Rumours of Apple's demise may be premature, however there is no doubt since Steve Jobs died that the company aren't in such a strong position. Apple shares hit a 52 week low in March this year and many analysts feel that the creative product explosion under Jobs control is now resigned to history.

Nolan Bushnell, Atari founder has written a new e-book called ‘Finding the Next Steve Jobs'.

Bushnell, founder of the videogame company Atari starts the book 33 years ago when he bought a house in Paris. At the time he was flush with cash and the property he wanted was near the Eiffel Tower.

The six story, 15,000 square foot mansion had marble staircases and a swimming pool in the basement. When he held a house party, former Atari employee Steve Jobs made an appearance. Bushnell had turned down a one third ownership deal with Apple at the time, a mistake he still regrets.

He says in the book “I still didn’t feel too bad that I had turned down a one-third ownership of Apple. Although I was beginning to think it might turn out to be a mistake.”

Bushnell and Jobs spent a day walking in Paris and chatting in cafes about the creativity in business. Jobs was pondering where to take the four year old Apple Computer Inc. at the time.

Bushnell said that conversation because the basis for what he calls a guide on “how to find, hire, keep and nurture creative talent.”

The book is available now from publisher Netminds.

Kitguru says: Will Apple continue their success story under the control of Tim Cook.? The next 2 years are critical.
