A few weeks ago, we started to hear that Lenovo was preparing its own Windows-based handheld gaming device, similar to the ROG Ally. Today, Lenovo made this official, announcing the Legion Go, equipped with a Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor for $699.

The Legion Go will ship with Windows 11, enabling greater compatibility with PC games compared to the Steam Deck. While most games can run on the Deck using Proton, some titles, like Destiny 2, remain inaccessible. By using Windows instead, this issue is eliminated. The handheld will ship with an 8.8-inch 2560×1600, 144Hz display and will be powered by AMD's Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, which was developed for handheld gaming devices just like this. Other specs include 16GB of RAM and up to a 1TB SSD.

The Legion 9i is an upcoming gaming laptop with high-end components, featuring an Intel Core i9-13980HX CPU and a GeForce RTX 4090 laptop GPU. This much power can be hard to cool in a laptop, regardless of its size, but Lenovo engineers were up to the challenge. Instead of going with a traditional cooling method with big heatsinks and fans, Lenovo developed the world’s thinnest water cooler, fitting it into an 18.9mm profile.

According to VideoCardz, Lenovo claims that the Legion 9i will have the world's smallest water cooling system. During the formal launch in China, a Lenovo representative displayed a slide describing how this cooling mechanism only kicks in after the machine hits 84°C, which removes the need for a liquid pump to operate at lighter loads.

Furthermore, even with three fans inside the chassis, there is enough room for a 4-cell 99.9 Wh battery, two M.2 2280 SSDs, and two DDR5-5600 DIMM slots (up to 64 GB). There's at least one model packing 64 GB of DDR5-5600 and two 1T M.2 2280 SSDs. Lenovo chose a 16.3-inch 2K IPS panel with a 165Hz refresh rate for the monitor, which the company calls a “PureSight Gaming” display. Earlier information said that it was a Mini-LED panel, but that wasn't confirmed yet.

There is no set release date for the Legion 9i yet, but production has already started. As such, we expect it to be available very soon.

KitGuru says: If proven good enough, there's a chance that other manufacturers will take inspiration from Lenovo's thin water-cooling system to use on their own laptops.

There has been a huge rise in the popularity of handheld PC gaming systems over the last few years. We've seen more OEMs jump on this trend recently, with the likes of the ROG Ally. Lenovo might be the next big name in tech to launch a PC gaming handheld, currently known as the Legion Go.

According to Windows Central, Lenovo has been preparing its own handheld gaming system for a while now. Known as the Legio nGo, the device would spot an 8-inch display and would be powered by an AMD Phoenix APU. Like the Asus ROG Ally, Lenovo's handheld will also run Windows 11 to maximise compatibility with PC games. Other devices like the Steam Deck run on Linux instead, relying on Proton to act as a compatibility layer to get many PC games running, which means not all games are compatible, including some big names like Destiny 2.

It has been said that Microsoft may be working closer with OEMs creating devices like this to clean up the Windows experience on a handheld. Microsoft has previously expressed public interest in making Windows more user-friendly for handheld devices.

Exactly how this handheld will perform up against other Windows-based alternatives still remains to be seen and there is of course a question mark around pricing. We should hopefully get more details on that in the coming months.

KitGuru Says: Gamescom is coming up, so I wouldn't be surprised to see an official announcement for this during the event. After all, it is the biggest gaming convention in the world and has always attracted a wider crowd of PC enthusiasts and hardware companies compared to the likes of E3.

Lenovo will soon expand its gaming monitor portfolio with two new Legion ultrawide monitors. The smaller one, which is actually the most expensive due to its mini-LED technology, is the 34-inch Legion Y34wz-30. The other one is the Legion R45w-30, a 45-inch monitor that you can configure to work as two separate displays.

The Lenovo Legion Y34wz-30 packs a 34-inch ultrawide curved mini-LED panel with 3440×1440 resolution, 1ms MPRT, 180Hz (OC) refresh rate, and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. Capable of covering 125% of the sRGB spectrum and 95% of the DCI-P3 gamut, this 10-bit colour panel comes factory calibrated with a ΔE<2. The Lenovo Legion Y34wz-30 can deliver 140W of power through a USB-C port to charge your devices. Furthermore, there's HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB hub to connect other devices.

The Lenovo Legion R45w-30 Gaming Monitor has a 44.5-inch panel with a 32:9 aspect ratio, a 170Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms MPRT. With 500 nits of peak brightness, the display can cover up to 120% of the sRGB gamut and 115% of the DCI-P3 colour space. Support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Adaptive Sync provides a tear-free gaming experience, even with HDR enabled. The Lenovo Legion R45w-30 has various connection options, including USB-C Gen2 (75W power delivery) and HDMI 2.1 ports, DisplayPort 1.4, a USB hub and an audio-out port.

