Each month, those who are subscribed to Amazon Prime are privy to a number of free games as part of the company’s Prime Gaming initiative. For the month of December, subscribers can get their hands on a decent selection of titles, headlined by Arkane Lyon’s much-loved DEATHLOOP.

Available to add to your library throughout the month, December’s line-up of free titles is as follows:

  • DEATHLOOP (Epic Games Store) – 7th of December
  • Akka Arrh (Amazon Games App) – 14th of December
  • Aground (Amazon Games App) – 14th of December
  • SeaOrama: World of Shipping (Amazon Games App) – 14th of December
  • Kombinera (Epic Games Store) – 21st of December
  • A Tiny Sticker Tale (Amazon Games App) – 28th of December
  • Asteroids: Recharged (Epic Games Store) – 28th of December

The headlining title for December is undoubtedly DEATHLOOP. Developed by Arkane Lyon (of Dishonored 2 fame) this 2019 game represents the first title from the studio to release exclusively on current-gen platforms.

Additionally, while the sentiment toward DEATHLOOP has somewhat cooled since its release, the game received near-universal praise at launch, with particular flowers being given towards its art direction and overall style/presentation.

As with each month, you can also get your hands on dozens of in-game items across a bunch of titles including League of Legends; Apex Legends; COD Warzone; Hearthstone; Cyberpunk 2077; Diablo IV; and Overwatch 2 – to name just a few.

Epic Games has managed to keep players engaged with Fortnite through a number of means, including but not limited to offering a whole host of crossover skins. The team has now teased next Season’s Battle Pass, including the fact that Optimus Prime will be unlockable.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Fortnite page teased some of the character skins that will be made available with the next Season (known as Fortnite WILDS). By far the most interesting inclusion is that of Optimus Prime.

Undoubtedly added to correlate with the new Transformers film, Optimus Prime looks to be shrunken down in order to scale with the rest of the character models – making for a slightly odd appearance, especially when standing next to other skins.

Still, the Optimus skin itself looks to be based on the new Transformers: Rise of the Beasts film – a design which has seemed to resonate with fans. So even if shrunken down Optimus is a bit weird, many fans will undoubtedly be excited by his inclusion.

It will be interesting to see what the character’s ancillary accessories end up being. Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 ‘WILDS’ will begin on the 9th of June.

KitGuru says: What do you think of the skin? Are you a Transformers fan? Who is your favourite character? Let us know down below.

Back in May of this year we reported that a God of War TV show was in the works at Amazon for its Prime Video service. At the time, little else was known. Finally, Amazon has officially announced the project, revealing that “God of War is coming.”

Discussing the announcement that a God of War TV show is on its way, Vernon Sanders, head of global television at Amazon Studios, said (via The Hollywood Reporter) “God of War is a compelling, character-driven franchise that we believe will captivate our global customers as much with its expansive and immersive worlds as its rich storytelling. We are honored to share in the adventure of exploring the God of War mythology in such a momentous way with Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions and Santa Monica Studio.”

The show has been in development for over 9 months now and will follow the plot of 2018’s God of War, with the show’s description reading as follows:

“When his beloved wife dies, Kratos sets off on a dangerous journey with his estranged son to spread her ashes from the highest peak — his wife’s final wish. Kratos soon realizes the journey is an epic quest in disguise, one which will test the bonds between father and son, and force Kratos to battle new gods and monsters for the fate of the world.”

It will be interesting to see how faithful the show will be to the games, or whether it will deviate to include cut content and more. We will have to wait and see. Fortunately, the God of War TV show will have many familiar faces from Sony Santa Monica attached as Executive Producers, including Cory Barlog, Yumi Yang and Jeff Ketcham – so the show is hopefully in good hands.

Each month, those who are subscribed to Amazon Prime are privy to a number of free games as part of the company’s Prime Gaming initiative. While December’s free titles have long been available, in a surprise announcement, Amazon has revealed that 10 more games will be dropping before the end of the year.

Making the announcement on their blog, Chris Leggett of Prime Gaming said “We know, we know: we’ve already offered a bunch of fun games and in-game content to Prime Gaming members this month. But we’re feeling festive and want to treat our members even further. From December 27 through January 3, Prime Gaming will help members to hit pause and start playing this holiday season by offering multiple free PC games.”

