Last year we took a look at the Ozone Neon mouse – finding it to be a solid offering for those not interested in fancy lighting or sensors with crazy DPI levels (like many of the latest mice all seem to be doing). Now, Ozone have released a successor – the Neon 3K. The ‘3K' in the name refers to its max DPI of 3500, in case you were wondering.

Unlike its predecessor, the Ozone Neon 3K can switch between 6 different lighting colours. Its maximum DPI is a fair bit lower, though – topping out at 3500, when the original Neon could go up to 6400. General design is also very similar – with eight re-programmable buttons and an ambidextrous shape to the mouse. We put it through its paces and see how it fares.

We have reviewed quite a few Ozone mice over the last few years and have been consistently impressed but this week, we got to take a look at a few we have not seen before, including the Exon F60 , Exon F90 and the Neon M50.

Finally, Ozone is launched the Strike Pro Spectra, an RGB version of the Strike Pro keyboard, which uses Cherry MX switches and comes with a slew of lighting effects and presets, there is also a smaller ten-keyless version. If you aren't a big fan of flashy colours, then there is also the Strike X30 keyboard, which keeps the Cherry MX switches but removes the RGB.

KitGuru Says: Ozone has quite a few interesting peripherals in its line-up for 2016. Are any of you currently using an Ozone mouse or keyboard? Are you looking to upgrade later this year?

Ozone is expanding its mouse line-up this week with the launch of the brand new Neon 3K gaming mouse. Powered by one of the most precise mouse sensors available on the market today, Ozone's team of engineers have worked hard to deliver a top performance mouse that will satisfy even the most competitive gamers.

In this case, the Neon 3K uses the Pixart 3320 optical sensor, which is capable of tracking up to 3500 DPI, while ensuring accurate and fast movements. There is also an on-the-fly sensitivity toggle that will let you cycle through different levels of DPI depending on the situation.

The Neon 3K has kept the same ambidextrous shape as the original Neon, making it a great option for both left and right-handed gamers, it is also built with using an anti-slip material to help with grip. Ozone's latest mouse is also customisable, with eight buttons on the mouse in total, all of which can be reprogrammed, allowing users to set up macros and profiles that can be saved to the 128kb built-in memory on the mouse itself.

We reviewed the original Ozone Neon last year and were fairly impressed by it. This year, the Ozone 3K comes in at a price point of just under €35.

KitGuru Says: The last Ozone Neon was a pretty solid mouse so it will be interesting to see how this one stacks up to the competition this year. Do any of you currently use an Ozone mouse? Would you recommend them?

PC gamers come in all shapes and sizes and so do the spaces they game on. If you have a small room with limited desk space are you stuck with an oversized keyboard? This is the group of gamers that Ozone is hoping to appeal to with its new STRIKE Battle keyboard – a barebones design with an eye-catching metallic red paint job.

Its unique look is backed up by customisable backlighting and mechanical switches, ticking most of the boxes that gamers hold most dear. How does it perform though?

Still, that is exactly what has happened with Ozone's latest hardware, which is named after one of the highest earning eSports gamers in the world: Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez.

Still, that does not necessarily mean it is a winner – which is why we will be putting both the Argon Ocelote World mouse and mat through their paces. Can the ‘Ocelote' stamp really make a difference in the real world?

Scientists have been analysing the Ozone hole over the Antarctica and have came to a rather frightening conclusion. The hole reached its annual peak on September the 12th and stretched across 10.05 million square miles, according to a report that NASA filed yesterday.

NASA work with the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration to use balloon borne instruments, satellites and ground instruments to monitor the ozone layer. This is critical in analysing protection from ultraviolet radiation.

Ozone depleting chemicals in the atmosphere have caused significant damage to the layer around the Earth and are a key part of the results. James Butler, director of NOAA's Global Monitoring Division in Boulder, Ohio said “The upper part of the atmosphere over the South Pole was colder than average this season and that cold air is one of the key ingredients for ozone destruction.”

How can we help this? More information is available here.