Both Lenovo Legion Y34wz-30 and R45w-30 monitors provide PIP/PBP support, 2.5G LAN (RJ45) ports, and a KVM switch. Moreover, they feature Lenovo's True Split technology, which allows the display to be partitioned into two discrete monitors with just one input cable. Lastly, the two monitors are compatible with Lenovo's Artery software to configure the displays and built-in gaming utilities.

The Lenovo Legion R45w-30 will cost $999.99 and will be available in August 2023. The Lenovo Legion Y34wz-30 is planned to be available in July 2023 for $1,199.99.

After years away from the platform, Ubisoft has finally returned to Steam. That being said, the publisher is choosing to bring its titles over one at a time. Following the addition of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Roller Champions (among others), it seems Watch Dogs Legion will be the next game to arrive.

Both Watch Dogs 1 and 2 are available on Steam and have been since launch. In the years following these titles however, Ubisoft moved away from Steam, instead partnering with Epic Games to bring future titles exclusively to the Epic Games Store (and Ubisoft’s own Connect Launcher).

Finally, it seems as though 2020’s Watch Dogs Legion will be next in line to break free of these platforms, as ResetEra user ‘Chairmanchuck’ noted that the publisher is set to host a Watch Dogs franchise sale.

The sale will go live later today, and will conclude on the 19th of December. Currently, only Watch Dogs 1 and 2 are available, but considering the fact that Ubisoft has begun to bring its older titles to Steam, this would be an opportune time to add Legion.

Of course, we will have to wait for an official announcement, but if you are a Steam user and are planning on getting Watch Dogs Legion, it may be best to hold off for now. The Watch Dogs franchise sale can be found HERE.

Lenovo announced a new gaming monitor at IFA 2022 – the Legion Y32p-30. Lenovo's new monitor already ticks a lot of the right boxes, packing a 32-inch panel with 4K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate and HDMI 2.1 connectivity.

The Lenovo Legion Y32p-30 packs a 32-inch IPS panel with 4K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 0.2ms response time (MPRT). This monitor even packs DisplayHDR certification, thanks to its 10-bit panel with 16 local dimming zones. The factory calibration ensures a ΔE<2, allowing the monitor to cover up to 99% of the sRGB colour gamut and 90% of the DCI-P3 spectrum.

Like most gaming monitors, it supports AMD FreeSync Premium and has Eyesafe 2.0 certification. In addition, there's smart RGB lighting below the monitor and an ambient light sensor that adjusts the screen brightness based on the lighting conditions of the room.

Other nice gimmicks of this monitor include a foldable headphone/headset holder on the left of the screen, a built-in KVM switch, and a USB hub with a USB-C 3.1 port and two USB-A 3.1 ports. More connectivity options include a DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The included stand offers tilt, height adjustment and swivel capabilities, but there's support for third-party VESA arms too.

The Lenovo Legion will come to the US for $749 in December 2022. As for Europe, the monitor will arrive a month later, in January 2023, costing €999.

Discuss on our Facebook page HERE.

KitGuru says: Compared to other similar monitors, the US price seems reasonable. However, the European price looks a tad exaggerated, considering you can buy a monitor with similar specs for less than €800.

Lenovo is getting ready to launch two new gaming monitors. Both have the same design, 27–inch panel size and adjustable stand, but the panels themselves do differ. One is a cheaper 1080p display, while the other offers 1440p instead.

First, we have the Y27-30, a 27-inch IPS monitor with FullHD resolution, 0.5ms response time (MPRT), and 144Hz native refresh rate, which can be overclocked to 180Hz. With an 8-bit panel, 1000:1 contrast ratio and 400nits of typical brightness, the panel can cover 99% of the sRGB colour spectrum. Moreover, it supports AMD FreeSync Premium and AdaptiveSync.

Then, there's the Y27q-30, which also has a 27-inch IPS panel with a 0.5ms response time and 180Hz refresh rate (OC), 1000:1 contrast ratio and 400nits of typical brightness. However, this one has a QHD resolution and a 10-bit LUT, bumping sharpness and colour depth considerably. Like the Y27-30, it also supports AMD FreeSync Premium and AdaptiveSync and can cover 99% of the sRGB colour gamut.

Both monitors come with 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, 2x 3W speakers, a USB hub with 4x USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, and 2x 3W speakers. Additionally, they come with a height-adjustable stand that also allows the user to tilt, swivel and pivot, as well.

The Watch Dogs franchise is one of Ubisoft’s most frustraiting, not due to its quality, but simply due to the fact that it’s a series with a great deal of potential being hampered by typical Ubisoft gimmicks. It is therefore interesting to see that a manga based in the world of Watch Dogs is now available.

As reported by MangaMoguraRE, a new manga is being released called Watch Dogs Tokyo. Drawn by artist Kamo Syuhei (Gangsta: Cursed) & written by Shirato Seiichi, the manga is releasing its first chapter later today.

