There has been plenty of discussion around Nintendo's security over the last few months. That conversation is stirring up again this week as Nintendo has suffered another leak, although this one won't directly impact customers and Nintendo Switch owners. It could do wonders for Nintendo fan modders though.

On Twitter and other forums like ResetEra, users have been circulating Nintendo Source Code leaks for various games. So far, the tweet below seems to have the most up to date breakdown of everything that has been leaked by hackers, or possible rogue developers, so far:

Aside from full development repositories for games like Pokemon Diamond and apps like the Wii Shop Channel, the leak also contains the source code for classic Nintendo titles like Mario Kart, Star Fox, Yoshi's Island, F-Zero, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and more.

There are also some of Nintendo's own internal emulators included, including consoles like the Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance and the Nintendo Wii's virtual console. Rumour has it that the people behind this leak actually have more in their possession and are making it public slowly. With that in mind, the source code for games like Mario 64 could also end up becoming public.

Why exactly these leaks are taking place is unclear and so far, Nintendo has not responded. The leaks are valid though, as users have been able to use the source code to compile the games themselves.

KitGuru Says: We'll likely hear some updates on this next week, whether that be from the leakers or from Nintendo themselves.

Two weeks ago, we got our first look at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild running on the PC inside of a Wii U emulator. It didn't take long for the Cemu developer to get the game running but the game did run at a very low frame rate and things like physics were completely broken. Now, less than a month later, a ton of progress has been made.

In an update on the Cemu subreddit, a new video was posted showing how far Zelda has come with the new 1.7.4 update. Physics work a lot better now, frame rate is more stable and some of Link's powers are now working.

The video is cut together to draw direct comparisons from the original video a couple of weeks ago. The improvements are immediately apparent upon first viewing. However, there is still work to be done as the game suffers from freezes in combat, alongside some other bugs.

That said, if the Cemu team managed to get this far in just two weeks, then I imagine we can expect even more improvements in a few weeks time.

KitGuru Says: Given how complicated emulation is, I am surprised that the Cemu team has managed to get Breath of the Wild running so well just a couple of weeks after launch.

Last month, a report claimed that Netflix was in talks with Nintendo to create a live-action TV series based on the Legend of Zelda. Now, around a month after the initial rumors began circulating, Nintendo CEO, Satoru Iwata, has spoken out, claiming that the initial report was inaccurate.

Speaking with Time Magazine, Iwata said: “As of now, I have nothing new to share with you in regard to the use of our IPs for any TV shows or films, but I can at least confirm that the article in question is not based on correct information.”

This if the first time either Netflix or Nintendo have actually commented on the Zelda TV series rumors. The original report came from the Wall Street Journal, citing anonymous sources tied closely to the project. The show was described as a family friendly version of Game of Thrones.

The show was reportedly still in need of a writer t the time. However, it looks like for now at least, there won't be a live-action Zelda TV series from Netflix.

KitGuru Says: After around a month of speculation, Nintendo has finally commented on the Zelda TV show rumors. For now, it doesn't look like the show is actually happening. Would you guys like to see a Netflix-made Zelda series? I'm not too convinced the game would translate well to live-action.
