Phanteks is back with its latest round of PC cases. The new Phanteks XT series is designed to cater towards gaming PCs, giving ample room for high-end hardware and additional cooling, as well as the aesthetic thrills we typically find in more expensive cases. all while keeping prices at a wallet-friendly level.

One of the standout features of the XT series is its ability to support large graphics cards without sacrificing elegance. The XT Pro Ultra and XT View versions have integrated USB-C 3.2 Gen2 for fast data transfers. The XT Series is also designed to support the latest motherboard designs, including the MSI Project Zero and ASUS BTF. Moreover, these cases come with concealed back connections for a cable-free, organised interior layout.

The XT cases can all fit a 360mm radiator in the roof, or a 240mm radiator on the side, and depending on the variant, you'll also get up to four Phanteks M25 fans pre-installed. The XT Pro/Pro Ultra supports up to 10x 120mm and 6x 140mm fan placements, while the XT View supports up to 9x 120mm fans. Phanteks has gone above and beyond to ensure that the graphics card is given extra attention, with three 120mm fan placements on top of the PSU shroud for additional cooling.

These cases are scheduled to be released in March. The XT Pro will only be available in black for £50.99/$49.99/€49.90. The XT Pro Ultra Black will be priced at £66.95/$69.99/€69.90, while the white model will cost £70.99/$74.99/€74.90. Lastly, the two XT View models (white and black) will cost £74.99/$79.99/€79.90.

KitGuru says: Based on their looks, pricing, and specifications, the new Phanteks XT cases may have what it takes to dominate the entry-level segment.

Earlier this year, Phanteks rolled out its new Glacier One D30 AIO liquid coolers, sporting a 240mm or 360mm radiator, along with Phanteks excellent D30 RGB fans. Now a couple of months later, the 420mm version of this cooler is now hitting the market.

The Glacier One D30 AIO cooler comes equipped with Phanteks' own D30 fans, offering one of the smoothest D-RGB lighting systems on the market. Better yet, the D30 fans can be daisy-chained and controlled through a single cable, eliminating cable clutter and simplifying your cooling setup.

The cooler’s large copper base and fin array ensure efficient heat dissipation, making it an ideal choice for high-end CPUs. As you would expect from an AIO unit, the sleek and compact design also means you have plenty of clearance for other components, including tall RAM modules.

There are now three Glacier One D30 coolers available – 240mm, 360mm and 420mm priced at £12999, £154.99 and £169.99 respectively. Each model is also available in either black or white, so you can pick the one that best suits your build. All three AIO coolers are now available at Overclockers UK.

Phanteks is expanding the D30 fan lineup with a range of D30–140 fans. These new 140mm fans with D-RGB lighting are based on the well-known T30 fans, which have been widely praised for their performance in different applications.

Phanteks has devised bridge connections and screw cover plates that allow several D30 fans to be combined effortlessly. This approach eliminates cable clutter and combines many fans into a cohesive, aesthetically appealing box, resulting in a cleaner setup. Moreover, the D-RGB lighting on the D30-140 fans is integrated on all sides of the fan's frame and blades.

The D30-140 fans are available in both conventional and reversed airflow modes, giving customers more choices on how to make their PC cooling setup. These fans thrive on restricted surfaces like radiators and mesh filters thanks to the high air pressure they produce, which results from the strong 30mm frame and fan blades inspired by T30s. The D30-140 fans are now available as a single unit and in 3-packs. However, Phanteks is planning to use them on the upcoming Glacier One 420D30 as well.

The Phanteks D30-140 fans are now available in black and white. A single D30-140 fan costs $29.99/€29.90/£29.90. Alternatively, you can get a 3-pack for $84.99/€84.90/£84.90. Pricing is the same regardless of colour or airflow orientation.

KitGuru says: The option of reverse airflow fans is always a nice touch. Are you in the market for a new set of connectable RGB case fans?

This month, it has come to light that Lian Li is suing multiple rival PC case fan makers, alleging patent infringement. Thermaltake and Phanteks are both in the crosshairs at the moment, but Phanteks has responded, denying that it is infringing on Lian Li's daisy-chain fan patent.

In a notice sent out to press outlets today, Phanteks confirms that it has been targeted by Lian Li in a lawsuit. The company says it consulted with patent lawyers during the development of its D30 fans and found that the design would not infringe on Lian Li's patent. Phanteks asserts that the “D30 fans are an original idea and have been issued patents in multiple countries to date”.