The headlining title being included is undoubtedly Arkane Studios’ Dishonored 2, though all the games being added are worth a look:

  • Dishonored 2
  • Metal Slug
  • Metal Slug X
  • Metal Slug 3
  • Real Bout Fatal Fury
  • The King of Fighters 2003
  • The Last Blade
  • The Last Blade 2
  • Twinkle Star Sprites
  • SNK 40th Anniversary Collection

As mentioned, you can currently get your hands on early December’s offerings, which includes Quake; Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons; Spinch; Doors: Paradox and Banners of Ruin.

December was initially a relatively weak month for Prime Gaming, but the surprise inclusion of nearly a dozen extra titles more than makes up for it.

Sonic the Hedgehog has had many TV shows over the years, ranging greatly in tone, scope and quality. Though it has been a while since the last Sonic show, the Blue Blur is returning to the medium, with the Sonic Prime Netflix show announced to be coming in December.

Back in early 2021, it was announced that Netflix was working on a new Sonic the Hedgehog TV show called Sonic Prime. Little was known at the time, but concept art did suggest that the show would involve some form of dimension hopping.

Now, the studio has released a much more comprehensive trailer, showcasing new character designs, details of the show’s plot, and more, including the show’s release date and cast list.

Launching on Netflix on the 15th of December 2022, Sonic Prime features:

  • Deven Mack as Sonic
  • Brian Drummond as Eggman
  • Ashleigh Ball as Tails
  • Shannon Chan-Kent as Amy Rose
  • Adam Nurada as Knuckles
  • Ian Hanlin as Shadow & Big the Cat
  • Kazumi Evans as Rouge the Bat

Fans of the series will note that this represents a whole new cast of voice actors, but with one familiar face – Brian Drummond. Though he has been cast as Eggman in Sonic Prime, Drummond originally voiced Sonic the Hedgehog himself during the Adventure Era of the franchise.

Sonic is now being voiced by three different people concurrently, with Roger Craig Smith playing Sonic in the games, Ben Schwartz voicing Sonic in the films, and now Deven Mack as Sonic in Prime.

Last month with the launch of Ryzen 7000, we also saw the release of new X670 and X670E motherboards. Now as we head into October, more affordable options are starting to be announced. Today, Asus introduces four new B650 motherboard families, and NZXT has also announced the new N7 B650E.

The B650 and B650E motherboards support the new AM5 socket, giving you a perfect starting point for putting together a new Ryzen 7000 powered system. The platform also supports new standards like PCIe 5.0 and DDR5, so you'll be well prepared for the new generation of PC hardware.

Asus's line-up of B650 motherboards starts with the ROG Strix line, which are gaming-first motherboards, rather than boards focused on enthusiast-level overclocking and performance. From the flagship ROG Strix B650E-E Gaming WiFi to the compact-yet-mighty ROG Strix B650E-I Gaming WiFi, these boards bring high-end features to full-sized gaming rigs, and smaller, compact PCs.

As you would expect, there is also a range of TUF Gaming motherboards from Asus, offering DDR5 memory slots and a PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD slot for even faster speeds. Asus will also have new ProArt and Prime series B650 motherboards available, which are geared more towards productivity and creative users. Each Asus B650 motherboard has a PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot, so you can save some money over X670, but not miss out on one of the biggest platform upgrades AM5 brings.

As for NZXT, they are keeping things simple with just one motherboard – the N7 B650E, which packs all the latest features you'll want in a Ryzen 7000 series system. this includes 16+2+1 power phase design with 90A Smart Power Stage to provide a stable current for overclocking, a full motherboard faceplate to cover up the PCB, three M.2 SSD slots, an integrated I/O shield and WiFi 6E wireless and Bluetooth V5.2.

Just one of those M.2 SSD slots is PCIe 5.0, while the other two are PCIe 4.0.

We don't have retail pricing just yet, but based on X670 motherboard pricing, we would expect to see B650 motherboards occupying the £150 to £250 price bracket.

A new generation of Intel processors is upon us, and with it, there are a ton of new motherboards ready to be paired with the latest CPUs. MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, NZXT, and EVGA have introduced new products, giving plenty of options for choosing the perfect motherboard for your system.