Currently, no official English version has been announced, however fan translations are commonplace in the manga community, and so it won’t be too long before Watch Dogs Tokyo is readable in multiple different languages.

According to MangaMoguraRE, Watch Dogs Tokyo will be about “a special new infrastructure system from a company called Bloom Japan used by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to change people's lives. However this new system does in fact also harbor a great darkness.”

This isn’t the first time a manga has been released based on a Ubisoft IP. Unfortunately, all previous releases were limited in their length. With no new Watch Dogs game announced, it will be interesting to see if this story ties into an upcoming sequel, or if the team is simply experimenting with taking advantage of different mediums.

KitGuru says: Will you read Watch Dogs Tokyo? What do you think of the franchise? Where do you want to see the games go next? Let us know down below.

Lenovo's new monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified. Moreover, it is certified by TUV Rheinland due to its low blue light mode and flicker-free tech. Like most modern gaming monitors, it should also feature Adaptive Sync, most likely AMD FreeSync.

The included stand is very versatile, as it allows you to tilt, pivot, swivel, and adjust height. Connectivity options include 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-B 3.2 Gen1 upstream port and 4x USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports. Finally, there are two 3W built-in speakers, which might come in handy if you don't have any other audio solution.

Rumours say the Lenogo Y25-30 will release in May for $340. Unfortunately, there's no word on when this monitor will come to the UK and Europe, or how much will it cost.

Like most of Ubisoft’s open-world games nowadays, Watch Dogs Legion launched with an extensive post-launch roadmap in place, including free and paid DLCs rolling out over late 2020 and 2021. Now as we head into 2022, the Watch Dogs Legion team is moving on to new projects.

In a blog post this week, Ubisoft confirmed that development on Watch Dogs Legion has now come to an end and the game will get no more content updates. Currently, the game’s online services are re-running previous seasonal events for players but eventually, online services for the game will go offline.

“TU 5.6 was our final update for Watch Dogs: Legion”, Ubisoft confirmed. “However, you can look forward to reward tracks in the Online Mode, containing both new and returning rewards. The current season 4 Rebels track, containing 80 ranks, will run until January 22, 2022, followed by Season 5 Stripes. After that, Seasons 3-5 will continue to cycle and return to the game, giving you the opportunity to acquire rewards you might have missed out on in the past.”

We don’t know what the Watch Dogs team will work on next. Perhaps in a few years time there will be a Watch Dogs 4. If that were to happen, I would like to see a return to having a central main character for the main story, with less of a focus on random NPC recruiting.

With the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S developers have typically been offering players much greater choice when it comes to tailoring the gameplay experience to their liking. One of these ways is through offering both performance and resolution options in games. While titles such as Spider-Man Miles Morales, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and more offered the option, Watch Dogs: Legion did not – until now.

At launch, Watch Dogs: Legion only offered one graphics mode for next-gen consoles, that being 30fps with ray-tracing on. While visually impressive, some players did not think the tradeoff between ray-tracing and framerate was worth it.

As such, the Watch Dogs team confirmed that a 60fps mode would be added at a later date. Though it took more than 6 months, the 60fps update is now live as part of the game's big 4.5 patch (which adds new content, crossplay and more). It is worth noting however that framerate and ray-tracing are not the only changes made between the two modes. The 60fps mode reportedly also reduces the visual settings from high to medium, as well as turning off ray-tracing.

While for some this visual downgrade may be too much, for others, maintaining 60fps is a must. As such, it is good to see players being given the choice between the two – even if it took a while to arrive.

For a few months now, Watch Dogs Legion has been following a content roadmap for major updates throughout the year. Some of this planned content is now being juggled around, with some updates pushed back to a later date. We also have an official date for Watch Dogs Legion's 60 frames per second mode on Xbox Series X and PS5 consoles.

Since launching late last year, Watch Dogs Legion has offered just one graphics mode on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, enabling 30FPS gameplay with ray-traced reflections. On the 1st of June, a performance mode will be added to the game, enabling 60FPS gameplay on both new consoles.

Unfortunately, we still don't know much about the technical changes made to reach 60 frames per second, so there's still more to hear on resolution, graphical settings etc. Chances are, this mode will disable ray-traced reflections.

As for other upcoming content, Watch Dogs Legion will be getting its 5.0 major update in July, which will add previous Watch Dogs characters, Aiden Pearce and Wrench to the game. Online modes like Invasion and Extraction have unfortunately been delayed a bit though, moving into an August release window.

The first images have emerged of Lenovo's RX 6900 XT Legion graphics card. Set to be used in the company's pre-built gaming systems, this custom card is a thick unit, with a triple-slot cooler and an overall design that is highly reminiscent of AMD's Radeon VII.

As reported by VideoCardz, these images were shared on Weibo by WolStame, Lenovo's China Gaming Desktop Product Planning Manager. WolStame has been responsible for several other news-worthy posts in the past, including an early size comparison of the RX 6800 XT and a first look at Intel's 10900K and 10700K CPUs.

