Easter is just around the corner, which means we are starting to see new deals popping up. CyberpowerPC has a particularly good one at the moment, with a well spec'd and fairly priced RTX 4080-powered gaming rig.

The new CyberpowerPC Ultra 77 X8S PC is now available, packing an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor, often hailed as the best CPU for gaming on the market today. Joining this powerhouse processor is an MSI RTX 4080 Super graphics card, setting you up for high refresh rate gaming, even at 4K resolution. You'll also benefit from Nvidia's latest features, like DLSS 3, which can supercharge frame rates using AI.

The whole PC is expertly built, with clean cable management and ARGB fans throughout, housed in a Corsair 4000D airflow chassis, so you shouldn't see any temperature issues arising.

The full spec for this PC can be found below:

  • Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow Gaming Case – Black
  • Fans & ARGB Upgrades: 4x CyberPowerPC Hyperloop 120mm ARGB & PWM Fan Kit
  • CPU (Processor): AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D – 8-Core 4.20GHz, 5.00GHz Turbo – 96MB L3 Cache Processor w/ Radeon Graphics
  • Graphics Card (GPU): MSI GeForce RTX™ 4080 SUPER – 16GB GDDR6X – HDMI, DP – Real-Time Ray Tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 3 (Single Card)
  • CPU Cooling: Be Quiet Dark Rock Slim Air Cooler
  • Motherboard: MSI PRO B650-S WIFI: ATX w/ Wi-Fi 6E, USB 3.2, 2x M.2
  • Memory (RAM): 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5/5200mhz Corsair Vengeance Memory
  • PSU (Power Supply): InWin P85FII 850W 80+ Gold ATX 3.0 Gaming Power Supply
  • Primary Storage (NVMe Drives): 2TB WD Green SN350 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD – 3200MB/s Read & 3200MB/s Write (1 Drive)

Naturally, there are a number of customisation options available, so you can add in a monitor, add extra storage drives or even kit the system out with a capture card so you can jump straight into streaming or capturing game footage for video content.

With its standard spec, this PC costs £2199 (with VAT). There are other Easter deals available too, with RTX 4070 Super PCs found at around £1679, or an RTX 4060-equipped gaming PC for under £900. You can find all of CyberpowerPC's deals, HERE.

Additionally, those ordering before the 4th of April will be in for a chance to receive a golden ticket with their order, which can be redeemed for a free chocolate hamper, so you can have some snacks ready to go for some evening gaming.

The RTX 4070 Super has been out for just a few weeks. At its launch MSRP of £579, we found it to be the best value RTX 40-series card available but surprisingly, prices are already starting to drop a bit.

While the Founder's Edition RTX 4070 Super carries the MSRP price tag of £579, most custom-cooled cards from board partners do sell at higher prices. In the case of the Zotac RTX 4070 Super Twin Edge graphics card though, you can save money over the MSRP price.

Currently on Overclockers UK, this RTX 4070 Super model is selling for £539.99, around £40 lower than the MSRP price, making it one of the most wallet-friendly RTX 4070 cards available at the moment.

The RTX 4070 Super first launched in mid January, offering nice boost over the original RTX 4070, offering about 15% more performance for the same money – and you can see our full review HERE.

The Xbox Series X is three years old now, which means we're finally starting to see meaningful holiday season sales for the system. For Black Friday this year, Microsoft has slashed the price of the Xbox Series X on Amazon, bringing it down from £480 to £359.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to get Prime delivery, as Amazon has swiftly sold out of its available stock, but more are on the way. You can still add the console to your basket at its deal price of £359, but it may not arrive for a couple of weeks. Considering how close we are to Christmas, we'd expect the backlog of orders to continue growing so if this is something you want to get your hands on, you may want to act fast.

While the Xbox console doesn't really have much in the way of true game exclusives, as all first-party games now launch on PC too, the Series X does offer a great amount of power and performance for its price. You would struggle to build a gaming PC capable of 4K gaming with a similar budget.

Alternatively, the Xbox Series S can also be found at a discount at the moment, bringing the price down to £189 for the 512GB model and unlike the Series X, there is stock available with Prime Delivery.

Black Friday is still a few weeks away but Cyberpower is kicking things off early in the UK with some deep discounts on four popular gaming PCs, making the jump to the latest graphics cards more bearable on your bank account.

