You’ve got almost £2000 to spend on a laptop, you want it to run like a dream, crushing all your gaming desires as well as handling some work or editing on the go… but what laptop do you choose? Polish company Dream Machines wants you to look at their latest and greatest, the RG2070S-17EU31… OK, the name isn’t great at all but does the bad naming choice reflect the laptop’s performance? With an RTX 2070S 8GB, 10th Gen i7 and 16GB of RAM, let’s see what it’s made of!

Specifications:

  • Model name: RG2070S-17EU31
  • €2049.99 (approx £1855) + shipping
  • 3” FHD 1920×1080 WVA 100% sRGB 240Hz
  • 6 core Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.6GHz up to 5.0GHz in Turbo Boost
  • NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super 8GB
  • 16GB DDR4 2666 Mhz SO-DIMM
  • 1TB M.2 SSD
  • Super X-Fi Sound Blaster Atlas speakers
  • WiFi-6
  • 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen1
  • 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen2
  • 1x Mini Display 1.4 port
  • 1x HDMI port
  • 6-in-1 card reader
  • 399 x 275 x 29.9 mm
  • 2.9 Kg

Some great specs on paper, especially with the full-fat 2070 Super and a 240Hz panel, this is clearly going to be an absolute gaming beast but also looks like it will be excellent for productivity too with the 10th Gen i7, 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM.

It looks like Dream Machines made some great pairings with nothing out of the ordinary that I wasn’t expecting, but If money is no object and you want to max out the RAM and storage configurations then you can do so over on the Dream Machines website configurator… but obviously this will make it even more expensive.

With the specifications listed above you can see Dream Machines are marketing this as a higher-end gaming laptop, which is more of a desktop replacement than a portable machine. Despite it being a gaming laptop it’s actually, surprisingly, understated in regards to aesthetics. With an all-black stealthy design and only aggressive angles on the base of the laptop it will certainly be able to pass as a professional workstation as well as a gaming beast.

The latest mouse to come in for review is the Dream Machines DM1 Pro. A Polish company, you would be forgiven for not having heard of them. However, they supply laptops, speakers and mice so we were pleased to be sent the DM1 Pro mouse. Priced at £39 in the UK, it sports an ambidextrous design and optical sensor – but how does it fare in the real world?

With an appearance similar to that of the Ozone Neon 3K, I was intrigued to try out the Dream Machines DM1 Pro. It also features an illuminated logo and mousewheel, something that is more and more popular these days. So with an impressive spec on paper, let us dive right in to the review.