According to WolStame, this is an engineering sample, so the card is likely still in the testing phase of production. Unfortunately for DIY users, VideoCardz reports it will only be available in pre-built Lenovo Legion systems, which makes sense as Lenovo isn't a standalone graphics card manufacturer.

In terms of design, this RX 6900 XT looks like what you'd imagine the Radeon VII would've looked like if it came in a dark grey/matte black colour scheme, and was three slots thick instead of two slots. The overall squareness of the shroud is the same, and there's even the same red Radeon ‘R' logo in the end corner, exactly like the reference Radeon VII.

Interestingly, while VideoCardz reports the Legion 6900 XT is using a custom PCB, it still has ‘just' two 8-pin PCIe power connectors, the same as AMD's reference card. Many other third-party designs utilise three 8-pin connectors, including MSI's RX 6900 XT Gaming X Trio. However, each 8-pin connector is specified to deliver 150W, with the PCIe x16 slot capable of another 75W, so this implementation should still be capable of delivering more than enough power to the card.

KitGuru says: It will be interesting to see how this RX 6900 XT performs, particularly in terms of cooling as it's a very thick card.

When Watch Dogs: Legion was first released, many fans were left disappointed by the fact that the PS5 and Series X|S versions of the game lacked any 60fps option. It seems Ubisoft are aware of this fact, as they have now confirmed that a 60fps mode is being worked on for these new consoles.

In a recent Reddit AMA, the Watch Dogs: Legion developers were asked “Is there any update on a performance mode which targets 60fps on next generation consoles? It would [be] amazing if we got confirmation if it was in development.”

In response, they confirmed that “60fps for next gen consoles is in development and we'll announce the exact release dates with our future TUs [updates].”

This is great news for all those with a PS5 and Series X|S. One of the most disappointing aspects to Watch Dogs: Legion for many was the fact that the next-gen versions lacked any 60fps mode, only offering a ray-tracing option at 30fps. This was doubly disappointing when considering the fact that another open world Ubisoft title, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, offered a 60fps mode as standard on next-gen.

Though it may not have been at launch, it is encouraging to see that Watch Dogs: Legion will in fact be getting a 60fps mode at some point in the future.

Watch Dogs: Legion launched at the end of October 2020 to mixed reviews from both critics and fans alike. Despite this, Ubisoft is hoping to draw players back in with a promised online mode. Though not available at launch, the online mode for Watch Dogs: Legion has now been announced to be coming on the 9th of March.

Making the announcement, Ubisoft revealed that “Watch Dogs: Legion launches its free Online mode on March 9, giving players the chance to race their friends through the streets of London, take on a variety of intense new cooperative mission types and challenges, or team a dancer up with a beatboxer by the Tower Bridge for an impromptu riverside performance.”

Like GTA: Online, Watch Dogs Legion: Online is a standalone experience which allows you to team up with friends and complete daily and weekly challenges, and will also offer a Battle Pass and cosmetic items.

Players will also be able to experience newly crafted co-op missions, which will let up to 4 players partake in infiltrating bases and taking out targets. These missions will increase your faction rank.

The game will also include raid-like ‘tactical ops’ missions, which are 3-4 player endgame missions which “require intense communication and teamwork”. In these missions, if a single player dies, the whole team must start from the beginning. Needless to say, Watch Dogs: Legion will be expecting players to grind in order to manage these missions.

Standalone online modes of games can be extremely lucrative in the long run, and it looks like Watch Dogs: Legion is hoping to tap into that market. It will be interesting to see whether the game mode can keep players interesting in the long run.

Lenovo has unveiled several new Legion gaming laptops, as well as gaming headsets and a new Ideapad gaming laptop. Besides key updates to the internal hardware, Lenovo also introduced some new features to the Legion lineup, including the Coldfront 3.0 cooling system, TrueStrike keyboards, and the AI Engine auto-tuning software.

On the hardware side, the new Lenovo gaming laptops will feature the recently announced AMD Ryzen 5000H processors and RTX 30 series laptop GPUs, paired with new high resolution and high refresh-rate displays, designed to provide users with more immersive experiences.

The Lenovo Legion 7 will feature the first 16-inch QHD (2560×1600) IPS panel with a 165Hz refresh-rate, featuring G-Sync compatibility, 500nits of brightness, and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. Thanks to its 16:10 aspect ratio, this near-edgeless panel offers 11% more screen area, resulting in a 90% screen-to-body ratio. The RGB lighting located in the lid, bottom lip, air outlets and individual keys of the Legion 7 can be customised through Corsair iCUE, allowing users to treat themselves to an impressive lighting show.