The cheapest system in the line-up is the Ultra 45 BF01 gaming PC, coming in at £769, featuring a Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card, a 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD and a Ryzen 5 4500 processor. If you'd rather have something a bit more current-gen, then you can find the Infinity X119 BF04 Gaming PC for £1049, packing an Intel Core i9-11900KF and an RX 7900 GRE graphics card instead.

If you are looking for something a bit more high-end, then you can find the Infinity X119 BF02 and BF03 gaming PCs priced at £1439. The BF02 sports an Intel Core i9-11900KF processor, a 1TB NVMe SSD and an Nvidia RTX 4070 graphics card, while the BF03 swaps out the RTX 4070 for a Radeon RX 7900 GRE instead.

Cyberpower also has some discounts on MSI gaming laptops if you prefer something more portable. You can find all of Cyberpower's Black Friday deals, HERE.

The Xbox Series S was already a good deal, offering a low £250 entry point to the new generation of consoles. Today during Amazon Prime Day, the console can be had at its cheapest price yet, just £150.

If you are quick, you can get an Xbox Series S from Amazon right now for £149.99. You'll get the white edition console and a controller. Unfortunately, there are no games included and we do not know if the console will ship with a Game Pass trial code, so that is something to keep in mind.

The trade-off here is that this is a ‘certified refurbished' Xbox Series S, so it isn't necessarily a ‘brand new' console but for all intents and purposes, it should look and function like one.

This deal follows last year's blockbuster Black Friday deal, which saw a brand new Xbox Series S dropping to £189.99 just in time for Christmas. If you wait a few more months, we may see a deal similar to that if you'd prefer a brand new console, rather than a refurbished one.

Sales season is in full swing and we've been checking around to gather up the best deals our readers might be interested in. MSI has a wide range of discounts currently available, so you can save a good chunk of money across a wide range of products.

MSI's Black Friday deals include up to £200 off its larger, 30+ inch gaming monitors, like the Optix MPG321QRF-WD (down from £699 to £498.95) and the Optix Mag321QR, which is down from £449 to £349. Microsoft made the bold choice to launch two next-gen consoles two years ago, a powerful, full-priced Xbox Series X, and a cut-down version of the console, the Xbox Series S. The Series S was already a good deal for a new-gen console at its £250 price point, but for Black Friday, you can grab the console for under £200.

The Xbox Series S isn't as powerful as the Series X, so most games don't target 4K and instead will run at 1080p or 1440p. While some games have more limited performance/graphics capabilities, many still do offer a 60FPS option even on the cheaper console.

For Black Friday, Amazon UK is dropping the price of the Xbox Series S by £60, bringing it down to £189.99. That extra money can be used to pick up new games, but do keep in mind that the Series S is a digital-only console, so perhaps a 3-month or 6-month Xbox Game Pass code would be a good way to use the extra money too.

The Xbox Series X doesn't look to be getting a price drop this year. However, if you have a good internet connection, you can use Xbox Cloud Gaming on the Series S, which taps into Series X servers, thus granting you access to higher graphics and performance options.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: At under £200, the Series S is going to sell a ton this holiday season. It might not be as powerful as the Series X, but it will play all the same games and serves as a cheap jumping-on point to new-gen console gaming.

We're months away from the launch of Zen 4 and next-gen Ryzen desktop processors, but the current Ryzen 5000 series processors are still great options for a CPU upgrade. Currently, pricing for the high-end Ryzen 5000 series chips has dropped considerably too.

While reviewing the Ryzen 7 5800X3D recently, we made a note of current prices for the Ryzen 5800X and 5950X, versus the competition from Intel. Currently, the Core i7-12700K comes in at £380 and the Core i9-12900K is £550, meanwhile, we are seeing some very competitive prices for the top-end Ryzen chips.

At Overclockers UK currently, the 8-core Ryzen 7 5800X is down from £389.99 to £319.99, while the 12-core Ryzen 5900X has dropped from £529.99 to £359.99. Finally, the top-end, 16-core Ryzen 9 5950X is down from £730 to £499.99.

This follows on from the recent launch of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, the first Ryzen processor with 3D Cache. Currently, that processor should cost around £410 in the UK.

