A couple of weeks ago, we reviewed another FSP power supply, the Hydro PTM X Pro 1200W. As it turns out, we got our unit quite a bit ahead of schedule, with FSP officially announcing availability this week.

The Hydro PTM X Pro 1200W power supply from FSP performed admirably in our testing, earning our Must Have award for its fully modular design, top-tier components, stable power delivery and excellent load regulation, putting this particular unit into class-leading territory.

As of this week, the Hydro PTM X Pro 1200W and 1000W models are available in Europe, priced at €214 and €190 respectively. While the previous FSP unit we reviewed, the Hydro Ti Pro, was not available in the UK and continues to be elusive months later, the Hydro PTM X Pro 1200W can be found on Amazon UK, but with a higher-than-expected price tag of £378.83 – but at the time of writing, there is only one left in stock and due to the way the product is named, many may mistake it for a different power supply entirely.

It is our hope that FSP will be able to improve its availability situation in the UK market, as finding their products in stock at retailers continues to be a bit of a challenge.

KitGuru Says: FSP has rolled out some fantastic power supplies over the last six months, greatly impressing in our reviews. Unfortunately, availability still has a bit of a question mark around it.

Corsair's all-in-one liquid coolers continue to be some of the most popular around. Today, the best-selling Hydro series is getting an upgrade, with Corsair announcing the Hydro H100i RGB Platinum and the H115i RGB Platinum, improving in both form and function.

Both the Platinum H100i and Platinum H115i come paired with Corsair's ML Pro series of RGB magnetic levitation PWM fans, which offer high static pressure and low friction thanks to the magnetic bearings. The H100i comes with two 120mm fans and a 240mm radiator while the new H115i comes with 140mm and a slightly thicker 280mm radiator.

Beyond that, both coolers come with a new copper cold plate, a low-noise pump design and zero-RPM fan profiles which are controllable by software. According to Corsair, users will get precise PWM control over the fans, so you can set the curve however you like.

Fans aren't the only thing getting an upgrade though. These are RGB coolers but the lighting has been upgraded, featuring 16 individually addressable LEDs for greater customisation and colour control. There are four additional ‘addressable RGB' LEDs found in each fan. Using Corsair iCUE, users will be able to change lighting however they see fit, including profiles based on CPU temperature, or different patterns and effects. As you would expect, lighting profiles can by synced across all iCUE compatible devices, including RAM, mice and keyboards.

Both the Corsair Hydro RGB Platinum H100i and Platinum H115i will be available starting today. Here in the UK, the H100i will retail for £124.99 while the H115i will go for £139.99.

KitGuru Says: I've switched to a custom water loop in my system, so it has been a while since I've used an AIO cooler. Are any of you currently thinking about upgrading your CPU cooler? Are you tempted by the new Platinum range from Corsair?

Corsair and MSI are teaming up once again to release a new Hydro GFX graphics card this year. This time around, Corsair has applied its AIO liquid cooling expertise to the GTX 1080Ti, creating an easy to install liquid cooled GTX 108Ti.

The Corsair Hydro GFX GTX 1080Ti is developed in partnership with MSI, using one of the partner boards and attaching a Corsair H55 AIO liquid cooler to it, with an additional blower-style GPU shroud over the top to help cool the VRMs. On the 120mm radiator, you will find an ML120 Corsair cooling fan, which uses magnetic levitation to physically suspend the fan rotor away from the motor when in operation, which reduces both friction and fan noise.

Thanks to this cooling implementation, noise levels should be greatly reduced, especially over a reference design card. The same should be true for temperatures too.

Aside from the cooler, the GTX 1080Ti Hydro comes with a nice out of the box overclock, bumping speeds up to 1620MHz on the core while in boost mode. Here are the full specifications for the card:

GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080 Ti
CUDA Cores: 3,584
Interface: PCI Express 3.0 x16
Core clock: 1,506 MHz / 1,620 MHz (OC Mode)
Core clock: 1,493 MHz / 1,607 MHz (Gaming Mode)
Core clock: 1,480 MHz / 1,582 MHz (Silent Mode)
Memory clock: 11,124 MHz (OC Mode)
Memory clock: 11,016 MHZ (Gaming Mode)
Memory clock: 11,016 MHz (Silent Mode)
Memory Size: 11,264MB
Memory Type: 11GB GDDR5X
Memory Bus: 352-bit
Output: 3x DisplayPort (Version 1.4), 1x HDMI (Version 2.0), 1x DL-DVI-D
Power Connector: 1x 8-pin, x 1x 6-pin
Power Consumption: 250W
Dimensions: Card – 269 x 111 x 35 mm, Cooler – 151 x 120 x 52 mm
Weight: Card – 1,363g, Package – 2,318g

This particular GTX 1080Ti comes with a three year warranty and will be available directly through Corsair un the UK, US and Germany soon. Pricing will vary from region to region.

KitGuru Says: As someone who is less familiar with building a custom water cooling loop, I do appreciate these options becoming more common, though they only tend to appear for top-end GPUs. Do any of you guys own an AIO cooled graphics card? Would you recommend it?

FSP has debuted a new range of power supplies this week, known as the Hydro series. They utilise a single 12v rail design and feature 80PLUS Bronze efficiency, with an 88 per cent peak and a flat ribbon cable design, which cuts back on its interference in case airflow and makes cable routing that bit easier.