The new Legion CPU options will include the AMD Ryzen 5000H series, up to the 8C/16T Ryzen 9 5900H. GPU options were not detailed, but we expect to see the RTX 3060, 3070, and 3080 mobile GPUs on offer. Additionally, there's also the option to equip it with a Wi-Fi 6 Killer AX1650 module for enhanced wireless connectivity when gaming on the go. Expected to be available by June, this laptop will start at $1699.99.

The new Legion Slim 7 will be even thinner than its predecessor, making it the “thinnest and lightest gaming laptop in Lenovo Legion history”. Featuring the latest RTX laptop GPUs, AMD Ryzen 7 5900H CPU, Wi-Fi 6 Killer AX1650, and a 15.6-inch 4K IPS display with a 60Hz refresh rate (FHD@165Hz option available), the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is perfect for “for those who love gaming from anywhere” but still need a high-performance production machine for work.

The Legion Slim 7's casing is made from a magnesium and aluminium blend, creating a thin and lightweight laptop perfect to travel with. Available in Shadow Black or Storm Grey colours, the white backlit keyboard combines perfectly with both, but there's also an RGB backlit option with Corsair iCUE compatibility. The new Legion Slim 7 will be available starting May, but pricing hasn't been disclosed yet.

Similar to the Legion 7, the Legion 5 Pro features the same 16-inch QHD IPS panel with a 165Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB colour gamut, and 3ms response time. Combining this panel with the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and the new RTX 30 series laptop GPUs result in a laptop perfect for eSports enthusiasts. Coming in either Storm Grey or Stingray White, the Legion 5 Pro features an enhanced cooling solution with a larger intake and quad-vent, for improved thermals even when using Dual Burn, a tool that “pushes the CPU and GPU” to increase the games' framerates.

The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro will be priced starting at $999.99 and expected to release in March.

The last Lenovo Legion gaming laptops are the 15-inch and 17-inch models of the new Legion 5. The 15-inch model will be available in Phantom Blue with optional 4-Zone RGB lighting and Stingray White with blue backlighting and a FHD IPS display with 165Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB coverage. On the other hand, the 17-inch model will be only available in Phantom Blue with white backlighting and an FHD IPS panel with a 144Hz refresh rate.

Both laptops will be equipped with up to AMD Ryzen 7 5800H mobile processors and Nvidia's RTX 30 series mobile GPUs. Expected to be available by March, both models will start at $769.99.

Besides laptops, Lenovo also introduced a couple of interesting new peripherals. First, there's the Legion S600 gaming station, a wireless charging station for your devices, including wireless mice, wireless headsets, and even smartphones. The S600 features hang-to-charge technology, making it the perfect match for the new Legion H600 wireless gaming headset. Moreover, this charging station comes with 2x USB-A passthroughs for wired charging or connectivity.

Designed to offer lag-free audio, the Legion H600 wireless gaming headset features a 2.4GHz lossless wireless receiver with a maximum range of 12m. With less than 35ms of latency and 50mm audio drivers, the H600 headset comes with a noise-canceling microphone for crisp and clear communication. The Legion S600 gaming station and the Legion H600 wireless gaming headset are expected to be available by April, priced at $89.99 and $99.99, respectively.

Lenovo also shared that it will launch a new AMD-based IdeaPad Gaming 3 laptop aimed at the entry-level gaming laptop market, as well as a Legion H200 gaming headset for casual gamers who prioritise value. The AMD-powered IdeaPad Gaming 3 laptops will start at $699.99, with an expected release date by June, while the H200 gaming headset will be available in April, priced at $49.99.

One of the major advancements in technology set to arrive with the next generation consoles will be their ability to utilise ray tracing. While the technology is undoubtedly taxing on hardware, according to Ubisoft, the implementation of ray tracing on both the PS5 and Series X will be so similar to its PC counterpart that “only experts will be able to spot differences.”

In an interview with Galvin Whitlock, the Lead Programmer at Ubisoft talked to WCCFTECH about the next-gen versions of Watch Dogs: Legion (which recently released on PC and current gen systems). One of the main upgrades coming to the next-gen versions of Legion is the ability to turn on ray tracing, which according to Whitlock, will be comparable to the current PC implementation.

Talking to WCCFTECH, Whitlock said “The fundamentals of the ray-tracing are the same across all platforms that support it. For RTX on PC, we do ray-tracing for rougher surfaces in more situations. Ray-tracing relies on a simplified version of the world that we trace rays into.”

He continued, “This has been optimised individually for each platform to maximise the number of rays we can process. Overall, the look is similar on all platforms supporting ray-tracing, but side-by-side, only experts will be able to spot differences.”

With ray tracing being a relatively new technology in gaming, and considering the fact that both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are relatively budget friendly when compared to PCs, it is surprising to see the feature being so robust – though of course we’ll have to wait and see how it turns out when the next-gen versions actually launch.

Watch Dogs: Legion is officially releasing tomorrow but unfortunately for those looking to play it on Xbox One X, there is a serious game-breaking bug to be aware of.