While Phanteks disagrees with Lian Li's lawsuit against them, the company also says it respects valid and enforceable IP rights and are “confident that the result of this legal matter will confirm there is no infringement”.

Phanteks may have a point too. While the Lian Li UNIFAN design uses a seamless magnetic connection method for daisy-chaining fans, Phanteks' D30 fans use additional clips to attach fans together. These clips don't come pre-installed either, so there is some assembly involved on the user's end.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: Lawyers will no doubt spend hours arguing over the similarities and differences between these fan designs. From an outside perspective though, I'd say the D30s are different enough to not be considered a copycat product, but that's just one tech enthusiast's opinion. For now, we'll have to wait and see how things shake out as legal proceedings continue.

There is a lawsuit brewing among two big names in the PC component space. Lian Li patented its case fan daisy-chaining method years ago and now claims that Phanteks' new D30 series fans are infringing on that patent.

Lian Li obtained the patent for an “illumination fan connectable with at least one illumination fan for a computer” back in 2020. The patent also details the design, in which an RGB fan has a power socket and a connector on one side of the body, which can connect to a second connector on the other side of the body, allowing RGB fans to be daisy chained.

As the case listing on Justica shows, Lian Li filed the lawsuit against Phanteks Europe and Axpertec Inc. on the 8th of September. For those who don't know, Axpertec is a spare parts supplier for Phanteks products in Europe. It doesn't appear that Phanteks has added to the case docket yet with its own filing. It has been reported that Lian Li sent a letter detailing its complaints to Phanteks earlier this year ahead of the lawsuit filing.

Neither company has commented on the lawsuit publicly but we'll keep an eye out for updates in the months ahead.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: If Lian Li's lawsuit is successful, then Phanteks may find itself in a position where it has to change the design of its daisy-chain fans, or pay royalties for use of the patent.

The Phanteks liquid cooling line-up is welcoming two new additions today. First up is the new Glacier R260C Pump Combo unit, simplifying your loop with a pump/reservoir combo containing a powerful D5 pump pre-installed. Next up is the Glacier C370, a new CPU block for both Intel and AMD CPUs.

The Glacier R260C meets the demands of high-end components with a 275ml capacity reservoir, and a D5 pump to ensure coolant is constantly flowing and cycling through your hardware. The combo has multiple inputs and outputs, giving you options for orientation and mounting while planning your cooling loop. The transparent backplate allows for the integrated D-RGB lighting to shine through too, adding an extra dash of colour to your build.

Today, the Glacier C370 waterblock also becomes available. Designed for both Intel and AMD CPUs, the block is equipped with a metal contact plate and contains a large fin array to aid with heat dissipation for high-end processors.

The base plate of the Glacier C370 is pure copper for great conductivity and the body is nickel-plated Polyoxymethylene (POM) which is highly resistant to temperature changes. As temperatures will change rapidly, the Polyoxymethylene allows the block to maintain its structural integrity. Viton O-rings are also used for durability.

The Glacier R260 Pump/Reservoir combo will be available from Overclockers UK, priced at £229.99. The Glacier C370 waterblocks start at £89.99 for the black version, going up to £99.99 for the white version.

Phanteks had a fully booked suite at Computex this year, with fellow YouTubers like Gamers Nexus and Paul's Hardware roaming the room alongside us. This year, Phanteks is debuting new NV-series cases to follow up on the fantastic NV7, alongside new AIO coolers and even cable-free power supplies.

  • 06:14 NV9 and GPU mount
  • 07:37 Enthoo Pro II Server Edition

Our first stop at the Computex suite was the power supply section. Moving forward, Phanteks plans to offer an option for consumers to buy power supplies without cables, which would ship in a smaller box and result in decent savings for the consumer. The idea would then be you could re-use your current power supply cables, or you could go a step further and grab some custom cables from the likes of Cablemod.

The Phanteks Glacier One 360D30 is an upgraded version of the AIO liquid cooler with D30-120 fans. These fans can be chained together for easy installation and they also offer smooth RGB lighting throughout the fan blades.

Following up on the successful NV7 chassis, Phanteks is now launching the NV5, a smaller version of the NV7. It did look stunning in the showcase build we saw on display. The NV5 does come with some additional accessories too, including magnetic RGB strips. However, it does not ship with any pre-installed fans. An LCD Display attachment will be available eventually, offering a magnetic QHD LCD display with HDMI connectivity. An NV9 chassis is also on the way later in the year, an even bigger version of the case, with an inclined GPU mount.