All motherboard partners have introduced at least two models. MSI and Asus, however, went into full throttle mode, each launching over ten models, including ITX motherboards for SFF fans and E-ATX boards for those looking for a vast feature set. At the moment, only Asus has introduced an M-ATX motherboard.

Starting with MSI, the company's MEG series will include the E-ATX Z790 Godlike and ATX Z790 Ace models. Featuring up to 26+2 power phase design with 105A SPS, MSI beefed up its VRM cooling system with an all-aluminium cover under a Wavy Fin Array-design and a U-Shape VRM heatsink with direct touch heat pipes and 7W/MK thermal pads. The Godlike model also features Lightning Gen 5.0 PCIe slots and Gen 5 M.2 support, and a new M-Vision dashboard with a 4.5-inch screen.

MSI's MPG series will include four models: MPG Z790 Carbon WIFI, MPG Z790 Edge WIFI, MPG Z790 Edge WIFI DDR4 and Mini-ITX MPG Z790I Edge WIFI. With up to 19+1+1 power phases, extended heatsinks with heat pipes, and Lightning Gen 5.0 PCIe connectivity, The ATX motherboards will have five M.2 slots, while the Mini-ITX models only have three M.2 slots.

For now, the Z790 Tomahawk WIFI DDR5 and DDR4 models are the only MSI MAG series board. Packing 16+1+1 DRPS power phase design with 90A SPS and dual-8 pin CPU power connectors, the Tomahawk boards have all it needs to become the go-to solution for most gamers. Lightning Gen 5.0 PCIe slot, 2.5G LAN and WiFi 6E solution are also supported.

The MSI PRO series will be at the lower bottom tier, but don't let that fool you. They'll still feature up to 16+1+1 DRPS power phase VRM design, Lightning Gen 5.0 PCIe slot, M.2 Shield Frozr heatsinks, 2.5G LAN, WiFi 6E, and Lightning USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C support. Initially, MSI will launch over six PRO series boards, including DDR5 and DDR4 versions, as well as WiFi and non-Wi-Fi models.

Like MSI's line-up, Asus also has a lot of options for anyone planning to get a 13th Gen core chip. At the top of the hierarchy, we have the E-ATX ROG Maximus Z790 Extreme and the ATX Maximus Z790 Hero. A quick look at the former shows that it stands a cut above the rest, featuring massive heatsinks, 24+1 power phase design, full cover design and a display on top of the VRM heatsink. However, the Z790 Hero doesn't stray too much from the Extreme model, with its RGB lighting in the PMMA nameplate placed on top of the VRM heatsink, bundled ROG Hyper M.2 add-in card capable of supporting two additional M.2 SSDs (one PCIe 5.0 and one PCIe 4.0), and a 20+1 teamed power stage configuration.

Just below the ROG Maximus, we have the ROG Strix gaming boards. Overall, they're intended to be cut-down versions of the flagship models, with PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots and PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, WiFi 6E connectivity, sizable heatsinks, Thunderbolt 4 support, and 2.5G LAN ports. There will be four Strix models, including the ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming WiFi, ROG Strix Z790-F Gaming WiFi, ROG Strix Z790-A Gaming WiFi D4, and ROG Strix Z790-I Gaming WiFi (mini-ITX).

The TUF Gaming series will likely remain a popular solution amongst PC builders, thanks to its comprehensive feature set and lower price point. The 16+1 DrMOS power stages should be enough to handle even the most power-demanding 13th Gen Core chips, but the lack of DDR5 memory suggests you won't likely pair a Core i9-13900K with such boards. The TFU Gaming series will only have two models, both only supporting DDR4 memory. These models are the TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi D4 and the TUF Gaming Z790-Plus D4 boards.

The Prime series is once again the entry-level for Asus, but the Prime Z790-A WiFi may prove to be quite interesting. Supporting DDR5 memory, WiFi 6E, 2.5G LAN, and every other essential you expect from a mid-range board, the Z790-A could be seen as the DDR5 alternative to the TUF Gaming DDR4 models. In addition to this model, there will also be the M-ATX Prime Z790M-Plus D4 (only M-ATX board introduced) and four Prime Z790-P (D4 WiFi and non-WiFi and D5 WiFi and non-WiFi).

