With it being such a major player in the video games industry, it is unsurprising to see just how often Fortnite details leak. Ahead of the game’s second Season of Chapter 4, many of the biggest changes and additions coming with this update have now been shared by insiders, revealing that the season will be called “MEGA” and is Japanese Sci-Fi inspired.

As reported and collated by FutureGameReleases, Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 has now leaked ahead of time, offering nearly a dozen details and changes fans can expect when the new Season drops most likely at some point this week (following the conclusion of Chapter 4 Season 1 on the 8th of March).

We have already reported on the fact that the next Season of Fortnite will bring with it the long-rumoured first-person mode. Many more details have since leaked, claiming that the Season will be called “MEGA” and that it will be inspired by a futuristic neo-Tokyo / Japan. In terms of new locations, the Fortnite island will see the addition of a Neo-Tokyo point of interest as well as a Lucky Landing V2 POI.

Of course, the new Season will also introduce new weapons in the form of Katanas and swords while also adding additional weapons from pre-existing categories such as a new Shotgun and Pistol.

The final few details known so far includes the addition of futuristic motorbikes, “glowing tubes you slide on as mobility while holding your weapon” as well as “Legendary augments that reboot you when you die, increase your max shield or give you siphon.”

We have seen live-service titles shutting down left and right, yet Fortnite remains as strong as ever – undoubtedly aided by the sheer amount of new content introduced each Season. It will be interesting to see what else is new when Fortnite Chapter 4 Season2 is officially announced.

During the buildup to Fortnite’s black hole and chapter two reveal, there were several leaks spoiling the reveal, including a screenshot of the brand new map. A few weeks ago, Epic Games filed a lawsuit against one former tester in connection to the leak and now, a second former tester is also being sued for damages over $85,000.

The original lawsuit was filed in North Carolina in the US against one of Epic's own in-house testers. The second lawsuit is being filed in Quebec Superior Court against a former employee at Keywords Studios, a third-party contracted support studio for Epic Games. The court filings allege that this second tester was “responsible for the publication of highly confidential information”.

Apparently the Canadian tester did admit to taking a screenshot of Fortnite Chapter 2 content and emailed it to himself prior to the update's official unveiling, but he claimed that he did not know how it ended up online. During an internal investigation at Keyword Studios, it was found that this particular tester was friends with the person who leaked screenshots on the Fortnite Competition Forum.

This tester was promptly fired on the 13th of September, just one day after the leaks went live. Due to the NDA violation, Epic Games is seeking damages over $85,000 and will likely be seeking a similar amount in the original US lawsuit filing.

KitGuru Says: Epic Games is always quick to take legal action when it comes to Fortnite, whether it is against leakers, cheaters or those developing and selling cheat tools. In these cases, hefty fines are very likely, as there is evidence of an NDA being broken.

During the buildup to Fortnite’s black hole and chapter two reveal, there were several leaks indicating that a new map was coming. Now after some investigating, Epic Games is suing a former Fortnite User Experience Tester for leaking details about the big update.

Polygon was able to get hold of the court documents, which were filed in North Carolina this week. The lawsuit claims that the game tester broke NDA  after playing the new map in September. Then, he allegedly used multiple accounts to leak the new map, as well as other mechanical details, like the addition of swimming, boats and upgrade stations.

The lawsuit goes on to say: “Information is currency. Sykes cashed in on what he learned as a user experience tester for Epic. He did so at the expense of Epic and those in the Fortnite community.”

Epic also adds that the leaks diminished the anticipation for the new update and ruined the big reveal for fans.

As you would expect from an NDA breach lawsuit, Epic Games is seeking damages in an amount that is still to be determined. Epic says the leaks have and will continue to cause damage to the studio. In addition to money, Epic also wants to ensure that any and all copies of ‘trade secrets’ possessed by the leaker are destroyed.

KitGuru Says: Non disclosure agreements are no joke and as long as Epic has evidence that the leaks came from this specific tester, then there is unlikely a way to get out of this one unless a settlement agreement is offered. If you are ever in a game tester position, you are much better off not risking your future by leaking details.

Love it or hate it, there’s no denying the popularity of Fortnite. The third person Battle Royale phenomenon recently sucked its entire world into a black hole at the conclusion of season X, and was consequently watched by over 7 million people across Twitch, Twitter, and Youtube.