Back in late 2022, Phanteks launched a trio of G500A cases. Now, Phanteks is upgrading its G300 cases with the new Eclipse G300A, available in two flavours, one with a solid front panel and another with a full mesh front panel for improved airflow.

The G300A chassis is a refined version of the older P300A. The newer model includes improved cooling and fan support and a more modern finish.

On the cooling front, the Eclipse G300A has been reconfigured to allow for up to a 360mm radiator in the front, and up to a 240mm radiator in the roof of the case. Overall, the case can support up to six 120mm fans and if you do go down the liquid cooling route, there is an additional 30mm of clearance space for radiators, so your fans won't be starved for airflow.

The chassis supports ATX motherboards, CPU coolers up to 162mm tall and GPUs up to 390mm long. The top panel has a USB 3.0 Type-A port, a USB 3.0 Type-C port, as well as the usual power/reset buttons and audio jacks.

The Phanteks Eclipse G300A makes an ideal choice for those on a tighter budget, with prices starting at just £54.95 for the standard version and £64.99 for the mesh version with D-RGB fans.

The RTX 4080 is a powerful graphics card and most air-cooled models are indeed massive, taking up a lot of space inside of PC cases. One way to shrink down the size of the graphics card and improve performance is to add a liquid cooling block. Today, Phanteks is announcing its new Glacier G4080 Asus GPU block, compatible with the Strix and TUF RTX 4080 graphics cards.

The Strix and TUF RTX 4080s each have bulky triple-fan coolers. The Glacier G4080 replaces this with a slimmer liquid cooling block, custom designed for Asus's custom Strix and TUF cards. The block uses a transparent acrylic jet plate positioned directly over the GPU die to ensure optimal heat transfer. The backplate is included with all models to provide a smooth integrated look while providing additional cooling to the back of the PCB.

The full cover copper cold plate directly cools all memory and power delivery components on the PCB with high-quality thermal pads. The Glacier G4080 ASUS GPU Block also introduces some new features, such as a new fitting location to allow for better tube routing. To improve stability, a GPU support bracket is added to connect the water block to the rear PCI bracket so that the GPU is mounted more securely.

The Phanteks Glacier G4080 Asus GPU block will be available in Satin Black (£229.90), Matte White (£244.90) and Chrome (£244.90).

Back at CES, Phanteks gave us a preview of the upcoming NV7 chassis, boasting an all-new design aimed at providing the best view of your system. Today, the NV7 is officially launching in both black and white colour options.

Phanteks has designed the NV7 to maintain good airflow, while also allowing for better aesthetics with a glass front and side panel. You'll find ultra-fine mesh across the chassis, providing better airflow and dust filtration. For cooling, three fans can be installed at the top and bottom of the chassis, there is an extra slot at the rear for dual exhaust fans, or a reverse-intake setup. You can also fit four fans on the side of the case. For water-cooling, you can fit up to a 360mm radiator in the top, bottom and side of the case, or a 240mm radiator in the rear.

The NV7 can support up to an E-ATX motherboard, a CPU cooler up to 185mm tall, and graphics cards up to 450mm long – you also get an optional GPU support bracket with the case. You'll also find an SSD bracket for up to six 2.5″ SSDs, or two 3.5″ storage drives. For cable management, there are two LED cable covers, so you can route and hide your cables behind an RGB LED cover for a clean build.

The Phanteks NV7 will be available in black or matte white, priced at £199.99. Alongside the case, Phanteks is also launching its new D30-RGB fans, which we also saw at CES earlier this year. These fans stand out from the crowd with a Halo lighting ring that reflects onto the fan blades, creating a smooth lighting display. These fans are also available, priced at £74.99 for a three pack, or £25.99 per single fan.

Phanteks is kicking off March with a bang. Today, the company is launching a slew of new products, including new ATX 3.0 power supplies, a new 12VHPWR adapter cable for those upgrading to RTX 40 series graphics cards and a new set of Glacier One AIO liquid coolers.