Gigabyte is also preparing a set of motherboards for the 13th Gen Core chips. The Aorus series will include the Z790 AORUS XTREME, Z790 AORUS MASTER, Z790 AORUS ELITE, and Z790 AORUS TACHYON. Similar to other high-end motherboards, these will have VRM designs with up to 20+1+2 phases, a complex cooling system, and various advanced connectivity options. Moreover, they will also feature SMD memory slots with a metal shielding mask to avoid interferences and 8-layer PCBs with +2oz copper, 12W/mK thermal pads, and up to DDR5-7600 memory support.

Besides the Aorus gaming motherboards, Gigabyte will also launch the creator-oriented Z790 Aero motherboard. Gigabyte hasn't given any details about this specific motherboard, but considering its target, expect a comprehensive set of connectivity options matching even the higher-end boards. However, don't expect it to have the same level of VRM topology or cooling system as the flagship boards. All these Gigabyte boards are scheduled to launch on October 20th.

NZXT has also unveiled the new N7 Z790 motherboard. The 16+1+2 DrMOS Power Phase Design with 2oz Copper PCB  should be enough for most cases, but what makes this motherboard stand out from the rest are its looks (black or white) and integration with NZXT CAM software. NZXT's new motherboard also supports WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, but DDR5 memory support is limited to DDR5-6000. The NZXT motherboard will come out sometime in Q4 2022 for $299.99.

Lastly, we have two high-end EVGA motherboards. The EVGA Z790 Classified has the same layout as its predecessor, which gave a 90º turn to the left, placing the memory slots above the CPU socket. Supporting up to 128GB of DDR5-6800 memory, PCIe Gen5 and PCIe Gen4 M.2 NVMe SSDs, 10G LAN, WiFi 6E, BT 5.2, and multiple USB options, EVGA's new Classified is no slouch. The 19-phase VRM design and 12-layer PCB are also nice additions but still overkill for most users out there.

Then, there's the EVGA Z790 DARK K|NGP|N with a 14-layer low-loss PCB and a 21-phase VRM configuration. Targeted at the most-demanding enthusiasts, it supports up to 64GB (2x slots) DDR5-7000MHz+ and packs multiple USB interfaces, 8x SATA 6Gb/s ports, and 10Gbps and 2.5Gbps NICs supporting WiFi 6E and BT 5.2. Like the Z790 Classified, it has the same rotated socket design, reducing memory latency and improving cable management options.

The success of films such as Detective Pikachu and Sonic the hedgehog has proven that video game IPs are ripe for adaptation into other mediums. Two currently hot properties – Disco Elysium and Life is Strange – are now getting turned into TV shows.

As reported by Deadline, Amazon Studios has struck a deal with dj2 Entertainment which will see the production company adapt the Life is Strange franchise, as well as 2019’s surprise hit Disco Elysium into TV shows exclusively for the company's Amazon Prime TV service.

This isn’t the first game franchise to be turned into a different medium by dj2 Entertainment. The previously-mentioned Sonic the Hedgehog film was co-produced by dj2 – with them also working on the upcoming sequel. Furthermore, the company also previously announced their intentions to bring Josef Fares’ It Takes Two to TV.

Discussing the most recent announcements, dj2 Entertainment said “The dj2 team has long believed that video games would one day serve as incredible source material for stories told in television and film, and that it was only the lack of love and respect for the artform which previously held successful adaptations back.”

Regarding the scope of these projects, dj2 claimed that “it is truly an honor to have Prime Video as our platform partner. A partner who truly supports us, as well as our grand ambitions, for telling the best international gaming stories with no limitations in how high we may collectively aim.”

Multimedia adaptations of video game IPs are currently part of the zeitgeist. It will be interesting to see how long this lasts; whether we will reach a point of oversaturation; and – as claimed by dj2 – whether these projects will be given the time, money and creativity needed to become a success.

While many Metroid fans continue to wait for the long-anticipated Metroid Prime 4, others simply want a way to play the previous games using modern systems. At least when it comes to the first game, Nintendo fans may soon get their wish, as the leaked Metroid Prime HD is said tobe coming later this year.

Industry insider Nate the Hate recently dumped a load of new rumours into the gaming ether, where he revealed not only that Persona 4 Golden is coming to Switch and PlayStation; and that Persona 6 will be exclusive to the PS5; but also that the Metroid Prime HD remaster will launch in the 2nd half of 2022.