During the mission ‘404', which takes place a few hours into the main campaign, Watch Dogs: Legion freezes when running on Xbox One X and as reported by Eurogamer, this then leads to a message from the Xbox warning of an imminent shutdown. The bug apparently causes the console to overheat.

The odd thing here is that Xbox One X is the platform Ubisoft recommended that reviewers play the game on. So there could be other bugs on other platforms that still need addressing.

Ubisoft is already aware of the Xbox One X issue and is working on a fix, which should come in a patch on Friday. Hopefully there aren't any other game-breaking issues further down the line.

KitGuru Says: It is unfortunate that this particular bug is still present the day of the game's launch. This is something that really should have been caught earlier. If you are picking this game up today and plan to play on Xbox One X, then you'll be best off avoiding this particular mission until later in the week when a fix rolls out.

As we approach the start of the next generation of consoles, many publishers are beginning to highlight the upgrades coming to its cross-generational titles when played on a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. In a recent AMA on Reddit, the Live Producer for Watch Dogs Legion revealed exactly what fans can expect if they decide to hold on to playing the game until the release of the PS5 and Series X.

Lathieeshe Thillainathan, the Live Producer for Watch Dogs Legion took to Reddit to partake in an AMA (ask me anything) session. Alongside the announcement that the game will include cross progression across all platforms (with cross-play coming at a later date), Thillainathan revealed that the open-world stealth hacker game will run with “Ray tracing, 4k, 30fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X.”

While 4K with ray tracing is certainly impressive, it’ll be interesting to see whether the resolution is native, or upscaled in some way. Furthermore, ray tracing can take many different forms. How comprehensive the ray tracing is in Watch Dogs Legion is also currently unknown.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, another open-world Ubisoft title, has been announced to run at 4K60fps on next-gen systems without ray tracing. Hopefully Watch Dogs Legion will offer multiple rendering options, allowing players to choose between features such as ray tracing and framerate. We’ll have to wait and see.

Watch Dogs Legion launches on current gen systems on the 29th of October, with the game’s next-gen versions arriving with the respective consoles.

Watch Dogs: Legion is just a few weeks away. With that in mind, Ubisoft has begun teasing what's to come beyond launch, including a mix of free single-player content and paid expansions, mirroring what the publisher has done with Assassin's Creed in recent years.

In a new post-launch and season pass content trailer, Ubisoft has detailed what to expect from Watch Dogs: Legion after release and once players have gotten through the main campaign.

In terms of free content, players can expect four-player free-roam co-op, new co-op missions, larger and tougher ‘Tactical Ops' missions meant for four-player squads and a dedicated PvP mode called Spiderbot Arena. Single-player fans can expect more in 2021, including new characters, abilities, missions and New Game+.

The Season Pass expands on all of this with a full expansion called Bloodline. This expansion continues the story of Aiden Pierce, the protagonist of Watch Dogs 1. Wrench from Watch Dogs 2 will also be making an appearance in this new story content. Season Pass owners also get access to four ‘Hero' characters to play with through the main game – Aiden, Wrench, Mina and Darcy. Darcy is particularly interesting, as she is the next piece to the Watch Dogs/Assassin's Creed crossover puzzle. Finally, the season pass also includes three extra DedSec story missions.

Watch Dogs: Legion is releasing on the 29th of October.

KitGuru Says: I'm looking forward to giving this a go, although I'm not too fussed about an expansion focusing on Aiden Pierce. With that said, Watch Dogs has improved a ton since the first game, so it could be a good redemption for the character. Are many of you planning on picking up Watch Dogs: Legion later this month?

Back when Nvidia announced that RTX graphics chips were coming to laptops, the company also boasted that more than 40 new laptops were already set to carry them. We've seen new models from Razer, ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte and more. Now today at CES, Lenovo announced that it is also jumping on board, with a new range of Legion gaming gear that spreads from RTX laptops to peripherals, monitors and other pre-built systems.

The Lenovo Legion Y740 and Y540 lead the new laptop range. Both are fairly thin and light enough to be portable. The Y740 is the more powerful of the two and comes in both 15-inch and 17-inch variants. The smaller one carries an RTX 2070 Max-Q while the larger one can be upgraded to an RTX 2080 Max-Q. In either case, both versions can sport up to an 8th Gen Core i7 processor and up to 32GB of RAM. You also get a 1080p/144Hz display, which should play very nicely with GPUs of this calibre.

The Y540 is the cheaper model, you still get a super compact laptop, a 15-inch display, as much RAM as you can afford and an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor. However, you are limited to an RTX 2060 in the graphics department, which should still be plenty of power for modern games.