We'll start off with the power supplies. The Phanteks Revolt SFX 850W is an ATX 3.0 power supply built with the Intel SFX12V 4.0 platform in mind. It natively supports PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR and is rated with 80Plus Platinum efficiency, guaranteeing stable power to all of your components. Phanteks is also launching the new AMP 1000W V2 PSU, which also supports 12VHPWR, PCIe 5.0 and ATX 3.0, with 80Plus Gold certification. The AMP 1000W V2 will be available in both black and white, so you can pick whichever best suits your build.

Next up we have the new Glacier ONE T30 Gen 2 AIO liquid coolers, available with a 240mm radiator or a 360mm radiator. The included T30-120mm fans are built with glass fibre-reinforced Liquid Crystal Polymer and have a three-phase motor and multiple fan modes so you can find the best balance between noise and cooling performance. Under the hood, you'll find an Asetek Gen8 pump moving the coolant through the unit.

For aesthetics, the CPU block has an infinity mirror cap and D-RGB lighting, which can be hooked straight to a Phanteks PC case, or any RGB-compatible motherboard.

All of these products will be available at etailers starting this month. The Revolt SFX 850W Platinum PSU will cost €199.90, and the AMP 1000W V2 PSUs will start at €159.90 for the black version, going up to €169.90 for the white version. If you want the Phanteks 12VHPWR adapter cable, that'll cost €19.99. Finally, the Glacier One 240T30 will cost €189.90 and the 360mm version will cost €259.90.

Our CES 2023 coverage continues today with Leo swinging by the Phanteks booth. As you would expect, the company has plenty of new hardware in store for us in 2023, from new cooling gear to cases and ATX 3.0 power supplies.

First up on our list we have the new Phanteks Shift XT, which can now fit an optional (sold separately) QHD display in the front panel of the case. While the display is high resolution, it is also quite small,  but it could be handy for displaying custom images or hardware monitoring tools if you need to keep an eye on system temperatures.

While the Shift XT is interesting, Phanteks has something even bigger up its sleeve with the new NV7 chassis. This case has been designed from the ground up to highlight system components, using a strong, defining outer frame that accentuates the hardware inside. It is a really clean-looking case that would be perfect for those who put a lot of effort into aesthetics while building a system.

We also have the new Eclipse G300A, which is a smaller case but thanks to its mesh front panel, you'll still be able to get plenty of cooling for high-end components.

Phanteks is also debuting its new Revolt SFX 850 Platinum PSU, which is ATX 3.0 compliant, making them ready for new generation graphics cards like the RTX 40 series.

On the cooling front, Phanteks has a bunch on display at CES this year, including a new range of Phanteks Polar Air Coolers, with 4 & 5 heatpipe designs in single and dual-tower heatsink options too. There are also two new Glacier One T30 AIO liquid coolers, available in 240mm and 360mm radiator configurations, with the new Asetek Gen8 pump and an RGB-lit CPU block. The new radiators are thicker than the previous generation and the new T30 fans deliver high air pressure to move air through the radiator at up to 3000RPM.

If you are looking to upgrade your case fans, the new D30-120 fans can be chained together for easy installation and they also offer smooth RGB lighting throughout the fan blades. Once all put together and set up, they look very clean and might be some of the nicest RGB fans on the market.

There's also new custom liquid cooling gear, including new Glacier water blocks for new-gen graphics cards, a new Glacier R260 pump/reservoir combo with a D5 pump inside, and a new C370 CPU block with PLA material, allowing for diffused RGB lighting through the block.

Phanteks is unveiling three new Eclipse G500 series PC cases this week. Each model offers something a little bit different, with one for D-RGB fans, another focused on performance and a fanless chassis.

The front and top panels of the G500A feature an ultra-fine mesh for airflow and dust filtration. All three G500A models also have room for up to a 420mm radiator in the front and up to a 360mm radiator in the roof, as well as a 120mm radiator on the rear fan slot. Inside, you'll also find support for up to an E-ATX motherboard, 7 PCI-E slots, and room for graphics cards up to 435mm long.

The case measures in at 500 x 240 x 515 mm (D x W x H) with a steel chassis and tempered glass side panel. The Eclipse G500A is available in satin black for all three models, but the D-RGB model does have a white colour option.  The front I/O features 1x USB 3.2 Type-C Gen 2, 2x USB 3.0 Type-A, a power button, a reset button, and a microphone/ headphone jack. The D-RGB model also features colour and mode buttons.

