Invited down to a glamorous hotel in central London by YOYOTech to see ‘The Resurgence of PC Gaming', KitGuru was intrigued. The Centerprise performance PC brand was certainly acting confident, but in the face of recent IDC and Gartner reports, was that confidence mis-placed?  Ignoring the wine and nibbles, we went in search of facts. This is what we came back with.

As an organisation, Centerprise has some serious history. Its owner, Rafi Razzak has been supplying various parts of the British Government/MoD with systems for more than 20 years.

Speaking to a collective audience of press and manufacturers at the YOYOTech event, Rafi was keen to point out that the world of PC gaming was now coming very close to a genuine ‘in-battle experience'.

.
As a result, Centerprise is being asked for more and more simulation systems by its main customers.

On show was a pretty realistic Cessena light aircraft system – that would not break the (MoD's) bank. It's light, portable and easy to set up.

.
The event itself was well attended and YOYOTech's Managing Director, CK, set about the task of explaining how he sees the market.

While accepting that IDC's prediction for a flat market overall was accurate, CK told the audience “300 million PCs shipping worldwide every year, is still a huge number”.

Given that the larger UK-based system builders would be happy with a market that went up by just 5-10,000 a year, you can see his point.

“Then there is the increase in gaming hardware that's being predicted for the next 3 years to consider”, he said. “Reports from organisations like Jon Peddie predict that there will be an increase in overall, global gaming hardware spend of close to $200 million a year over each of the next 3 years”.

Sure, that will include a skew toward the new consoles, but YOYOTech believes that the spend will cascade into high end PC hardware as well.

KitGuru says: We will be bringing you more on this event shortly – including new ranges that you can expect to see in the near future and a quick look at Intel's thoughts on the PC gaming market over the next few years.

UK specialist system builder, YOYOTech, today announces the opening of a brand new production facility and web site as part of a huge expansion plan following the takeover by Centerprise International. This is what today's announcement told us.

According to a press statement, YOYOTech was established more than a decade ago in the heart of London and has been the goto store for many enthusiasts – both here in the capital and as far away as Dubai. Having taken world speed records for PC performance on several occasions with the famous FI7EPOWER range, YOYOTech’s dedicated team of specialists has always focused on the very latest in customisation, cooling and overclocking.

To celebrate the double launch, YOYOTech is making some limited edition, ‘Yellow Label' deals available here.

“We are very proud of our new partnership with Centerprise International”, said YOYOTech founder CK. “Having the full backing of one of the country’s largest distributors will change the way we are able to do business forever”.

“Our special thanks go to Centerprise’s founder Rafi Razzak and his CEO Gary Stevens. It was their vision on how to grow and develop YOYOTech into the number one performance brand in the market that made all of this possible”, he explained.

Asked about the new premises, CK said, “It is amazing, on a scale that we would never have dreamed before. Our Tottenham Court Road store was always popular, especially with enthusiasts in the early evening or at weekends”, he explained. “But there was a limit to what we could do in terms of offering overclocked and customised systems to a wider market. There simply wasn’t enough space to expand the way we wanted to. Now all of that has changed. The new premises means that YOYOTech is able to implement all of its plans from the past 10 years – both home and abroad – and this is something that we’re really excited about”, he said. “We have always loved to compete with the major companies, and now it’s time for the gloves to come off!”.

The new web site is cleaner, simple and far more powerful, with four main categories.

“Pure performance enthusiasts have the XDNA range, our Warbird section contains a host of powerful gaming systems, our affordable home systems are all under the Virtue brand and – finally – we have a full range of solutions for professional users in the Proteus section”, he said.

According to CK, Opening up a huge production centre and unveiling the new web site is just the start of the revolution that YOYOTech is engaged in delivering through Centerprise.

The new site is certainly cleaner, but lots of punters will miss the old Tottenham Court Road store

KitGuru says: It's always good to see local brands doing well and this merging with Centerprise opens up a lot of opportunities for YOYOTech and could have a significant impact on the UK market next year.
