The first six months following Cyberpunk 2077’s release were filled with bug fixes. We’ve known for a while now that CD Projekt is planning new content and a next-gen console patch for the second half of the year, which we may hear more on soon as the studio has begun teasing its “biggest update yet”.

Following on from Cyberpunk 2077’s 1.23 patch, the game has returned to the PlayStation Store and Microsoft is dropping its extended refund policy for the game on Xbox. At this point, CD Projekt Red says that the game has reached a “satisfying level” in terms of bug fixes, stability and performance.

As pointed out by DSO Gaming, CD Projekt Red is now teasing its “biggest update yet” for Cyberpunk 2077 and “more things to come” in an advertising campaign. With that in mind, we can expect some bigger announcements from CD Projekt Red soon.

At this point, Cyberpunk 2077 still has a series of free DLCs, a next-gen console upgrade patch and expansions due to be properly revealed.

KitGuru Says: CD Projekt Red’s 2021 roadmap for Cyberpunk 2077 has been vague, especially when it comes to the second half of the year. Hopefully this is indication that our questions will be answered soon.

We've already seen Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition in action on PCs with all the settings cranked up, but what can next-gen console owners expect? This week, the Metro Exodus enhanced update drops on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, aiming to deliver “the most comprehensive ray tracing experience” on a home console.

Most of the features found in the PC version of Metro Exodus Enhanced also appear on the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 version, with just two exceptions – DLSS 2.0 and advanced ray-traced reflections. Next-gen console players will still benefit from fully ray-traced lighting, emissive surfaces, ray-traced shadows and reflections.

Aside from the ray-traced lighting overhaul, the enhanced edition also adds 4K textures, an FoV slider and up to 60 frames per second gameplay. On the Xbox Series X and PS5, the game targets 4K/60 while on the Xbox Series S, the game will run at 1080p/60.

The Metro Exodus next-gen upgrade is now live across Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Those who own the Xbox One or PS4 version will get access for free.

KitGuru Says: I didn't expect so many ray-tracing features to carry over to the next-gen console version, but it seems 4A Games found a way. What do you all think of the next-gen version of Metro Exodus?

Today, Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition begins rolling out on PC, with totally reworked graphical features and ray-tracing effects. Next month, the Enhanced Edition update will also be coming to the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 consoles.

On the console side, the Enhanced Edition will offer ray-tracing on consoles for the first time, including ray traced emissive lighting. For the first time on console, Metro Exodus will also feature higher resolution and frame rate modes, as well as an FOV slider:

In the video above, we can see the Enhanced Edition in action running on an Xbox Series X. This particular version will run at 4K and 60 frames per second, as does the PS5 version. The Xbox Series S on the other hand will run the game at 1080p and 60 frames per second.

Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition launches on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 on the 18th of June. It will be a free update for all existing owners of the game. For those who don't own the game already, a new ‘Complete Edition' will be released, containing all the new enhancements and the two story expansions.

Back in February, 4A Games announced that it would be releasing an Enhanced Edition of Metro Exodus, complete with a ton of graphical upgrades. Now, just a couple of months later, we have our first look at the new version in action, as well as a release date.

Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition is coming on the 6th of May, as a free update to those who already own the game on PC. The enhancement list is huge, boasting re-worked ray-tracing effects, improved temporal reconstruction technology, emissive lighting, ray-traced reflections, 4K textures and support for Nvidia DLSS 2.0, a big upgrade over the original DLSS technology that shipped with Metro Exodus the first time around.

Below, you will find an extensive video from the folks at Digital Foundry showing off the Enhanced Edition in all of its glory:

The upgrade is so extensive that the game's minimum and recommended system requirements have been updated. As you can see in the image below, you are going to need a very powerful PC to max out this new version of the game.

Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition releases on PC on the 6th of May. The game will also be coming to next-gen consoles later this year and promises to run at 4K/60FPS.

Nightdive Studios has been quietly working away on System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition for a couple of years now alongside a complete remake of the original System Shock. One of the big bonuses coming with System Shock 2's remaster is VR support, which the developers have now confirmed after initially teasing earlier this year.

Back in January, Nightdive Studios teased VR support with a picture of the game being played with a VR controller. This was all in testing at the time, but now the developers are confident that they can indeed deliver full VR support for the game.

Speaking with IGN, Nightdive CEO, Stephen Kick, explained: “During the process of reverse-engineering the missing libraries for System Shock 2, we had an opportunity to play around with the idea of creating a standalone VR version, and so we brought on a VR expert to look about the cod and give us a brief idea of what kind of things we could do.”

The game will be fully playable in VR once it releases. This includes co-op gameplay, which is also cross-platform, so one player can be on a PC, while the other is wearing a VR headset. The team is also paying special attention to ensure this isn't viewed as a ‘tacked-on feature' by fleshing out the VR experience with specific mechanics. That includes freedom of movement, manual gun reloading and other features. The team is looking at Half-Life: Alyx for inspiration here, which is a great place to start, as Valve's VR flagship title is perhaps the best shooter currently available in VR.

KitGuru Says: I've been needing new single-player games like this to play on my VR headset, so this is exciting news. Are any of you looking forward to the System Shock 2 remaster? Is VR support going to be a selling point for you?

The folks at Nightdive Studios have been working on a crowdfunded remake of the original System Shock for some time now. The project has been through some ups and downs but appears to be back on track now. Before we get to the big remake though, it looks like we can expect a remaster of System Shock 2.

To celebrate the game’s 20th anniversary this week, Nightdive announced that it will be releasing System Shock 2 Enhanced Edition. There is no specific release date just yet, but the studio promises that it is ‘coming soon’.