The Phanteks Eclipse G500A D-RGB Satin Black/ Matte White (£149.99) comes with pre-programmed D-RGB lighting in the form of two LED strips and three Phanteks M25 140mm D-RGB fans in the front. The Eclipse G500A Performance (£139.99) ships with four M25 140mm black fans – three in the front and one in the rear. It also has a white LED strip in the front. Finally, we have the G500A Fanless (£119.99) which ships with no fans, so you can save some money and reuse fans from a previous build, or buy whatever fans you want and add them straight in.

The RTX 4090 has arrived and it is truly a beastly card. We've seen many incredibly chunky air-cooled models so far, which means many looking at this GPU may be considering liquid cooling. Phanteks has those people covered with a new set of GPU water blocks.

This week, Phanteks is launching the new Glacier G40 Asus GPU block, designed to work with the Asus Strix and TUF series RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 graphics cards. With the block installed, you'll have a much slimmer graphics card that can be plumbed straight into a custom liquid cooling loop for the best performance possible.

The Phanteks Glacier G40 Asus GPU block uses a transparent acrylic jet plate positioned directly over the GPU die to ensure optimal heat transfer. The backplate is included with all models to provide a smooth integrated look while providing additional cooling to the back of the PCB.

In addition, the full cover copper cold plate directly cools all memory and power delivery components on the PCB. Finally, a new fitting location has been placed on the card for easier tube routing, and each block comes with a GPU support bracket if you need to eliminate any sagging and secure the graphics card further.

The Glacier G40 Asus GPU block will be available in Satin Black (£229.99), Chrome (£239.99) and Matte White (£239.99) colour finishes.

Back in 2018, Phanteks branched out with a secondary case brand called Metallicgear, aimed at delivering value-oriented cases. This year, Metallicgear is rebranding to MagniumGear and with that effort comes a new line-up of Neo series cases.

The new MagniumGear Neo Qube 2 and Neo Qube 2 IM (Infinity Mirror Edition) cases are launching today. Both cases are designed to be hardware showcases, with large tempered glass panels in a mid-tower, dual-chamber design to show off your hardware from multiple angles. The IM edition also has an Infinity Mirror design on the front panel, which pairs nicely with ARGB lighting to create a unique effect.

The dual-chamber design of the case makes hardware installation and cable management easy. Despite being a mid-tower, this chassis is also highly capable of housing high-end components and cooling gear. According to the company, depending on configuration, you can fit up to three 360mm radiators in here for a powerful custom liquid cooling loop.

The Neo Qube 2 cases also have new airflow optimisations, with low restriction mesh on all sides and a slidable dust filter at the bottom. All the ARGB lights are pre-integrated and pre-programmed too, so everything will be ready to go out of the box.

The MagniumGear Neo Qube 2 and Neo Qube 2 IM will be available in both black and white colour options. The black versions start at £109.99 for the standard version and goes up to £144.99 for the Infinity Mirror Edition. The white versions start at £119.99 and goes up to £149.99 for the Infinity Mirror Edition. All four cases will be available starting this month.

The new Phanteks Eclipse G360A replaces the Eclipse P360A, which is a tough proposition as we like and admire the P360A. The biggest change is that the case has been opened out so it can accommodate a 360mm radiator in the front or the roof, along with seven 120mm fans. To add to the fun it's also pretty darned cheap.

Cooling Performance

Cooling Performance Overview

We pummelled our test system with a combination of Time Spy Stress Test and Cinebench R23 which drew 690W from the wall socket. The Phanteks Eclipse G360A provided sufficient airflow to keep everything under control but we found it necessary to run the fans at a fairly high speed.

Closing Thoughts

The new Phanteks Eclipse G360A presents a number of features that we have previously seen from Phanteks so while the name confuses us slightly, the case itself is a good piece of work.

In essence you have a cheap case with a decent array of features that has been garnished with some Phanteks A-RGB fans that present an impressive light show through the mesh front panel and tempered glass window.

We have seen a similar approach from a number of other companies, however Phanteks integrates the fans into their own lighting system that can either be controlled through the hardware buttons on the case or through your motherboard software.

The details matter here as we often complain when manufacturers cheap out and use voltage controlled fans, however Phanteks has done the job properly and supplies PWM fans. If they had gone for a USB Type-C connector on the front panel we would have been fully satisfied.

You can buy the Phanteks Eclipse G360A from Overclockers UK for £84.95 HERE. Customers who purchase from the limited-run first batch will also get a fourth SK120 DRGB PWM fan for free.