We've seen multiple laptops and 2-in-1 PCs with ARM-based processors running Windows, but they've all had one thing in common – Qualcomm processors. This week, we finally found out why this has been the case. As it turns out, Microsoft and Qualcomm hashed out an exclusivity deal for Windows on Arm.

Although this deal was supposedly signed a long time ago, we've only learned about it recently, thanks to XDA. Apparently, the deal is expiring soon, meaning we should see other ARM chip manufacturers jumping in, including MediaTek, which is already reportedly working on a chip for that purpose.

Besides MediaTek, there's also a chance that we will see Samsung trying to snatch a piece of the market share, as well as Apple. The exclusivity deal may have gotten in the way of offering Windows support on M1-based Macs.

As this deal is coming to an end, the much-talked Windows transition to ARM might speed up considerably. It's still not clear exactly when the deal will expire, but it would seem that more ARM chip makers will have a chance to offer support for Windows in the near future.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru says: It is odd that a deal like this is only just becoming public knowledge now, but either way, once the deal expires, we should see a big influx in Arm-based systems running Windows.

Black Friday has officially arrived and with it, there are a ton of new deals floating around, making this weekend a great time to pick up a laptop. We've been on the lookout for the best Black Friday gaming laptop deals in the UK.

Gaming Laptops:

If you are in the market for a new laptop, then the MSI GL65 featuring an RTX 2060, Intel Core i7 and a 120Hz display is down to £1,099.99 at the moment. You can also find the MSI GF65 with a GTX 1660Ti and a 120Hz display for £999.95. The Acer Predator Helios 300 kicks things up a notch with a GTX 1660Ti, 10th Gen Intel Core i7 and a 144Hz display for £1,049.99.

There are a number of Razer Blade laptops with discounts available this week too. That includes 31% off the Razer Blade 15 Base Model and a massive £700 saving on the Razer Blade Pro 17.

The Razer Blade Pro 17 is a high-end gaming laptop, sporting an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, an RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU and a 300Hz display. Normally, this laptop would cost £2,299, but for Black Friday, the price has been knocked all the way down to £1,599.98. You don’t just get the laptop though, a bundle of Razer goodies are also thrown in with the laptop at its discounted price, including a Razer Kraken X Lite headset, Viper mouse and Cynosa Lite keyboard.

An equivalently high-end gaming laptop is the Acer Predator Triton 500, with an RTX 2080 Super, 16GB of memory and an Intel Core i7 CPU. Normally, this laptop would cost £2,499.95 but is currently down to £1,999.99 for Black Friday.

If you are looking to spend less than £1,500, then there are some solid options. The Asus ROG STRIX G15 packs an RTX 2070, an Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB of memory and a 144Hz display for £1,349.99. The RTX 2060 equivalent G15 laptop is also on sale for £1,199.99.

The cheapest RTX 2060 powered laptop seems to be the Lenovo Legion 5i, which also packs a 1080p/144Hz IPS display, an Intel Core i5 processor and 8GB of memory, for £899.99.

A while back, we had the opportunity to review the excellent ThermalTake Floe DX 360 AIO liquid cooler, assessing its cooling capabilities, noise output and of course, the fancy ARGB lighting. At the time, we gave it our highest award and now, the cooler is down to its lowest price ever.

During our review, which you can read here, we praised this cooler for its build quality, easy installation, cooling performance and excellent use of RGB. We thought it was worth grabbing before at its £214.99 price tag, but this week, ThermalTake is running a promotion, knocking the price down to £159.99.

It is still an expensive all-in-one liquid cooler, but it is also amongst the best. If you feel like picking one up for your own rig, then you can find that deal HERE.

Recently, ThermalTake's new ‘NeonMaker‘ software suite was also updated with support for this cooler, so there is even better software support for RGB enthusiasts.

It's deals galore on PC components and system this weekend, MSI is offering some great discounts on its GL series gaming laptops and now Overclockers UK is getting in on the act with an exclusive deal to save gamers £200 on Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti Graphics.

For a limited time, Overclockers UK is offering a huge discount on the beastly Asus RTX 2080 Ti Strix OC graphics card. The Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti is currently the cream of the crop when it comes to PC gaming performance and the Asus Strix OC version was priced at an eye-watering £1500 when it was launched. During this offer period at OcUK, customers will be able to pick up the Asus RTX 2080 Ti Strix OC for just £1,199.