Aimed at gamers with high performing, silent operation in mind, the Hydro series offers solid stability for high-powered GPUs on that single 12v rail – though that doesn't mean it's not SLI or Crossfire ready, because it is. It'll help protect your components from damage too, as it features measures for over voltage, under voltage and short circuiting.

fsphydro01

The ribbon cables are a big selling point of the new Hydro series though. At just a few millimetres thick, they help make the system much tidier and with the extra long 20+4pin cable, you'll definitely be able to thread it behind the motherboard tray to keep it tucked away.

All models in the range support a five year warranty too.

The FSP Hydro 80PLUS Bronze range comes in 500w, 600w and 700w flavours, priced at $60, $70 and $80 respectively. No UK pricing has yet been announced.

KitGuru Says: Although FSP might not be the most common PSU brand in the UK, it does have quite a stacked range. Is it part of the list of manufacturers you trust when it comes to power supplies?

Corsair and MSI recently revealed that they would be teaming up to launch the GTX 980Ti Seahawk edition, featuring an all-in-one liquid cooler for better temperatures, quieter operation and a higher out of the box overclock. Now potential buyers can get a look at what that extra performance will get them, as Corsair has posted its own benchmarks and temperature graphs for the GPU.

In a blog post on the Corsair website, the company shows that the H55 all-in-one cooler is quite capable of keeping temperatures down on the GTX 980Ti, with things sitting at just above the 50C mark, ensuring that the card won't hit a throttle point with achievable overclocks.

73x-e1442482327496

As far as games go, Corsair threw together a system featuring an Intel Core i7 6700K running at 4.6GHz, 16GB of DDR4 RAM a 480GB SSD and an ASUS Z170 Deluxe motherboard. The benchmarks show that at out of the box clock speeds, the Corsair Hydro cooled GTX 980Ti should give users a 15% performance boost over a reference design card:

As the report shows, there is room to push the GPU even further as far as overclocking is concerned, though results can vary on a per card basis due to the silicon lottery. Either way, the Corsair Hydro cooled MSI Seahawk GTX 980Ti is shaping up to be quite the contender, it will be interesting to see how it stacks up to EVGA's own GTX 980Ti Hybrid card.

KitGuru Says: Nvidia's Maxwell chips are extremely good overclockers and watercooling one should yield even higher performance numbers. Keep an eye out for reviews though, as they will help verify these results. Are any of you shopping around for a GTX 980Ti? Would you buy a pre watercooled one?

Today we are going to take a look at the Kraken X40, which is one of NZXT's first attempts at a performance liquid cooler.  It is a similar design to the X60, however it features a smaller 140 mm radiator for those who don't have room for a 280 mm unit in their case.  We look forward to seeing how it performs in our tests.

Like the Kraken X60, the X40 is based on Asetek technology, making it similar to the Corsair H90.  We will be looking at the differences between the two coolers in this review, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of each.

We will also look at how it compares to the Kraken X60 and Corsair H110, to show how the larger radiator affects performance.  The 140 mm radiator differentiates the X40 from the competition as it has more surface area than the myriad of 120 mm coolers on the market.

Features:

  • World's first all-in-one 140mm cooler with capacity to mount up to two 140mm fans.
  • High performance pump and copper block with interactive digital fan control.
  • Integrated HUE controlled LED pump cap.
  • Large tower support with extended 16″ tubing and premium black sleeved cables for a clean look and improved airflow.
  • Completed sealed system backed by a 2 year warranty.

Today we are going to take a look at the Kraken X60 which is NZXT's first attempt at a performance liquid cooler.  Over the past few years there have been a number of different companies trying to enter the all-in-one liquid cooling market, following the success of Corsair and Antec. Companies such as Zalman, Cooler Master and now NZXT are all trying to make their mark.

It is quite easy for new companies to enter this market, as most of the products on offer are based on exactly the same technology from Asetek, the company that manufactured the original Corsair H50.  As a result, the differences between most of the liquid cooling units can be attributed to the different fans bundled with each unit. That said, Corsair only use Asetek for their budget range and have a number of models based on CoolIT Systems technology.

It doesn't come as a surprise that the Kraken X60 is based on an Asetek design which differentiates itself by incorporating a 280 mm radiator, rather than the 240 mm model adopted by most of the competition.  It's therefore very similar to the Corsair H110 which we reviewed recently, which was also based on an Asetek design, featuring a 280 mm radiator.

Features

  • World's first all-in-one 280mm cooler with capacity to mount up to four 140mm fans.
  • High performance pump and copper block with interactive digital fan control.
  • Integrated HUE controlled LED pump cap.
  • Large tower support with extended 16″ tubing and premium black sleeved cables for a clean look and improved airflow.
  • SATA power connector for easy installation and effortless cable management.
  • Completed sealed system backed by a 2 year warranty.

Today we are going to look at the Corsair H90 which fits into the middle of the Hydro range, in a similar position to the H80i.  It is designed to compete directly with the new NZXT Kraken X40 (review forthcoming), boasting a 140 mm radiator to improve performance over standard 120 mm models.  We are also going to take another look at the Corsair H110, and see how it compares when cooling an Intel Core i7-3930K processor.

The Corsair Hydro H90 is designed as a high performance cooler for those who only have room for a 140 mm unit in their case.  We look forward to seeing how it compares to the H80i, which boasts a thicker radiator and an extra fan.  There are a number of cases on the market that feature 140 mm rear exhaust fan vents which are ideal candidates for this cooler.

We have already taken an in-depth look at the Corsair H110 over here so we will be focusing on the H90 in this article.

We have recently looked at a number of coolers from Corsair's Hydro series and have been very impressed with what they have to offer.  The H55, is based on an Asetek design which is shared by the Antec Kuhler models. The H60, H80i and H100i all share a different basic design as they are made by CoolIT Systems.