Discuss on our Facebook page HERE.

Pros:

  • Phanteks D-RGB lighting is superb.
  • Very good value for money.
  • Supplied with three D-RGB PWM fans.
  • Plenty of options for cooling and storage.
  • Cable management has been thought about.

Cons:

  • Airflow is fine but not top-class.
  • No USB Type-C on the front I/O.
  • It gets noisy when you ramp up the fans.

KitGuru says: This tweaked version of Eclipse P360 is a fine addition to the Phanteks' range and we look forward to the next G model, doubtless coming soon.

If you have a Gigabyte RTX 3090 Ti Aorus Xtreme or the RTX 3090 Ti Gaming and you're not happy with its cooling performance, it might be worth knowing that Phanteks has just launched a new water block for those cards.

The new Glacier water block is bundled with a backplate and thermal pads to improve passive cooling, even if the RTX 3090 Ti GPUs don't have back-facing memory modules like the RTX 3090 cards. However, the block will undoubtedly help drop GPU temperatures and control other hotspots, as long as you have a decent custom loop to back it up.

Like in other Glacier blocks, the copper base that makes contact with the chip is nickel plated. The top is clear acrylic and has VITON O-rings for added reliability and longevity. Depending on which bundle you've chosen, the cover plate on the top and the backplate can come in black or chrome.

Both variants have D-RGB lighting that can be synced with other Phanteks' D-RGB accessories or via motherboard RGB software from motherboard vendors. The Phanteks Gigabyte bundle will be available in late June, priced at €229.99/$229.99/£194.90 for the black version and €249.99/$249.99/£214.90 for the chrome version.

During Computex 2022, Phanteks has unveiled its new, upcoming cases. Aside from new Eclipse cases, including a new Matte White P500A, Phatneks is also showcasing the Shift XT LCD Screen Module, featuring an LCD screen that can be used to replace the infinity mirror on the case.

First up, as have the new Phanteks Eclipse P500A Matte White. We reviewed the P500A at launch, praising it for its airflow and cooling. Now, the case is available in Matte White, giving you another colour option to customise your build. There are also two new Eclipse series cases on the way – the G360A and G500A, which host large mesh front panels, support for GPUs up to 400mm long and with easy installation for fans and radiators.

Next up we have the Phanteks Shift XT Screen Module. This is an add-on for the original Shift XT chassis, which we have also previously reviewed. As standard, the Shift XT ships with an Infinity Mirror design. Now, for those looking for a different effect, you can swap out the infinity mirror with an LCD display module, which you can use as an extra monitor, or to display system monitoring information, like CPU and GPU temperatures.

Finally, Phanteks has also unveiled the new LGA 1700 and AM5 bracket for the Glacier One MP AIO liquid coolers, allowing users to bring their cooler with them when upgrading to Ryzen 7000.

The Phanteks Eclipse P500A Matte White and AM5 cooler bracket will be available as of this week, while the Eclipse G360A will land on the 8th of June. The G500A case is expected this summer, and the Evolv Shift XT LCD screen module does not yet have a launch date.

Today, Phanteks is giving its Mini-ITX case series a bit of a shake-up with the new Evolv Shift XT. The big show stopper here is the ability to extend the case to three different heights, one focused on minimal footprint, one for improved airflow and maximum height for those that wish to use a 240mm or 280mm AIO liquid cooler.

The Phanteks Evolv Shift XT offers three configurations – Compact Mode (13.5 litre), Air Boost Mode (15.6 litre) and Water Cooler Mode (17.4 litre). In Air Boost Mode, you can run two internal fans for better airflow, while Water Cooler Mode gives you a bit of extra room to mount an AIO liquid cooler up to 280mm. This design allows the user to tailor the chassis to best suit their needs, whether its a low-power build or a small power house. Other key features include support for 3-slot GPUs at up to 324mm in length, a double-layer Gen4 PCIe riser cable and support for SFX and SFX-L power supplies.

Being part of the Phanteks Evolv series, the Evolv Shift XT offers premium build quality and components using thick anodized aluminium panels, PCI-e X16 Gen4 riser cable, and USB-C Gen2 front IO. Ultra-Fine Mesh panels and vented aluminium panels are also used to improve airflow, while maintaining a stylish appearance thanks to the tempered glass infinity mirror.

