Nowadays, a lot of PC gamers are gravitating towards larger mouse pads that can cover their whole desk. This week, Thermaltake is looking to serve that exact market, with a new M900 XXL RGB mousepad, complete with colourful LEDs around the entire edge.

Thermaltake's new M900 XXL RGB mouse pad is designed to cover a full desk, with a length of 1600mm and a width of 800mm, it also has 4mm of depth, so any uneven surfaces will be smoothed out for a perfect surface to glide your mouse around.

The M900 XXL RGB Mouse Pad comes with the Thermaltake's “iTAKE Engine Software” that makes it possible to customise, control, and sync lighting effects. The company's iTAKE engine software connects all Thermaltake gaming peripherals and TT RGB PLUS compatible products – making it easier for the user to create “one complete ecosystem”.

The M900 XXL RGB Mouse Pad is available to order for a price of 89.90.

Razer has launched a new mouse pad, although this one is a little different, breaking tradition with glowing LEDs. The mouse pad's official name is ‘The Firefly' and it uses the same lighting technology as the other Chroma peripherals.

The RGB craze has been catching on heavily ever since Corsair launched the K70 RGB keyboard. Razer was hot on the heels, launching Chroma branded RGB mice, keyboards and headsets late last year.

rzrfirefly_03-01

The Firefly supports 16.8 million colours, a figure that is tossed around by pretty much every RGB product out. There will also be lighting effects, including pulse, wave, reactive and spectrum.

The mouse pad itself uses a textured surface, rather than using a smooth cloth one. Obviously there is a downside, being that it is a Razer product and it uses RGB lighting, there is a rather large price tag. The Firefly costs £54.99 in the UK, which is a crazy amount of money for a mouse mat.

You can find the Razer Firefly, HERE.

KitGuru Says: While I'm sure the Firefly is a very pretty mouse mat and would likely go very well with the other Chroma peripherals, £54.99 is an awful lot of money, especially when you consider that you can get a pretty capable gaming mouse or keyboard for that price.

As the second mouse from Roccat's updated Kone series to hit our labs, the Kone Pure looks to offer the same excellent gaming performance as its sibling – the Kone XTD – while reducing the physical dimensions and retail price. Does the Kone Pure have what it takes to impress as much as the ‘Must Have' Kone XTD did?

Packing an 8200 DPI Pro-Aim laser R3 sensor and a 32-bit Turbo Core V2 72MHz processor into a form factor that is 91% the size of the Kone[+], Roccat's Kone Pure targets gamers that lust for a mouse that has the ability to offer outstanding performance while maintaining a sleek, user-friendly style.

Accompanying the Kone Pure during testing will be Roccat's Hiro gaming mouse pad. The surface's large 350 x 250 x 2.5mm size and vulcanised silicone surface give gamers a good degree of free movement that is required when contesting at the highest levels.

Is the Kone Pure a worthy addition to Roccat's flagship series? And is the Hiro gaming surface its perfect partner?

Specifications:

  • Pro-Aim Laser Sensor R3 with up to 8200dpi
  • 1000Hz polling rate
  • 1ms response time
  • 30G acceleration
  • 1-5mm Lift off distance
  • Tracking & Distance Control Unit (TDCU)
  • 72MHz Turbo Core V2 32-bit Arm based MCU
  • 576kB onboard memory
  • Zero angle snapping/prediction
  • 1.8m braided USB cable

An XFX Mousemat? eh? say what? Normally, when someone offers me a mousepad for review, I immediately feign interest and try to end the phone call as quickly as possible. Reviewing a mouse mat is generally as exciting as watching the coffee pot boil. Today however we are looking at a rather radical design from XFX which they claim will redefine the gaming market.

XFX have been highly regarded for years as producing some of the finest graphics cards on the market, both for Nvidia and in recent years AMD. This is a radical move for the company as they look to join a handful of other manufacturers who want to expand their product portfolio. The aggressively named XFX WarPad is targeting the hard core gaming audience; clan members who spend most of their life gaming.

As we can immediately see, the WarPad is a dramatic design, which curves around the desk surface to enhance wrist support.

Specifications:

  • Dimensions: 16.97 in x 13.98 in x 1.86 in
  • Weight: 34.02 oz (970 g)
  • Supports up to two table tops
  • Warranty: 1 year