The Legion series doesn't just cover laptops though, peripherals are also involved. The Legion M500 RGB mouse uses an ergonomic design with textured grips, a Pixart PMW 3389 sensor with up to 16,000 DPI and the ever reliable Omron switches for durability. The Legion K500 RGB is the accompanying mechanical keyboard, which sticks to a fairly minimalist design. Unfortunately, we don't know exactly what switches are under the caps, so it could be Cherry MX, it could be Kailh, or it could be something else entirely. Finally, the Legion H300 headset rounds out the peripheral lineup, delivering 7.1 virtual surround sound, a floating headband that self-adjusts when you put it on, a detachable boon microphone and 50mm dynamic audio drivers.

Finally, Lenovo is also jumping in to the gaming monitor space. First up is the Y44w, which is a 43.4-inch curved display with a 3840×1200, which results in a weirder aspect ratio than I am sure most of us are used to- the easiest way to look at it would be double 16:10. It also includes HDR with a 400 nits peak brightness, a 144Hz refresh rate and FreeSync 2 technology.

The Legion Y27gq reigns things in a bit with a 2560×1440 resolution on a 27-inch panel. However, it does have a super fast 240Hz refresh rate, putting it above and beyond many other high refresh rate 1440p monitors currently available.

Pricing and availability for all of the new gear is still TBD but we'll hopefully have more information on that front soon.

KitGuru Says: Lenovo is digging into the gaming market this year and sparing no expense with high-end gear. Those two monitors in particular appear to be quite interesting.

With the launch of the Legion expansion, Blizzard achieved one of the smoothest launches it has ever had as far as World of Warcraft is concerned and while millions are enjoying the expansion right now, this is only the beginning. Over the weekend, one of WoW's producers took to Battle.net to explain how the team managed to pull off such a smooth launch and the patch cycle plan going forward.

Starting off, if you were wondering what Blizzard did to ensure a smoother launch for Legion, on the tech side, it was a case of running multiple copies of the Broken Isles per realm to ensure maps didn't become overpopulated. Each new questing zone has its own hardware behind it too, so Azsuna is running on a server, Highmountain on another, etc.

Aside from that, a new system was introduced to group friends/guilds/groups together, rather than placing them in different copies of the world. This was tested during the pre-expansion Invasion events and ensured that areas felt populated without trying to crowd the entire realm population in there.

world-of-warcraft-legion

A lot of these technical changes came about after the launch of Warlords of Draenor but these aren't the only changes Blizzard is implementing after its last expansion. With Legion, Blizzard also wants to provide more regular content releases:”The launch of Legion is just the beginning of the journey. As with many of you, we weren’t happy with Warlords of Draenor’s patch cycle, and have changed our strategy for Legion, prioritizing more regular content releases”.

[yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxiofX97_G0′]

The first of these content drops will be patch 7.1: Return to Karazhan, which will introduce a new Mythic Dungeon, expand the Suramar campaign, add new World Quests, add in the Trial of Valor raid dungeon and more. A trailer for this patch has already been released, which you can see above, or directly on YouTube.

KitGuru Says: I've been enjoying my time in Legion so far, in fact, I just hit level 110 this weekend, though there is still plenty of questing left for me to do on the Broken Isles. Have any of you jumped back into WoW for Legion? A lot of returning players seem happy with it so far.

Sales of World of Warcraft's latest expansion, Legion, show there's still plenty of life in the Azeroth yet. On just the first day of sale, over 3.3 million copies were sold, netting Blizzard a tasty bump in revenue and no doubt a number of returning subscriptions to go along with it.

While we don't have any hard numbers on subscribers – since Blizzard doesn't really talk about them any more – Eurogamer has it that the number of concurrent players has reached its highest point since the launch of Cataclysm. That shows that even if subscriber numbers may not be at their peak, those who are paying for WoW are playing a lot of it and clearly enjoying themselves.

Indeed Legion seems to have proved a number of people wrong. A quick look at a few previews vs early reviews of Legion from various Youtube channels show a changing of opinion once the game was actually released. Although there are still some aspects of the game people aren't thrilled with, for the most part Legion has gone down very well.

wowlegion

Of course though, with World of Warcraft, you can't count your chickens right after the expansion releases. While that period sees the biggest spike in expansion purchases, the real test will come in the weeks and months that follow, as the story continues and Blizzard plays out its grand plan for Legion content.

Whether people stick around to continue playing that, will tell us how truly beloved the new expansion is. Traditionally, even popular expansions have seen player numbers dwindle soon after their release and much of the content is beaten, but Legion does have a lot of it. It also has upgrade paths for Artifact weapons to keep the grinders around for a little longer at least.

After many World of Warcraft players were left disappointed by Warlords of Draenor, there is a lot of buzz surrounding Legion, which will see the alliance and the horde face off against a demon invasion. Demon Hunters are now a playable class, and much of the expansion's story will involve new artefact weapons, which will level with you from 100 to 110.

Although Gul'Dan has been quite the trouble maker throughout Azeroth's storied history, you can at least feel a little sorry for him in the latest World of Warcraft short film released to promote the upcoming Legion expansion. In it we learn of his past and what it was that made him such a hateful individual.