Launching alongside the new case is a pair of Phanteks Revolt power supplies, both sporting the SFX form factor, making them a perfect partner for a Shift XT build. There will be three of these PSUs available, a 650W and 750W 80 Plus Gold model, as well as a 750W 80 Plus Platinum rated unit.

The Phanteks Evolv Shift XT will be available in Satin Black and Galaxy Silver this month, priced at £159.90. The Phanteks Revolt PSUs will also be available, starting at £105.90 for the 650W model and going up to £123.90 for the 750W Platinum model.

KitGuru Says: Leo is already working on a review of this case, so stay tuned for some in-depth analysis and testing. In the meantime, what do you all think of the Evolv Shift XT?

It's starting to look like every CPU cooler manufacturer will be offering Intel LGA1700 mounting kits for those upgrading to an Alder Lake-S processor. This week, be quiet! and Phanteks joined the growing list.

With the increase in the size of the Intel LGA1700 socket, cooler manufacturers had to create new mounting brackets to support the upcoming processors. If you are upgrading to Intel 12th Gen, then in most cases, all you'll need to do is provide proof of purchase and you'll get new mounting hardware sent out to you at no charge.

On the Phanteks side, all Glacier One AIO liquid coolers are eligible for the mounting kit upgrade. The list is significantly longer for be quiet! with supported coolers including:

  • Dark Rock Pro 4
  • Dark Rock 4
  • Dark Rock Slim
  • Dark Rock TF 2
  • Shadow Rock 3
  • Shadow Rock Slim 2
  • Shadow Rock LP
  • Pure Rock 2
  • Pure Rock
  • Silent Loop 2 (not available in the USA)
  • Pure Loop

Both companies stated they will start shipping the kits in November. In the future, Phanteks and be quiet! coolers will include all the accessories to mount the cooler on Intel LGA1700 sockets. Phanteks owners will want to head over to the official website and contact support to claim their mounting kit. For be quiet!, you'll want to head over to their dedicated LGA1700 page and fill out the form, HERE.

Phanteks has not one, but two big launches today. Not only are we seeing the release of the T30-120 cooling fans, aiming to be the best 120mm fans on the market, but Phanteks is also launching the new Glacier One 240 T30 AIO liquid cooler.

Developed in collaboration with SUNON, the new Phanteks T30-120mm fan incorporates liquid crystal polymer material to achieve “unprecedented cooling performance and acoustics”. The fan thickness has been increased to 30mm and the fan blades are now 25 percent larger, resulting in higher airflow performance and a better noise to airflow ratio. This is all done with just 0.5mm clearance between the fan blade and the inner frame, which reduces turbulence and further improves noise output.

These fans will be available separately, but they'll also be shipping with the new Glacier One 240 T30 AIO liquid cooler. Utilising a thicker 38mm radiator, this cooler aims to deliver the performance you would expect from a 360mm AIO cooler, but in a smaller 240mm package.

Other features of the cooler include flexible braided tubing, Tube Clips for routing cables, and support for most major sockets all the way up to Threadripper. D-RGB lighting is included and Intel's upcoming LGA Socket 1700 will be supported at release through Phanteks' customer service.

The Phanteks T30-120 fan will be available as a single unit, or in a triple pack, for £25.99 or £74.99 respectively. The Glacier One 240 T30 cooler will be available for £149.99 via Overclockers UK.

Phanteks is about to expand the Glacier One AIO liquid cooler series with a 360mm white coloured model. Featuring 3x 120mm fans and a PWM pump, the Glacier One 360MPH AIO liquid cooler provides “sufficient cooling for an advanced modern system”.

The 360mm aluminium dual radiator of the Glacier One 360MPH AIO liquid cooler has a fin density of 21FPI (fins per inch), providing an area large enough for cooling in a relatively compact form factor.

Thanks to the Intelligent protection mechanism, the PWM pump (Asetek Gen7) can reach speeds as high as 2,800RPM, but once the coolant exceeds 60°C, it can ramp it up to 3,600RPM. The tubing is sleeved and has sets of clips so users can position and route it through the system more conveniently.

The three 120mm fans included in the package offer a static pressure of up to 60.5CFM thanks to its large blades. Using daisy-chain cables, the fans can rotate at the same speed without the cabling get tangled up with other components.