The Asus RTX 2080 Ti Strix OC is the current flagship Nvidia graphics card from Asus and packs some serious gaming performance. During our review back when the card launched, it topped just about all the charts in our tests and is still one of the most powerful graphics cards for PC gaming today. Whether you are looking for high FPS or high-resolution gaming, the RTX 2080 Ti excels in all areas.

Due to its excellent cooling solution, the Asus RTX 2080 Ti Strix OC can handle a hefty overclock too. As we found during the review, to push the FPS a little higher in games an overclock of around 140MHz should be possible. For those who don’t fancy messing with overclocks, Asus has equipped the RTX 2080 Ti Strix OC with a dual BIOS feature that adjusts performance and fan profiles to suit user preference.

As well as offering the best PC gaming performance, the Asus RTX 2080 Ti Strix OC looks great too. Its stealthy and understated matte black fan shroud provides a neutral appearance that should not clash with any system theme, while the three zones of RGB lighting add a little style for those users who prefer a little RGB customisation to brighten up the mood.

For more details on the Asus RTX 2080 Ti Strix OC graphics card and to pick up this great deal at OcUK, head over to the official Overlockers product page.

KitGuru says: If you have been tempted to upgrade to Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti graphics power for some time but have been waiting for the right deal to come along, maybe this is the time to pull the trigger?

The Epic Games Store is continuing its promise of offering free games to users of its store. This time around it’s Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, and >observer_ which are up for grabs.

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is a standalone DLC that was released in 2012, following the popularity of the 2010 cult hit action-adventure game “Alan Wake”. Developed by Remedy Entertainment, it received somewhat favourable reviews at the time, in-line with that of the original game, although as the years progressed it has become somewhat of a cult classic. Alan Wake was offered as a free game by Epic back at the beginning of August. If you picked it up at the time, then this week’s offering will serve as a perfect companion.

The second game offered by Epic is >observer_. It’s a cyberpunk horror game developed by Bloober Team, the same team behind the ‘Layers of Fear’ franchise. The game, released in 2017, garnered a favourable response from both critics and fans.

Both Alan Wake’s American Nightmare and >observer_ fit comfortably into the horror genre, and as Halloween is rapidly approaching, there is no better time to get into these games.

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, and >observer_ will be available for free until the 24th of October. Epic have also confirmed which games will be available from the 24th onwards – Layers of Fear: Masterpiece Edition, and Q.U.B.E.2 will be next. You have until the 24th of October to pick the current offerings. Once purchased, they will be in your library forever, so don’t worry about needing to complete them in a week.

KitGuru says: Have you played either of these games already, or did you miss these two gems back when they were first released? Let us know down below.

Amazon Prime Day has officially kicked off today and there are already some excellent deals starting to show up. If you are looking for a PC gaming upgrade, then today would be a good day to start shopping around. In this post, we break down the best SSDs currently discounted, including SATA and M.2 versions in capacities up to 2TB!

We will start off with Samsung and WD. Today's Prime Day deals see the Samsung 860 EVO 1TB Sata SSD at 62 percent off, bringing the price down to just £99.99. Since this is a Sata SSD, you will be getting a typical read speed of 550MB/s, which is solid for the money. If you are after a speedier M.2 SSD, then the Western Digital SN750 NVMe SSD is on sale today, you can get a 500GB version with transfer speeds of up to 3470MB/s for £105.

While these aren't strictly Prime Day deals, Crucial and Corsair also have some sensibly priced SSDs available right now. The Crucial MX 500 for instance is available in 500GB form for just £60, 1TB for £100 or 2TB for £200. On the Corsair side of things, you can get an M.2 MP300 240GB SSD for £44, a 480GB for £74 or a 960GB version for £145. Since these are all M.2 drives, there is a speed advantage over SATA, with read speeds of up to 1600MB/s.

KitGuru Says: There will be more deals coming up throughout the week so we'll have a few more updated round-ups as things progress. Tomorrow in particular should be an interesting day for PC hardware. Let us know if any of you end up picking something up!

If you've been on the edge about upgrading your rig so far this year, then this might finally be the time to take the leap as this week, the excellent Ryzen 7 1700X is going on sale in the UK.

