While Star Wars Outlaws was expected to launch in early 2024 at one point, the game was delayed to later in the year. However, the game may still arrive well before the holiday season, with recent developments indicating a release date announcement is coming soon.

Star Wars Outlaws has now been rated in both South Korea and Australia, brandishing a ‘Mature' rating from Australia's classification board. As Insider Gaming points out, this would be roughly equivalent to a ‘Teen' rating from the ESRB.

Typically, ratings like this pop up a few months ahead of a game's release. It has previously been claimed that despite delays, the game is being planned for the first half of this year. These recent ratings support that idea.

If true, then Ubisoft will be revealing more of the game and starting its marketing push quite soon, ahead of a potential June release. With that said, Ubisoft has never been shy about delaying projects, to the point where announced release dates often can't be trusted, so we'll have to wait and see how it goes. On the positive side, we have not heard anything about development troubles with this project, so it could be progressing well and ahead of schedule.

KitGuru Says: May the 4th is coming up and typically, Disney likes to use this date to make announcements for Star Wars projects across all forms of media, from film and TV to comics, books and games. With that in mind, it seems highly likely that we'll get release date news around that time.

First announced back in 2021, Star Wars Outlaws is an upcoming 3rd person open world action-adventure title which looks to be offering the ultimate Star Wars experience, featuring stealth; open combat; space fights and more. Announced to be coming in 2024, Outlaws has now seemingly had its release window leaked.

As discovered by IGN, a new post published by the official Disney Parks blog seems to suggest that Star Wars Outlaws will arrive sometime during the latter half of 2024, saying:

“Star Wars Outlaws, the open world Star Wars game, is set to release late this year. The game lets you explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new. You can risk it all as Kay Vess, an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, along with her companion Nix. If you're willing to take the risk, the galaxy is full of opportunity.”

While not quite a concrete release window, this post corroborates previous claims by Ubisoft which stated that a “large game” was originally planned to release in early 2024 before being pushed to the next fiscal year (meaning sometime between April 2024 and March 2025).

While we have not seen too much from the game, what has been shown looked rather impressive. Hopefully the internal delay gives the team at Ubisoft Massive enough time to ensure a smooth and successful launch. We will have to wait and see.

Ubisoft has had a big release planned for early 2024 for quite some time. While not confirmed to be Star Wars Outlaws, it was widely believed that Ubisoft's Star Wars game would be releasing earlier than expected, especially after the 10-minute gameplay reveal this summer. However, the game may have now been delayed.

As part of its recent earnings report, Ubisoft informed investors that it has projected earnings for the next quarter and those projections take into account that Ubisoft is no longer releasing “the other large game it has initially planned to launch” in early 2024. This mystery game is now expected in the next fiscal year, so its release could fall somewhere between April 2024 and March 2025.

While not directly named as Star Wars Outlaws, this game was widely rumoured to be coming in Q1 2024. Ubisoft does name the other games still releasing in this fiscal year, and that list includes Assassin's Creed Mirage, Skull and Bones, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Just Dance 2024, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Assassin's Creed Nexus VR, Rainbow Six Mobile, The Division Resurgence and XDefiant.

Based on that rather full list of upcoming releases, combined with Ubisoft's list of announced upcoming titles, Star Wars Outlaws does appear to fit the bill as the game being referred to in the investor note.

Like clockwork, the developers over at Hello Games have dropped a massive new No Man’s Sky update – and as always it is 100% free. The new ‘Outlaws’ update focuses on entirely new systems with “the ability to recruit your own squadron of pilots; improved space combat; a stunning Solar Sail Starship, and much more!”

In a typically massive blog post on their website, Hello Games have released the full patch notes for update 3.85 ‘Outlaws’ which bring with it a number of additions across the board but with a focus on starships.

The biggest improvements added with this update includes:

  • A new high-tech starship class known as Solar Ships
  • Outlaw Stations where System authority has been surrendered to rebel forces, leaving space unpoliced and ripe for piracy.
  • Improved Space combat
  • An overhaul to destruction and engine effects, making space combat more exciting
  • More varied ships in the sky
  • Smuggling
  • In-atmosphere combat
  • Ship cargo hold
  • You can now recruit roaming pilots into your own squadron to accompany you along your journey
  • Cloth simulation
  • Planetary pirate raids

As always, these are but a few of the dozens of updates, fixes, improvements and refinements. No Man’s Sky is continuing to be the champion in post-launch support, with many subtle and not-so-subtle additions helping to create a game that feels fresher and bigger than ever more than half a decade from launch. The No Man’s Sky Outlaw update is available now.