According to Nate, this release is intended to coincide with the game’s 20th anniversary, and so will also be positioned as a headlining release later this holiday season. What this means for PRime 2 and 3 is unknown.

Initial rumours claimed that a remaster of all three games would be coming to the Switch as a collection ahead of Metroid Prime 4’s release. Since then, it seems the scope of the remaster has gone down, with only the first game in the sub-series now being re-released.

As this launch is said to coincide with the game’s 20th anniversary, it will be interesting to see whether Nintendo has any plans for Prime 2 and 3 – perhaps also during their anniversary years.

Metroid Prime was the game that started it all, and so if only one were to get remastered, it is the natural choice. Even so, hopefully Nintendo does in fact have plans to remaster all three games. We will have to wait and see.

November is looking to be the service’s best month yet, with Control Ultimate Edition, Dragon Age and more all for free.

November’s free Prime games have now been announced:

  • Control Ultimate Edition
  • Dragon Age Inquisition
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • Brakes Are For Losers
  • Demon Hunter 2: New Chapter
  • Liberated
  • Puzzle Agent 2
  • Rogue Heroes
  • Secret Files: Sam Peters

By far the headlining title is Control Ultimate Edition. Originally released back in 2019, Control Ultimate Edition comes with both of the game’s DLC included, letting you experience the latest and greatest from the creative minds at Remedy Entertainment.

The other major titles included are Dragon Age Inquisition and Rise of the Tomb Raider. While both of these games are getting on in their years now, each of these titles offer high quality experiences. Dragon Age Inquisition is still the latest game in the franchise to this day, and Rise of the Tomb Raider is the highest rated game in the rebooted Lara Croft Trilogy.

You still have a few more days to claim October’s Prime Games, namely Star Wars: Squadrons; Ghostrunner and Alien: Isolation.

Ever since the Nintendo Switch was first announced, one of the most requested ports was that of the Metroid Prime trilogy. For years now we have heard rumours of its existence, though Nintendo has yet to confirm anything. According to an insider however, fans may finally be able to play the first of the trilogy on Switch in 2022.

Ahead of the upcoming Nintendo Direct – which is set to take place later today – fans have been making their wishlists, hoping for certain games to be announced. In response to one fan who asked for “Metroid Prime Trilogy HD,” Nintendo insider Emily Rogers gave some encouraging news.

According to Rogers “Last I heard, Nintendo was busy working on Metroid Prime 1 to celebrate the game's 20th anniversary in 2022.”

Of course, there is currently not one but three games in the series (with a fourth on the way), but as claimed by Rogers “I'm not sure if we're getting a ‘trilogy' or just a re-release of the first game. I'm leaning toward the latter, but I hope we get the former.”

Metroid Prime 1 and 2 released on both the Nintendo Wii as well as the GameCube. Prime 3 meanwhile was a Wii exclusive, meaning that controls were heavily focused on using motion. While we have seen motion-focused Wii exclusives make their way onto the Switch, it does require a greater deal of effort from Nintendo.

With fans having asked for so long to see the Metroid Prime Trilogy come to Switch, it would be disappointing if only the first game was to make its way over. That is of course unless the game is being wholly remade for the system, in which case this makes much more sense. Either way, hopefully the entire trilogy is available on the Switch before the release of Metroid Prime 4.

Earlier today Leo stopped by Seasonic's booth on the show floor in Nangang. He got to see three new ranges of power supply, while also taking another look at Seasonic Connect. As ever, Seasonic was also showcasing a range of mods powered by their Prime PSUs.

First things first, Seasonic was exhibiting its new 1600W power supply unit with 80+ Titanium efficiency. We saw this in prototype form last year, but it is now almost ready for release. Very few people would actually need this much wattage, but if you are an extreme overclocker or running some kind of high-power server, a power supply that can deliver this much power – at 94% efficiency levels – might be of interested.

Next to that we saw a range of new fanless PSUs, also with Titanium certification. We've already reviewed the 600W Prime Titanium Fanless, but this new model steps things up as it is rated for 700W. This might not sound like a huge leap forward – but considering the sheer amount of engineering required to create a fanless power supply, moving from 600W to 700W is no mean feat. A 500W Platinum fanless model was also on show, targeting the user who still wants a top-quality PSU, but won't need the extra wattage or efficiency that the 700W Titanium model can offer.

