Sony's Inzone family is getting bigger. First, we have the Sony Inzone Buds, the new wireless gaming earphones packed with Sony's acclaimed audio technologies, aimed at providing an immersive gaming experience for both PC and console players. Then, there's the new Inzone H5 wireless headset and a black version of the Inzone H9 headset.

The Inzone buds pack some of Sony's best audio technologies, including 360 Spatial Sound, one of the better virtual surround sound solutions on the market. Using Sound Field Optimisation, users can generate a customised hearing profile to further improve results. Using this feature is simple, as you just need to download the 360 Spatial Sound Personliser smartphone app, take a scan of your ears using your phone camera and then Sony does the rest.

To further customise your hearing experience, you can also use the Sound Tone Personalisation to tailor the Inzone Buds to your ear canal. The earbuds employ feedback microphones to assess how well the sound fills your ear canal and play test sounds from driver units. The sound is then personalised using the Inzone Hub PC app based on the acoustic analysis.

The Buds drivers are the same as the ones used on WF-1000XM5 earbuds, featuring a diaphragm construction that uses distinct materials for the dome and the edge to provide low distortion and excellent sound quality. Additionally, the Inzone Buds shut out background noise thanks to Sony's active noise cancellation tech, which also has a pretty stellar reputation.

The low-power processor L1 allows for up to 12 hours of battery life, increasing to 24 hours when taking the charging case into consideration. The Buds also come with a USB-C dongle. Available in black and white, the Buds are now available to pre-order (releasing on October 31st) for £179.99.

The Inzone H5 headset comes in the middle of the H3 and the H9, featuring a lightweight design (260g), soft-fit ear pads, AI-based noise reduction, and 360 Spatial Sound. It also comes with a 2.4G wireless dongle and a battery that can last up to 28 hours. As you would expect from a gaming headset, a microphone is also included. You can get the H5 in either black or white for £139.99 starting October 17th, but pre-orders are live already for those wanting to get one on day-one.

Lastly, the high-end Inzone H9 headset, noted for its outstanding noise cancellation, audio quality, and comfort, is getting a much-anticipated new black colour option. Like the original, it comes at £229.00 and will be available starting October 17th. Pre-orders are now open.

KitGuru says: If the latest Sony earbuds and headsets are anything to go by, the Inzone Buds and the H5 headset should have good noise-cancelling capabilities.

The post ASUS TUF Gaming H5 Wired 7.1 Headset Review first appeared on KitGuru.]]>
In this review we take a look at one of the peripherals from ASUS' TUF lineup. The TUF name originally appeared on a range of motherboards, and now with the start of the TUF Gaming Alliance there has been a shift to create an entire range of more affordable TUF components. The H5 is a multi-platform wired headset with 7.1 virtual surround sound, a dual microphone setup and a stainless steel headband design.

It uses the same grey and yellow colour scheme that is a staple of the TUF family, but is this headset worthy of the TUF name and can it justify the £79.99 asking price?

Specifications:

 • Connector: USB, 3.5mm connector Audio/mic combo
 • Platform:PC,MAC,Mobile device, PlayStation® 4, Xbox One®
 • Driver diameter : 50 mm
 • Driver material : Neodymium magnet
 • Microphone: Uni-directional
 • Impedance: 32 Ohm
 • Frequency Response (headphones): 20 ~ 20000 Hz
 • Cable Length: 1.2 meter
 • Accessories: Detachable microphone: Quick start guide

Microphone:

 • Microphone boom : Uni-directional
 • In-line Microphone: Omni-directional
 • Frequency Response of Microphone boom:100 ~ 10000 Hz
 • Frequency response of In-line Microphone: 50 ~ 10000 Hz
 • Sensitivity of Microphone boom: -40 dB
 • Sensitivity of In-line Microphone: -45 dB

The ASUS H5 TUF Gaming headset can be found for £79.99 on Amazon HERE

Pros:

 • Multi platform compatible.
 • Decent audio quality.
 • Lightweight and comfortable.
 • Good range of adjustability.
 • Industrial design matches well with TUF lineup.
 • Removable boom microphone & inline microphone.

Cons:

 • Braided cable is poor, and too short.
 • Virtual 7.1 surround only supported on PC.
 • Build quality doesn't feel “TUF”.
 • A little more headband padding would be beneficial.
 • Toggle for 7.1 surround is hard to reach when plugged into back of a PC.
 • Microphones are poor.

KitGuru says: Overall the H5 has acceptable sound quality and is comfortable to wear, but apart from the colour scheme we aren't sure this really fits in with the TUF family.

While the initial sheen might have come off the smartphone market (Apple in particular) as it moves to becoming a commodity, it is still a growth industry. But enjoying far greater growth is the accessory industry that has grown around it. KitGuru snags a sighting of a new site – dedicated to all things shiny and smart.

During an fairly standard interview with a European Marketing Manager in 2007, we heard something interesting. Something that was so obviously true, that it has stayed with us.

Asked about the amount of money that a consumer will spend on any given product, our anonymous guru said, “Budget? The budget that a customer is prepared to spend on a product that will be seen by others, is often a representation of how much they want to express themselves, their individuality. To say ‘Look at me, I am different'”.

When it comes to mobile phones, that is such a truism. While we might have an overall idea of the functionality a new cover/case/headset will bring – the actual decision will be governed more by style than substance in most cases.

The greater the range of options offered, the greater the granularity for each person to say something about themselves.

Luxa2 is the luxury goods arm of Thermaltake and it has been cooking on gas with new design ideas for quite some time.

The problem is that the full range of ‘everything Luxa2 can offer' has not readily available in the market.

Until now.

In the USA, it seems that Luxa2 is pioneering a more direct approach to customer acquisition and conversion with the launch of a brand new store over here.

For now, it seems to be USA only - but we expect more of these to follow

Speaking with KitGuru, Luxa2 Director Jerry Lee said, “Founded in 2009, LUXA2 has committed its mission to provide the best mobile accessories to users, by designing elegant products that offer sleek looks, convenient functionality and attractive pricing”.

“Now, with the launch of LUXA2’s online store”, he explained. “More people will be able to purchase LUXA2’s wide range of mobile accessories and will be able to enjoy special web-only discounts through our eCommerce site”.

Asked which products he thought would be particularly popular around launch, Jerry told us, “Well the H5 Premium Car Mount for Smart Phones is pretty cool. It is an all-aluminum universal mount for any smart device with a display size of 3.2” ~ 4.8”. It has been designed to hold most mobile phones at a variety of viewing angles – giving you easy access without sacrificing safety”.

Staying with the theme of mobility, Jerry also explained another product, “Our P1 is a high capacity 7000mAh charger. It can give you 7 more hours on your iPad or allow you to boost your iPhone 3.5 times from empty to full!”

KitGuru says: Interesting idea and, without the middle man, could be very price competitive.