This wouldn’t be the first time that System Shock 2 has had a re-release. Nightdive worked on bringing the game back up and running on modern systems back in 2013 but it looks like this new re-release will have a few more upgrades packed in.

This is just another part of Nightdive’s ambitious plan to bring the System Shock franchise back to the forefront. The original game is getting a complete remake, with a playable alpha version set to drop later this year. There has also been talk of System Shock 3 coming after the remake.

KitGuru Says: System Shock has a strong place in gaming history and many of us are excited to see it making a comeback. I am hoping that the remake does well, after all, it would be great to go from that straight into a long-awaited sequel.

CD Projekt Red’s content updates for The Witcher 3 have officially wrapped up and while we are getting a Game of the Year Edition next month, we won’t be getting the ‘Enhanced Edition’ that a few series fans had hoped for. However, one modder has taken things into their own hands and has released an all-encompassing mod to completely overhaul The Witcher 3’s mechanics and gameplay.

The Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition mod makes changes to the combat system, including how dodging and parrying works. New skills have also been added, alongside new potions and runes that can be used simultaneously for players to come up with new character builds.

The mod’s Nexus page has a table of contents going over all of the changes (and there are a lot of them), covering things like armour, vitality, meditation, battle preparation and just about every other core part of The Witcher 3.

The mod also ramps up the overall difficulty of the game so be prepared for a much tougher challenge if you choose to install it.

KitGuru Says: If you have already played through The Witcher 3 and feel like hopping back into the world with something new, then this mod could help with that.

We have seen some pretty crazy special editions of games over the years but Techland has really been pushing it with Dying Light. Not only was there a £250,000 edition of the game previously, which nabbed the buyer a custom-built zombie-proof shelter, but now there is a $10 million edition of the game.

Dying Light's Spotlight Edition costs $10 million and comes with the promise of a speaking role in a Dying Light movie that may not exist yet. You will also get some professional acting lessons from Rodger Craig Smith and get to go on the screening tour for Dying Light: The Movie.

gSl0R6INS_Os

It doesn't end there, you will get your own on-set trailer for the film, some stuntman/parkour training, an off-road driving course, an original copy of the script for the movie, an FX make-up session, ten VIP tickets to the film's opening night, a chance to voice act in Dying Light and finally, you will get four copies of the actual game.

Considering that we didn't really know that a Dying Light movie was even in the works, this special edition seems to offer a lot of ‘out of the blue' perks.

KitGuru Says: I would love to know if anyone buys these crazy special editions of games. I thought the £250K edition of Dying Light was crazy but the Spotlight Edition takes things to a whole new level.

Over the weekend, two retailers based in Europe posted listings for The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt ‘Enhanced Edition', which sparked talk of a re-release from CD Projekt Red later this year. This is something that CDPR has done in the past, with both of the first two Witcher games getting an Enhanced Edition later down the line with plenty of improvements.

However, after a weekend of speculation, CD Projekt Red has denied that it is working on an Enhanced Edition of the game.

TW3BAW_The_palace_of_Beauclair_EN-e1449592588349

Writing on the CD Projekt Red Forums, one of CDPR's community managers wrote: “There's no Enhanced Edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that we are aware of, this is some kind of error that we will look into. Thanks!”

Previously when CDPR has come out with Enhanced Editions, it was to implement more bug fixes and improvements to the overall game in the form of a free update for owners. However, this time around, the developer has experimented with free DLC and expansions, so an Enhanced Edition may not make sense this time around without re-releasing the game with its DLC included.

KitGuru Says: CDPR has released Enhanced Editions in the past but The Witcher 3 is a vastly different game to its predecessors so it may not make sense for this game. Particularly since there is still one more expansion set to come out for the game titled ‘Blood and Wine', which adds a whole new area to the game along with a 20-hour additional storyline.

Divinity Original Sin 2 was just crowd funded recently but the sequel is still some time away so in the mean time, Larian Studios has revamped the original game with a new enhanced edition, which now has a release date. The Enhanced Edition of Divinity: Original Sin will be free to those who own the original game on the PC and it will show up as a new listing in their Steam library.

This is also the first time the game will be made available for consoles, with it coming to the Xbox One and PS4 on the 27th of October. Those who were intrigued by the sequel's crowd funding success can now jump in and try out an improved version of the original game.

Divinity-Origin-Sin.0.0

New features include split-screen co-op, fully voiced dialogue, new quests, new combat, a reworked crafting system and a reworked story line. Essentially everything has been tweaked a bit to make the game even better than it was before.

For those who aren't in the loop, Divinity: Original Sin is a turn-based RPG. It was successfully crowd funded in 2013 and went on to be a huge hit with critics.

New features include mouse-look control and support for higher resolutions up to 1024×768, and 854×480 widescreen mode. All of the keys can be remapped now and some of the game's original bugs have now been fixed. The System Shock: Enhanced Edition even has a new trailer, which you can see below:

The re-worked version of the game will also be heading to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. As a result, there will be a re-designed user interface, which will pave the way for better controller use. There will also be a split-screen mode for co-op.

The story has been re-written and features a brand new ending, giving you an excuse to play the game all over again. Some dialog has been re-written and re-recorded as well with new triple A voice actors.

Aside from that, the game has been expanded on with new visuals, quests, combat styles, locations, changes to the crafting system and some new gameplay modes and character builds to change things up a bit. This is being released as an entirely separate game so when PC owners get their free copy, it will show up as a second entry on Steam.

Divinity: Original Sin is the second CRPG making its way to console this year. Last week the team behind Wasteland 2 announced that it would also be bringing its game to the Xbox One and PS4.
