The Glorious Model O and Model D gaming mice swiftly became favourites amongst enthusiast PC gamers. Now, Glorious is returning with two new versions, the Model O 2 Pro and the Model D 2 Pro, alongside new 4K/8KHz versions.

On the surface, Glorious’ new mice echo similar designs to the original Model O and Model D. The four mice all sport a wireless design, are finished in matte black, but feature zero RGB lighting and zero holes. The Model O 2 PRO retains its ambidextrous design, whilst the Model D PRO is aimed at right-handed users.

The mice all sport 100% PTFE feet, 6 remappable buttons, a BAMF 2.0 26K sensor with Motion Sync technology, 100M optical switches for lower input response times, and offer up to 80 hours of battery life or up to 35 hours at 4000Hz polling rates. The key difference between the standard and 4K/8KHz models is in the receiver. The standard models ship with a normal 2.4GHz wireless dongle, while the premium versions ship with a 2.4GHz 4KHz wireless receiver and are capable of up to 8000Hz polling rate.

You can find all of the new Glorious gaming mice at Overclockers UK now.

Glorious PC Gaming Race caused a stir in the gaming mouse market with the release of the Model O, an affordable, very lightweight gaming mouse. Now later this year, the Model O is going wireless.

Following what the company describes as an “extensive research and development process”, the Glorious Model O Wireless is finally ready for prime time, aiming to be a “perfectly designed wireless mouse specifically for PC gamers”.

The Model O wireless weighs in at just 69 grams, which is not far off the weight of the wired model. It also comes with an all new BAMF sensor, which offers up to 19,000 DPI with a tracking speed of 400.

According to the company's own early internal tests, the Glorious Model O wireless offers the lowest latency amongst top-tier wireless gaming mice. Battery life is also supposed to last 71 hours before requiring a charge. The Glorious Model O Wireless will be available this year for $79.99. UK pricing and availability details should come a bit later.

KitGuru Says: Did many of you buy the original Model O when it came out? Would you consider getting a wireless version?

Glorious PC Gaming Race has made a significant impression on mouse and keyboard enthusiasts over the last year. The ball got rolling with the Model O, a sensibly priced take on ambidextrous RGB gaming mice with a sleek design, reduced weight and a custom cable to retain flexibility while reducing common issues like cable drag. Now as we get close to wrapping up the year, it looks like the Glorious Model D mouse is close to launch, bringing an ergonomic frame option to the lineup.

As with the Model O and Model O-, the Model D will use a honeycomb shell to reduce weight, bringing the mouse to under 69g, with matte or glossy options available depending on preference.

While this is a ergonomic mouse with more room for your thumb to rest on the side of the mouse, the Model D will still be minimalist in terms of buttons, sticking with two additional buttons on the side for custom controls. Of course, when you are trying to make a range of the world's lightest gaming mice, a minimalist approach is essential as every component matters and needs to be thoughtfully considered alongside other features.

The Glorious PC Gaming Race Model D will be launching in December 2019, hitting the same $49.99 price tag as the Model O. We should get confirmation on the sensor, button switches and other specs closer to the time as the design gets finalised and put into production.

The Model D is the second of four planned mice, so there are still two more on the way that will focus on other body types. Ambidextrous and Ergonomic are now done, so the next two have potential to be particularly niche and interesting.

KitGuru Says: The Model D looks very tempting as I've always had a slight preference for ergonomic over ambidextrous. Looking ahead though, I am particularly looking forward to seeing the next two mice. If we're getting one new model per grip type, then the two most popular options are now sorted. Perhaps we'll see a slim but slightly longer mouse next year for fingertip grip users.

Glorious PC Gaming Race has been working on its own peripherals for a while now. We've already seen the launch of the fully customisable mechanical keyboard and now, the Model O Gaming Mouse is heading our way.

The Model O is designed based off of suggestions from the PC gaming community. It is fairly minimalist in appearance, with sleek RGB LED strips down the sides of the mouse, two side buttons, a DPI toggle and hex cutouts across the body to cut down on weight. By using the honeycomb design, the mouse weight is cut down to just 67g, making it one of the lightest around.

Other features include a Pixart 3360 sensor with a 1ms polling rate and 0.7mm lift-off distance, ‘G-skate' feet underneath for additional surface grip, a 2-meter braided cable and up to 12,000 DPI sensitivity.

Here is the spec sheet:

  • Ultra lightweight honeycomb design coming in at just 67g.
  • Proprietary 2.0m Ascend Cord braided cable .
  • G-Skate Feet made of 100% Virgin PTFE material, rounded edges and 0.81mm thickness.
  • Customisable DPI Indicator with dedicated software and 400 / 800 / 3200 default settings with a maximum DPI of 12,000 DPI.
  • Pixart 3360 Sensor with 1000Hz polling rate (1ms) and 0.7mm life-off distance.
  • Available in both Black and White with matt or gloss finish.
  • Fully customisable RGB lighting controllable via optional software.

The Model O comes with its own software so you can adjust DPI, save different profiles and customise the RGB lighting. Here, in the UK, you'll be able to get the black or white, glossy or matte versions through Overclockers UK, with prices starting at £49.99.

KitGuru Says: I'm looking forward to getting my hands on one of these myself. The Mamba-like RGB strips along the sides look very nice and the price seems very sensible. Are any of you currently looking to get a new mouse? What do you think of the Model O?