It turns out that Gul'Dan was once part of a tribe, though as he says towards the end of the video: nobody has ever heard of it. That's because they cast him out, mocked him for his disabilities and lack of strength – so when he returned, he was more than a little wrathful.

[yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3QJ8Pgjj3c']

The story itself is called “Harbingers,” as it shows where not only Gul'Dan's emotions came from, but his power too. When his people and the elements themselves deserted him, Gul'Dan stumbled across another ancient power. In turn Gul'Dan became a Harbinger of its fury.

All of this is of course to promote the upcoming Legion expansion for WoW, which launches at the end of August. It will feature a new continent to explore, a continuation of the epic WoW story, new weapons, quests, crafting options and a whole lot more.

Although Quantum Break might have failed to really deliver a game/TV show hybrid product, that doesn't mean the mediums can't be blended in some ways. Take the way Blizzard has been introducing characters for its games in recent years, something it's continuing to do so for upcoming WoW expansion, Legion.

Legion will feature a number of characters new and old for fans of Azeroth and its surrounding dimensions, so Blizzard has plans to introduce players to them in a series of animated shorts. Unfortunately PCGN has it that these won't be the high-fidelity videos we saw with the launch of Overwatch, but more akin to how the Lords of War series broke down Draenor's heroes.

wowlegion

This next series isn't about Orcish heroes though, but Demon Hunters. It will be called Harbingers and will break down the back story of Illidan, why he was in the Black Temple and what he's got planned for the Burning Legion.

The first in the series will show us the story of an Elf and their single, great reason for despising the Legion. They of course become an Illidari before long and help Illidan himself face off against one of the Legion's most powerful generals. This will likely gets fans pumped for the upcoming Legion expansion and for fans of Warcraft law, and will help flesh out the stories of some of the most prominent characters of the world.

The first video is expected to land sometime in the next few weeks, with Legion launching on 30th August.

There has been so much talk surrounding World of Warcraft, Nostalrius and vanilla servers recently that it would have been easy to forget about the game's upcoming expansion, Legion. The alpha phase for the expansion wrapped up a little while ago and now, it is time to move on to the beta, ahead of the final launch on the 30th of August.

At around 2PM Pacific time in the US today, the Legion beta build will start going out to a select few. It features the new Demon Hunter class as well as all of the new zones that will be coming in the expansion.

UVVW9IBY59G31462905197446

The beta build also includes ten dungeons and two raids, as well as the new level cap, so there is quite a bit to get through and test prior to the launch later this year. Those in the beta aren't bound by NDA either, so we will likely get a good look at a lot of this stuff before August, which could help some decide if they are going to return to the MMO or not.

KitGuru Says: A lot of players returned to WoW for Warlords of Draenor but numbers did eventually dip once again. It will be interesting to see if Legion can hold returning player interest for longer this year. Are any of you planning on returning for Legion?

The expansion will raise the existing level cap from 100 to 110 and feature new artefact weapons for each classes' specializations.

Legion also includes a new area on Azeroth called the Broken Isles and introduces the demon hunter hero class, which starts at level 98. Players can already pre-order Legion and get a level 100 boost so you can start a new character and get straight into the new content. Those who buy early also get early access to the Demon Hunter class though we don't know exactly when that is. Playing a Demon Hunter will require that you have a level 70 character already though.

The standard edition will set you back £34.99 but there is a digital deluxe edition that includes an Illidari Felstalker mount and pet for World of Warcraft, a Felstalker mount for Heroes of the Storm, a helm transmog and wings for Diablo 3, and a pair of fel-infused StarCraft 2 portraits for £49.99

As always, there will be a physical collector's edition available, which will include a hardcover art book, a Blu-ray/DVD pack with behind the scenes footage on development, the game's soundtrack and finally, a mouse pad. This edition of the expansion will cost £64.99.

World of Warcraft is set to get another expansion this year, which also means that Blizzard has to update the game's PC system requirements. Legion is set to release sometime this year, adding all new content to the game and bringing players back for more, so what will you need to run it?

On the minimum system requirements side, you will need to have at least an Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 or an AMD Phenom II X3 720, 2GB of RAM and a Nvidia GT 440 or AMD Radeon HD 5670 to play the new expansion.

7e0e6a4d0d63bb5b60b2fa29caaaec00

The recommended system requirements call for a Windows 10 system equipped with an Intel Core i5-3330 or an AMD FX-6300 processor, 4GB of RAM and a Nvidia GTX 750Ti or AMD Radeon R7 260x graphics card.

World of Warcraft has never been the most demanding game but obviously if you have been playing the game since its launch 12 years ago, that same PC isn't going to cut it anymore.

KitGuru Says: I very recently got into WoW myself so I'm hoping to have a character all caught up by the time Legion comes out. Are any of you planning on checking out the new expansion later this year? Or have you sworn off the game completely?