AMD's popular 8-core chip has had its price cut down to £289.99 at Overclockers UK and Scan starting from today. Usually, the Ryzen 7 1700X sells for closer to the £330 mark, so this is a decent saving. The price cut doesn't last forever though, the price will go back up from the 25th of September onwards, so you have two weeks in total to take advantage.

Back when we reviewed the Ryzen 7 1700X we gave it our ‘MUST HAVE' award, praising it for its superb price to performance ratio compared to Intel's Broadwell-E offerings at the time. We also managed to overclock our chip to Ryzen 7 1800X levels, so there is additional performance you can squeeze out of it.

If you fancy taking advantage, you can find the Ryzen 7 1700X at Overclockers UK HERE. Or at Scan, HERE.

KitGuru Says: Given how much praise Ryzen has been receiving, it has got me contemplating whether to make the switch as well. Are any of you planning on building a new rig soon? Will you be picking up a Ryzen 7 1700X?

The Verizon Yahoo buyout deal is still likely going ahead for somewhere in the region of several billion dollars, but that doesn't mean they've settled on a price. Indeed closing in on a year on from the initial announcement, Verizon is still looking to pay less for internet giant in the wake of several hacks and security breach announcements at the end of 2016.

The initial purchase price for Yahoo was going to be in the region of $5 billion, but when it was announced that hundreds of millions of Yahoo customers have been affected by a couple of security breaches over the preceding years, the talk was that Verizon would be slashing a billion from its offer. Negotiations have been ongoing since then though and it now seems like Verizon may settle with trimming ‘just' $300 million from its original offer (thanks Reuters).

It seems likely now that the final purchase price for Yahoo will be in the region of $4.5 billion, which is far from its once peak of $125 billion during the dotcom bubble.

Source: Wikimedia

The plan for Yahoo is to combine it with resources from other Verizon purchases like AOL, to create a new entity called Altaba. It will be a conglomerate of many early internet franchises and businesses, including Yahoo email, messenger assets and search functions, as well as the company's reasonably strong online-advertising business.

It's not clear at this time if Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer will still receive her planned severance package of $55 million if the deal goes through.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: The most amazing part of this whole deal for me is Mayer's pay. She's received more than $200 million from Yahoo over the past four years, despite her ineffectiveness as the company's head. And now she might receive another $55 million just because the company is being sold. It's crazy when you consider a couple of thousand Yahoo employees have lost their jobs in recent years because of its downturn.

If you're a social networking user with any politically minded friends, then chances are over the past week you've been informed that there's something funny going on with Google results when looking up the Conservatives: they don't offer derogatory auto-complete choices. Some have suggested that this could be to do with a recent tax-deal made with the British government, but does that theory hold water?

The search term in question that have riled up conspiracy theorists and political commenters alike, is “Conservatives are,” which shows nothing in the auto-complete form on Google. In contrast, typing in “Labour are,” or “Lib dems are,” result in lots of disparaging comments, suggesting everything from them being done as political entities, to being a laughing matter.

Not so with the Conservatives it seems. So why is that?

conservativesare

The Guardian takes an interesting look at the whole thing, citing other incidents where Google censored auto-complete results. Searching for “Black people are,” or “Whites are,” results in a similar lack of search suggestions. Conservatism is a way of life for some people, not just a political entity, it points out. Perhaps that's why the results have been blanked?

But adding fuel to the conspiracy fire is the fact that the search for “Tories are,” also offers no auto-complete options. That is far stranger.

When contacted by reporters looking for comment on the story, Google uncharacteristically released a statement on the matter, stating quite “categorically that tax is not remotely connected to this, nor are their ‘conspiracy theories’ founded in any way.”

In many ways, this may read like a lame excuse, but it should be considered that while the aforementioned phrases don't elicit any auto-complete suggestions from Google, other phrases do. Simply changing the tense to the present with “Conservative party is,” gives you some similar suggestions to that of other parties. The same goes for other variants of the name.

Perhaps this is not so much conspiracy as coincidence.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: It all does seem highly suspect, but perhaps instead of wondering why Google has edited results about the Conservative party, we should instead consider why it arbitrarily adjusts search results at all. Google has more data than everyone, but it it looks to curtail access to some of it, that's a worrying precedent. It's been argued that ‘adult' or ‘hateful' results shouldn't be easily accessible, but is auto-complete really the route of all evil when it comes to the internet?