Update: Following on from an apparent leak last week, Warner Bros is reportedly going to announce its next DC game on Friday. According to updated rumours, a teaser image for ‘Outlaws' is set to go live on social media within the next couple of days, we will then see a ‘world premiere' trailer on Friday the 26th of April.

Outlaws will be a ‘live service' style game set in the DC universe. It will be online/multiplayer, borrowing elements from similar games in the genre with a focus on seeking out better loot and playing in co-op. Famous DC heroes and villains will show up, including Arrow and Ra's Al Ghul. Players will also visit famous DC locales, including Gotham and Star City.

Original Story: Earlier this year, an internal marketing plan document leaked much of Warner Bros pre-release plans for Mortal Kombat 11. As time went on, the leak was proven to be completely accurate. Now, a very similar leak has seemingly given us a look at an unannounced DC game, which will combine multiplayer elements with the universe set up throughout the Batman Arkham games.

Throughout the Arkham series, there have been numerous hints to the larger DC universe. Many have speculated that Rocksteady is working on another DC universe game, with rumours pointing to Superman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Batman Beyond and even Suicide Squad.

We don't know if Rocksteady is working on the game talked about in this leak. What we do know is that the project will be announced with a CG trailer before E3, followed by reveal trailers for specific characters and locations featured throughout the game. The leak specifically points towards playable versions of Gotham and Star City, with Arrow and Ra's Al Ghul being the characters mentioned.

There will apparently be a playable demo available at E3 and a live gameplay video ready to release. The goal of this footage will be to convey the core mechanics of the game, which include team work, customisation options, combat, super powers and loot.

Various cities will act as hub areas, similar to the Tower in Destiny. The game will be online/multiplayer but there will also be ‘multiple story lines' and paths to follow.

There have been rumours in the past hinting towards a ‘Destiny-like' loot based multiplayer game set in the DC universe. It is possible that someone took that information and crafted fake marketing plan documentation based on that. With that in mind, do consider all of this information to be rumour. If it does prove to be true, then there will likely be more concrete leaks as we get closer to E3.

KitGuru Says: At the moment, many big publishers are chasing the ‘live service' game model, as it paves the way for a lengthier revenue stream compared to many single-player titles. With that in mind, I would not be surprised if Warner Bros was planning something similar to Destiny or The Division based in the DC universe. Although I do hope that Rocksteady is working on a single-player story-based game. What do you guys think of this rumour?

Red Dead Redemption 2 Gameplay (Part 2!) https://www.kitguru.net/gaming/bomenzzz/red-dead-redemption-2-gameplay-part-2/ https://www.kitguru.net/gaming/bomenzzz/red-dead-redemption-2-gameplay-part-2/#respond Fri, 02 Nov 2018 19:51:09 +0000 https://www.kitguru.net/?p=393438 Today we present part two of our Red Dead Redemption gameplay. This time around, we spend more time exploring the huge open world, as well as the different customisation options you get.

The post Red Dead Redemption 2 Gameplay (Part 2!) first appeared on KitGuru.]]>
Earlier this week, I dove into Red Dead Redemption 2 with the first in a series of long gameplay videos. Due to the size of the game and the sheer amount of content, we are presenting part 2 today. During this video, we take more time exploring the open world and different customisation features the game has to offer.

If you missed part one of our Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay, then you can find it, HERE.

This time around, I wanted to experience more of the open world areas of the game and show you guys what else the game has to offer outside of the main story missions. There are a few early story missions included but generally, I found myself wandering off in different directions exploring the map. The game itself is absolutely beautiful and presents so many opportunities to take incredible screenshots.

I've been playing on a standard PS4 PS4, so I'm not getting all that I potentially can out of the game graphically. However, I'm still very impressed with the visuals and all of the attention to detail provided. If you have yourself a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X and a 4K TV, then you are in for an even better experience as the settings are cranked up even further.

This time around, Rockstar has implemented many more customisation options to play around with. Firstly, we have weapons customisation, which you can access at any of the gunsmiths at towns spread out across the world. Weapons and their parts can be swapped out for different colours, wood finishes and you can even add personalised engravings. Beyond that, there are also weapon upgrades, which can increase power, range and accuracy.

Horses in Red Dead Redemption 2 are also brimming with personality. I was over the moon to realise that when you take a horse back to the stable, or buy a new one, you have the option to make changes to its hair, tail and saddle. Each time you get a new horse, you can give it a name, adding a more personal touch. I had a beautiful looking shire horse from the very beginning of the game and made its tail long and white. Upgrading your saddle bags also has the benefit of more inventory space. There are also ways to upgrade horse stamina and speed. You'll need to make sure you take care of your horse though, keeping it fed and brushing it every so often.

