corsair being no exception, but the new Corsair Hydro Series H100i adds to their product ”Platinum” which as with power supplies suggests an air of supremacy. Two versions are available – the 240mm H100i priced at £124.99, and 280mm at £139.99 but with slightly better compatibility. We decided to take a look at the H100i, so let's see how it holds up in our testing.