Both the fans and pump cover have RGB lighting, the pump cover also features an ‘infinity mirror'. Packing a total of 14 D-RGB LEDs, users may synchronise with their systems using an RGB controller or the motherboard RGB software.

The cooler can be mounted on Intel LGA 1150, 1151, 1155, 2011, 2011-V3, AM4, 2066, 1156, 1200, and 1700 and AMD AM4, sTRX4, and TR4 (bracket not included) sockets. You can pre-order the Glacier One 360MPH now at OverclockerUK for £189.95.

The £65 price of the Phanteks Eclipse P200A D-RGB deserves some attention as it includes a pair of Phanteks SK 120mm PWM D-RGB fans that retail for £14 each. We often moan and complain when case manufacturers cheap out on the fans by offering 3-pin models, and here we have Phanteks going the whole hog with PWM and D-RGB in a budget case.

That gets us off to a good start, however we immediately run into a bit of a conundrum. When you have a Mini-ITX chassis with a volume of 30 litres it is certainly compact but it comes nowhere near our expectations for Mini-ITX. As a passing thought, the front I/O connections are down at the bottom  of the chassis so we are confident your completed PC is likely to live on your desk, rather than down on the floor, so the size is certainly something to consider.

As you can see in our video, building a PC inside the Phanteks Eclipse P200A D-RGB is fairly straightforward, with just a little of the expected Mini-ITX fiddle. The ATX power supply lives in the roof and has unusual cable routing, however that presents no major problems. Your Mini-ITX/Mini-DTX motherboard sits in a recessed motherboard tray that is a very close fit. Our chosen Gigabyte Z590I Aorus Ultra motherboard uses adapters for the fans headers and USB 2.0 that required some careful routing to be sure we had plenty of room in the side location for the Phanteks 240mm AIO.

Cooling Performance Overview

We tested the Phanteks Eclipse P200A D-RGB by running a loop of 3DMark's Time Spy Stress Test for 20 minutes. As we explain in our video, the Core i7-11700K draws 195W and CPU temperature changes significantly as we ramped the fan speed up and down. Clearly this is an extreme test in a relatively small chassis but it demonstrates that the Phanteks Eclipse P200A is capable of flowing air, but requires a sensible number of fans running at an appropriate speed.

This was particularly true for our graphics card which was running 5 or perhaps 10 degrees hotter than we like to see. It feels to us that it might be helpful to squeeze some slender 120mm fans in the tight space between our mighty RX 6800 XT and the floor of the case.

Closing Thoughts

In general we like Phanteks Eclipse cases and they tend to score well in reviews as they combine clever design with solid construction at a low price.

We confidently predict that once you have seen the Eclipse perforated steel front panel in action you will never settle again for a case with a choked front panel. The Phanteks Eclipse P200A D-RGB came close to spoiling our warm feelings as it has a number of familiar features, however it is a large 30 litre chassis that uses a Mini-ITX motherboard, and that takes us into unknown territory. In addition the layout of the case is unconventional with a completely open interior and the power supply at the top, rather than the bottom.

There doesn't seem to be an obvious reason for moving the power supply within the case and we get the impression it is different for the sake of being different. Clearly it means the power supplies cables are routed in an unusual way and in particular where we usually curse the EPS cable for being so short, here we had plenty of cable to tuck away.

And yet Phanteks has saved the day by pricing the basic Eclipse P200A Performance at a mere £45 and this D-RGB version at £65, which is a similar level to the Eclipse P300A and P360A. In other words, Phanteks has a significant array of Eclipse models that each offer thoughtful design and pleasant aesthetics along with killer value for money.

Adding an ITX chassis to this product range means you can approach pretty much any build asking ‘Which Phanteks Eclipse should I buy?' rather than ‘Should I use a Phanteks Eclipse?' and that subtle change makes a world of difference.

The Phanteks Eclipse P200A D-RGB will not prove suitable for everyone but it absolutely has its place and deserves due consideration.

Pros:

  • Very low price.
  • We love the Eclipse perforated steel front panel.
  • Phanteks ARGB system works superbly well.
  • Quirky looks with the open interior and PSU in the roof.

Cons:

  • Relatively large for an ITX chassis at 30 litres.
  • Graphics temperature is rather high.
  • The P200A could use a rear fan.
  • Cable routing for graphics power is awkward.

KitGuru says: You know you have to make compromises with Mini-ITX so we won’t pretend the Phanteks P200A is perfect, but it is pretty darned good.