On the 13th of October, Fortnite concluded its 10th season, ‘Season X‘ by literally swallowing the entire world into a black hole. For the next two days Fortnite remained inaccessible to everyone, showing nothing but a black hole whenever the game was launched.

Of course, while we now know that Epic Games was paving the way for Fortnite Chapter 2, at the time, the future of Fortnite was unknown. This strategic form of marketing seemed to have worked in Epic’s favour, as the event managed to break viewing records on multiple platforms.

Epic Games, speaking to IGN, confirmed that the ‘End of Fortnite’ event achieved over 7 million viewers. On Twitch, the event reached a “peak concurrent record on a single game category with 1.7 million concurrent views”. The event became the most viewed gaming event on Twitter, with 1.4 million concurrent viewers and 42.8 million views in total. The End of Fortnite achieved over 4.3 million concurrent viewers on YouTube, for a total of over 7 million on all 3 platforms.

It seems like the decision to release Chapter 2 alongside a new map, new mechanics, and backed up by other major and minor changes was perfectly timed, as the month prior to Chapter 2’s release, Fortnite had its lowest monthly revenue since November 2017.

The release of Fortnite Chapter 2 has certainly helped boost the game back into the minds of gamers everywhere. How long this will last though, only time will tell.

KitGuru says: What did you think of “The End of Fortnite”? Has chapter 2 brought you back to the game? Or is the Battle Royale genre simply not your thing? Let us know down below.

An apparent leak by Apple seem to suggest Fortnite “Chapter 2” could be on its way. However, the game's developer is yet to confirm the release date of season 11 for the popular Battle Royal shooter.

A leak from Apple’s Italian App Store suggests some huge changes to the battle Royal mode could be introduced in Fortnite season 11 sometime in the near future. An image popped up in the App store briefly but has since been removed.

The leaked App Store listing published on Twitter by Fortnite: Battle Royal Leaks contained images of players looking across a river with boats and a blurry building in the distance. The images didn't look like any location in the current map, so this could mean a play area is coming in Chapter 2, which some players feel is long overdue.

Fortnite season 10 has already brought some big changes to the game, with rifts appearing, playing havoc with time and a special event to mark the end of the season – an ending which suggests things won’t be quite the same at the beginning of the next chapter.

The image was quickly removed from the App Store not long after it was published – the content in the images remains unconfirmed. However, the listing itself looked authentic as the reviews icon and additional images checked out, along with the Chapter 2 image confirmed as being seen and archived by multiple users before being pulled down.

Kitguru says: Although the Italian Apple App Store listing could still turn out to be fake, multiple users archiving the images online points to that not being the case, which could mean Fortnite players have some new features to look forward to in the next chapter.

It's rare that video game adaptations of famous movies are that good, but I feel like John Wick was similar enough to a shooter that it could translate rather well – especially in VR. Payday developer Starbreeze is currently working on a full length John Wick VR game, called Eye for an Eye and it showed it off for the first time at last weekend's New York Comic Con.

To give it it's full title, John Wick Chronicles: An Eye for an Eye, the game puts you in the shoes of the legendary assassin, taking on a number of enemies in roomscale locations, with plenty of cover and a wide variety of matt black weapons to fire. Although there are nods to previous Starbreeze developments, this one is very much in tune with the John Wick universe, so there's that gritty neo-noir feel to its art style and setting.

[yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPE7d_MHXfQ']

While it's hard to get a real feel of what a virtual reality game is like, comments from developers and the public who tried it, seem to suggest that it's a fun experience. While the graphics don't look anything too special when viewed in a 2D video, from past experience with VR shooters, we can imagine that it looks pretty fantastic when you're in there.

Although potentially this could be made compatible with the Oculus Touch, for now the game is only listed as supporting the HTC Vive.

Set for release in February alongside the new movie, John Wick: Chapter 2, Starbreeze's VR take on the universe can be pre-ordered now and if you do so, you get a free copy of Payday 2 and a John Wick weapon pack.

KitGuru Says: This looks pretty fun. While it may turn out to be a location based wave shooter, if it captures the feel of John Wick, I'm more than ready go gun down some dog killers and those that protect them.