Rounding out our look at new power supplies, Leo also looked at the STX-800. This is a new SFX unit – Titanium certified – but the main thing is offering 800W in the smaller SFX form-factor. This means you are really not at all limited when it comes to building a high-end rig with a small footprint, as 800W would be enough for pretty much any CPU/GPU combination on the market.

Seasonic Connect was another piece of hardware that Leo stopped to look at – this debuted last year under the ‘System Cable Management Device', but it is now nearing release and has been named ‘Connect'. It's the same principle as we saw last year, though, as Connect is essentially a distribution plate for your power cables. A short power cable links Connect to your PSU, and then you attach the required 24-pin, 8-pin etc cables to Connect itself – making cable management a lot easier. This is due for release very shortly.

Lastly, we also a number of show builds, including the Quasar – designed to look like something out of Star Wars. Stuart Tonks also had a couple of systems on show – one with a white and blue theme, designed around a Seasonic Snow Silent PSU, while there was also another system called  ‘Connect Prime'. This was built with hardline tubing, with a Connect round the back, and I have to say it looks fantastic.

KitGuru says: I've always been intrigued by fanless power supplies, so it's good to see Seasonic continue to develop this market segment.

Yesterday, AMD officially launched the B450 chipset for Ryzen. This isn't the most exciting launch in the world, as B450 shares a lot in common with both B350 and X470. However, it does provide a new option for those looking to build a low cost Ryzen PC. Now, partners are starting to unveil their B450 motherboard line-ups, with seven new boards coming from Asus.

We went into depth on B450 and talked a bit about some of the new motherboard options in our preview yesterday, which you can find HERE. While those opting for a higher-end Ryzen 7 processor will likely stick to X470, if you are looking to save some cash on a Ryzen 3 or Ryzen 5 system, then B450 is positioned well for you.

Asus has seven B450 motherboards to kick things off with. Below, you'll find a list of each motherboard along with its suggested retail price here in the UK:

  • ROG Strix B450-I Gaming – £159.99.
  • ROG Strix B450-F Gaming – £119.99.
  • TUF B450-PLUS Gaming – £97.99.
  • TUF B450M-PLUS Gaming – £87.99.
  • PRIME B450-PLUS – £92.99.
  • PRIME B450M-A – £74.99.
  • PRIME B450M-K – £69.99.

The B450 chipset will get you access to many of the features found in X470, including overclocking. However, it does limit you to 1×16 PCIe slot, with no option of 2×8, which means you'll need to rule SLI or CrossFire out of the equation.

KitGuru Says: Considering you can pick up a B350 motherboard and a Ryzen 5 processor for less than the cost of a Core i7, I imagine this chipset will end up becoming quite popular. Are any of you planning to build a new PC soon? Are you leaning towards going with Intel or AMD?

Today, AMD peeled back the curtain and began sharing information on its 2nd Gen Ryzen processors, bringing along refined architecture, some improved features and the new X470 motherboard chipset. We've already gone into detail on the processors, HERE. This article will focus on some of the new X470 motherboards hitting the market, including ASUS's ROG, Prime and TUF Gaming series.

Ryzen brought a breath of fresh air to the CPU market last year, and AMD is hoping to keep the pressure on in 2018. ASUS is supporting the next generation of Ryzen processors with a new slate of X470 motherboards. At launch, Asus will have six new motherboards, the ROG Crosshair VII Hero and its WiFi-enabled twin lead the lineup with a stealthy design and extra overclocking features. This is followed by the ROG Strix X470-F and its Mini-ITX brother, the Strix X470-I, which offer easy tuning for the core PC gaming market. The ROG boards all support DDR4 speeds over 3466MHz via overclocking with the exception of the Strix X470-I, which caps out at 3466MHz.

The ROG boards also support 2-way SLI and 3-way CrossFire GPU configurations, once again with the exception of the X470-I, as its form factor only allows for one GPU.

Do note, if you can't see the gallery above, then you may need to disable Adblock. This has been known to interfere with our gallery tool.

Outside of the ROG realm are two additional motherboards, the Asus Prime X470-PRO and the TUF X470- Plus Gaming. Both of these boards come in the standard ATX form factor, with support for up to 64GB of DDR4 memory. The Prime board supports DDR4 speeds of over 3466MHz with overclocking, meanwhile the TUF board caps out at 3200MHz.

