It is now official – AMD will properly unveil its next generation Ryzen processors later this month. Today, the company announced a livestream for the occasion, which will include new details on Zen 4 and the AM5 platform.

In recent weeks, rumours have been pointing to a late August announcement for Ryzen 7000. With AMD's announcement today, it is now official. The livestream will be taking place on AMD's YouTube channel on the 29th of August at 7PM ET, which means those of us in the UK will need to stay up until midnight to catch the announcement live.

The stream, titled “together we advance_PCs”, will include appearances from AMD CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, as well as CTO, Mark Papermaster, as well as other AMD executives. The event will reveal details “on the latest Zen 4 architecture that powers upcoming AMD Ryzen processors and the all new AM5 platform built around the latest technologies including DDR5 and PCIe 5”.

Recently, reports claimed that while AMD will announce its new CPUs this month, they may not become available until a month later, on the 27th of September. We should get confirmation on suggested pricing and availability during AMD's stream on the 29th.

Ever since its inception, Twitch has suffered from a plethora of issues, be it trolling, stalking, harassment and even Swatting. The company has inadvertently announced a new system coming to the platform which will hopefully help stop repeat offenders: Shared bans.

As captured by streaming reporter Zack Bussey, during a recent demonstration of Twitch’s new ‘Guest Star’ feature, the presentation – intentionally or not – showed off an as-of-yet-unreleased feature called ‘shared ban’.

Though Twitch itself did not go into details, it is safe to assume that this functionality will allow for content creators to share their list of banned accounts with each other in some way or another. The feature could be as basic as requiring manual sharing of ban lists or it could offer advanced breakdowns with automated actions – we simply do not yet know.

As mentioned, Twitch has struggled with moderation since its creation, and so to see the company actually doing something to try and tackle it is good – even if it ultimately ends up not being the optimal solution. We’ll have to wait and see what the full details of the feature entails if and when it is officially announced.

During EA Play Live back in July, Dead Space was officially announced, serving as a reimagining of the original horror classic. While we weren't expecting to see the game in action this year, it would seem that EA Motive wants to give fans an early sneak peek later today.

EA Motive will be hosting a stream on Twitch at 6PM BST. During the stream, we'll get a “very early look” at this new Dead Space game. During the stream, we can expect to see some work-in-progress footage of the game and perhaps some screenshots and concept art to go along with it.

Dead Space does not have an official release date yet, but rumours point to it being scheduled for late 2022. Given that EA Motive is already planning to show some of the game, that rumour may well be true. There is also talk of restoring cut content from the original game for the remake.

Dead Space will be releasing on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: This announcement certainly comes as a surprise, particularly since the game was only announced last month. Will you be tuning in to the Dead Space stream later today?

It has been a while since we last had some big VR games to look forward to, but that will be changing soon. This week, Oculus announced its first games showcase, during which we'll see new footage for anticipated VR games like Lone Echo 2, as well as some new game announcements.

Oculus will be holding its first games showcase on the 21st of April, featuring new announcements for Pistol Whip, Lone Echo 2 and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge. These are “just a few” of the games that will be shown, as Oculus has “surprises in store” as well.

The stream will be live across Twitch, Facebook and YouTube, so you can tune in on whichever platform you prefer. We don't know how long the show will be, but it'll be taking place on the 21st of April at 11PM BST. Over in the US, that works out as 3PM PST or 6PM EST.

Given that this is an Oculus show, we can expect some exclusives to the Oculus platform. With the company moving away from PC-only VR as well, we are likely to only see games that support the Quest 2, in addition to the Rift S.

In the third instalment of the ‘Briony Games’ series – reviewer and gaming addict Briony tries out ‘Two Point Hospital', the spiritual successor to Bullfrog's Theme Hospital from 1997. Briony hadn't tried the game before filming this video, so come and watch as she designs her own hospital and endeavours to cure some unusual ailments, including Bed Face, Lazy Bones and Mock Star disease.

Two point Hospital Gameplay begins with a simple hospital with a small number of patients and as the levels advance it gets tougher with more patients and harder challenges. You have to Improve your facilities, upgrade machines, staff and layouts to bring in money at a faster rate. You can hire new staff members with specific abilities and train current staff members with new ones.

To help you make the right decisions, the game includes a ton of statistics to show off the strengths and weaknesses of your hospital. This includes everything from the amount of patients cured, to visitor satisfaction and staff happiness. If money ends up becoming tight, you can take out a loan or jack up the prices of treatments. The idea is to find the right balance, which becomes trickier as you start tackling larger hospitals with more patients. All while striving to turn a profit. Of course, all of this is done with Bullfrog's classic sense of humour.

Make sure to check out the video above to get Briony's first impressions!

KitGuru says: Let us know what you think of two point hospital so far! Briony will be doing another video in the near future to give a final review after she puts in some more hours.

CD Projekt Red has been teasing us with Cyberpunk 2077 details all year long and the studio is showing no signs of slowing down. At Gamescom, we were treated to some new screenshots and concept art for the game. Now, the team has launched a mysterious livestream on Twitch, leaving the community to scavenge for clues.