Overall, I think this is a wonderful addition for Red Dead Redemption 2, it gives you a real connection to your steed as you travel across the huge open world together. Of course, your horse can die if it gets shot, hits something too hard or falls off of a big cliff- so if you don't save often, or forget to grab a horse revival potion, then be prepared to be hit right in the feels. On the plus side, you can go back to a stable and get a new horse, starting the cycle all over again.

After 6+ hours in Red Dead Redemption 2, I really haven't got that far into the game, which I'm pleased about. This game has so much to offer and I can't wait to explore more of it.

KitGuru Says: Have many of you picked up Red Dead Redemption 2 yet? If so, how are you finding it so far?

Over the weekend, BoMenzzz checked it out on PS4, providing lengthy gameplay and first impressions.

ROCKSTAR GAMES has done it again! Finally, after enduring the long, 8-year wait, Red Dead Redemption 2 has launched and we couldn't be more excited to jump in. The game has already garnered heavy critical acclaim with a whopping 97 score on Metacritic. Will Red Dead Redemption 2 end up being the game of the year?

Red Dead Redemption 2, just like the first in the series, is a wild west themed action-adventure game with a big open world map. In Red Dead Redemption 2, you follow the story of an Outlaw called Arthur Morgan, a member of Dutch Van der Linde's gang. On your journey, you'll come across some very familiar faces, with some carrying over from the first game. Currently, the story mode for Red Dead Redemption 2 is available but an online mode is heading our way before the end of the year.

The map in this game is HUGE and features many of the same areas as the first game. The graphics are top-tier, giving us a chance to get immersed within the beautiful surroundings before doing typical rootin' tootin' Outlaw things.

Over the weekend, I managed to squeeze in a few hours of gameplay, with the first three-hours or being more scripted than the rest of the game. It takes a while, but you'll get to a point in the story where the map fully opens up and you are free to explore. At launch, you have the option to play in either third-person or first-person, although in my personal opinion, Rockstar's games don't work too well in first-person.

While playing through the opening missions, Rockstar does a good job of reintroducing you to the different mechanics and gameplay systems. There are completely new features, in addition to mechanics that players of the first game will be familiar with. Here are some examples:

Weapon Wheel – Instead of having the ability to choose any weapon you would like to you use while on the go, you have 3 slots for guns. Guns are stored on your horse and you'll need to switch your loadout from the Horse's saddle bags, adding a more realistic feeling to the game. The horse can also be used to store other useful items like medicines, food, drinks etc. Having an extra inventory slot on the horse comes in handy, as it makes it less likely that you'll be unable to pick up new loot while ex

Surviving You have to eat, drink, sleep, shave and bathe in order to be healthy and make people happy.  But it isn't as easy as just eating a load of food and thinking that's okay. You can become overweight and this slows your character down, so stamina gets used up faster and  regenerates slower. Players will need to maintain a healthy life style in order to avoid stat reductions. Weapon degradation is also a new feature, meaning you'll need to clean your guns and maintain them over time to stop them from breaking. Horse's also have their own stats and can die permanently, so taking care of it is a vital part of surviving in the world. So, look after your steed and feed, groom, pet and give them all the love so you don't regret it and lose your 4-legged storage container and have to capture a new one, or buy one.

HuntingThe game includes around 200 different species of animals and you will need to hunt them for food and crafting materials. You can use ‘eagle eye' to spot animal tracks in the wilderness, you can then follow the path. You need to be careful while hunting though as there is a ‘wind indicator' while tracking wildlife- if you are downwind, they may pick up your scent and flee as you approach.

Rockstar has gone to great lengths to boost realism and immersion in Red Dead Redemption 2 but there are points where it might be taken a bit too far. While playing through, I was disappointed in the long looting animations. Many times, I encountered a large amount of enemies and upon killing them, I wanted to go back and loot their bodies. Unfortunately, this process is very time consuming, as you have to sit and watch Arthur Morgan bend down, rummage through, grab the loot and then stand back up. I understand what Rockstar was going for, but given the amount of enemies you'll be taking down, and the fact that each one potentially has something worth picking up, this method does become a bit tedious.

There is definitely a lot more within the game for you guys to experience, and as always, there is a huge amount of content to get engrossed in. If you are on the fence, then check out our gameplay video above and see the game in action for yourself, all running on a PS4.

KitGuru Says: Red Dead Redemption 2 is another impressive game from Rockstar. There is still so much of the game left to play through. Did any of you pick this one up over the weekend? What do you think of it so far?