The stream went live earlier this morning and is currently updating with new text lines. Thousands of viewers are currently watching the stream, which appears to be phase one of an ARG. The interesting part is that this follows on from last week's news that Cyberpunk 2077 is now playable from start to finish.

Watch live video from CD PROJEKT RED on www.twitch.tv

So far, folks on Reddit have figured out that some of the text leads to a PNG file header. Investigations are still in the early stages but the community will likely find more clues soon.

As with any ARG, we can expect more cryptic clues to follow on from this, with some sort of reveal at the very end. We don't know how long CD Projekt Red will drag this out for but we are hoping for something on the quicker end of the spectrum. Blizzard riled up fans last year with its several month long teaser campaign for a new Overwatch character. Earlier this year, Bethesda had a similar teaser stream building up to the announcement of Fallout 76, which had a much quicker turn around time.

KitGuru Says: We'll be following this stream closely for any updates. What do you think CD Projekt Red could be building up to?

While some lobby groups are still railing against the dangers of torrent sites and downloading, many around the world have moved on to much newer ways to watch protected content: like Facebook live streams. Looking to stay on top of emerging trends however is Dutch anti-piracy group, BRIEN, which has shut down popular stream, LiveBioscoop.

LiveBioscoop translates from Dutch to “LiveCinema,” and was a service which regularly streamed movies using Facebook's own, dedicated streaming service. Within a reasonably short time frame it amassed thousands of followers and regularly streamed to audiences of hundreds at a time, showing a collection of the latest movie releases.

That popularity turned out to be the service's downfall though, as with so many watching it, the Dutch media discovered it and from there, BRIEN pledged to investigate. As TorrentFreak explains, the owner was swiftly contacted by the group, which demanded that the 23 year old halt the service and pay a 7,500 euro fine.

What's most interesting about this case however, isn't that BRIEN took to the courts immediately to combat it, or that it was even technically possible, but that it was as popular as it was. Livestreaming movies means people need to be there at the right time to watch them. They don't have the ability to pause, or take a toilet break without missing something – an arguably worse experience than downloading or streaming a film yourself.

This suggests that there was some measure of benefit derived from a social, movie watching experience. That's no huge surprise considering communal movie watching has been something we've all been doing for over a century, but it suggests that even if new movies weren't retained exclusively in cinemas, it wouldn't mean the death of group movie watching.

Indeed perhaps copyright holders should consider partnerships with major sites like Facebook in the future, as streaming a movie through a platform like that would easy to monetise compared to other potential home-streaming options.

Ubisoft might not be your favourite publisher these days but its studios do occasionally churn out something good. Today, Ubisoft has kicked off a surprise livestream over on YouTube, promising an announcement ‘coming soon'. It also comes with the tagline “Survival is timeless”, which seems to be an obvious hint at a survival game.

The image displayed on the screen backs the theory up, depicting what could be a tribesman with his bow and spear, out on the hunt.

Survival Ubisoft

[yframe url='https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAQmt-60nUY']

No other details are available at this time, we don't even know when the actual announcement is coming, but it will be happening on this livestream at some point so it is worth keeping an eye on.

Given the insane popularity of titles like DayZ, Ark and Rust, amongst many, many other Early Access survival titles, it was only a matter of time before a Triple A publisher attempted to break in to the genre. Now we just have to wait and see how it turns out, who knows, maybe Ubisoft will be the first company to release a completed survival game that's actually good. Or maybe it will also join the other popular survival games in Early Access, we'll have to wait and see.

KitGuru Says: So Ubisoft is probably announcing a survival game. It was only a matter of time before the Triple A publishers took a crack at the genre following the success of Early Access titles. The big question is, do you think Ubisoft can pull it off? What would they need to do to set themselves apart from the pack?

Well if there is one story I didn't think I would be writing today- this is it. A YouTube video has emerged, showing a Japanese livestreamer lighting a match and accidentally starting a fire in his room. He then makes a few pretty bad attempts at putting it out. It all started when his attempt to light a match ended up setting the entire matchbox alight and it was all downhill from there.

Upon lighting the matchbox, the man proceeded to throw it down in to a plastic bag… filled with paper. Now the whole bag is on fire, so he takes it to a corner and tries to douse the flames with a cardboard box.

Fire

[yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_orOT3Prwg']

The whole thing kicks off at around the 4:50 mark in the video above. When all of his previous attempts don't pan out, he goes to get a duvet and tries to squash the flames with that. At this point, the fire is pretty big and things are only getting worse. The video ends with smoke filling the room, a big fire in the corner and the man exiting, presumably to call the fire department.

As far as we know, the man is okay after the incident. The lesson here is, don't light entire matchboxes on fire, in a room filled with cardboard boxes. Also, water is usually pretty good at dousing flames.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: This was obviously an unfortunate incident and probably one that you wouldn't want broadcast on the internet forever. As far as we know, nobody was harmed, though I imagine quite a bit of property damage occurred. If you're going to be lighting matches and smoking at your desk, at least know some basic fire safety rules.