The Prime board supports SLI and CrossFire, meanwhile the TUF only supports AMD's CrossFire multi-GPU technology. All of Asus's new X470 motherboards come with either 6 (ATX) or 4 (M-ITX) SATA 6Gb/s ports and a M.2 32Gb/s slot.

ASUS's Aura Sync RGB lighting is supported on all motherboards across the X470 lineup, with dedicated RGB headers for additional LEDs.

The X470 lineup will begin shipping out on the 19th of April, one the same day as the new 2nd Gen Ryzen processors. We'll dive deeper into individual motherboard performance and capabilities when the time comes for reviews.

KitGuru Says: I've always been quite keen on ASUS's BIOS and motherboard design. I'll be looking forward to checking out reviews a little later on. Are any of you thinking about upgrading to a 2nd Gen Ryzen processor and X470 motherboard? What do you think of ASUS's new lineup?

By now, you've likely seen our coverage of Intel's new 8th Gen Coffee Lake processors for desktops, and the launch of three new 300-series chipsets. Now, the influx of new motherboards is starting to roll in, with Asus revealing new ROG Strix, Prime and TUF series motherboards for H370, B360 and H310.

In the ROG Strix series, we see the H370-F, H370-I, B360-F, B360-G, B360-H and B360-I motherboards joining the lineup, which you can see in the gallery above. All of these boards support USB 3.1 Gen 2 and there is optional support for 802.11ac WiFi, giving you some future-proofing in terms of connectivity and networking. All of these boards support Intel Optane Memory, which speeds up loading times on frequently used applications by acting as a speedy cache drive.

In the TUF Gaming and Prime series, we are greeted by the additions of the TUF H370-PRO Gaming, TUF B360-PRO, and Prime H370-Plus motherboards. The TUF series retains its military style, while the Prime series is geared more towards productivity and content creation.

All of the signature Asus features you would expect are present, including DIGI+ VRM circuitry, OptiMem trace routing for improved memory signalling and other smart features like the fan controller, which adjusts system fan speeds based on the temperature of your graphics card.

Asus will be rolling out its H370, B360 and H310 motherboards worldwide starting from today, so expect to see them popping up at retail over the next few days.

KitGuru Says: It has been six months since Coffee Lake first launched, but the lineup is finally complete. Are any of you thinking about upgrading to 8th Gen soon? Do you have your eye on one of these new motherboards in particular?

Ever since the Meltdown and Spectre revelations hit at the start of this year, security researchers have been working out the extent of the damage and the various ways it can be exploited in order to help with patch development. This week, experts from Nvidia and Princeton University managed to develop some exploits known as ‘SpectrePrime' and ‘MeltdownPrime'.

MeltdownPrime has yet to be used successfully against any real-world hardware. However, SpectrePrime was used to extract data from a MacBook equipped with an Intel Core-i7 processor. Both exploits work by targeting cache invalidation protocols to sneakily take data from a machine or applications using cache memory.

As the research paper states, these ‘Prime' exploits leverage “coherence invalidations” and enable “a Prime+Prove attack to achieve the same level of precision as a Flush+Reload attack and leak the same type of information”.

The code for these exploits has obviously been kept under wraps, as they were only made for behind the scenes testing. Security researchers often come up with their own exploits and then use that information to inform software or hardware providers so that they can fix the issue. This particular exploit for example, is already mostly protected against with the latest patches installed, which goes to show that updating regularly is important and should not be looked over.

KitGuru Says: So far, no malicious hackers have managed to take advantage of Spectre or Meltdown. On top of that, patches are being pushed out fairly regularly in order to keep everyone secure. There is always the potential for a malicious exploit to make its way out, but currently, the tech world seems to be on top of things.

If you are an avid CS:GO player and have some grievances with the matchmaking system, then you may be in luck as it looks like an overhaul has arrived. Yesterday, Valve pushed out a new matchmaking system known as ‘Trust Factor', replacing Prime Matchmaking, which takes into account more stats about each player.

With Prime Matchmaking, players had to tie their CS:GO account to their mobile phone number. Additionally, players had to reach level 21 before they could enter Prime competitive games. Valve now sees these restraints as prohibitive, so it is being replaced.

With ‘Trust Factor', CS:GO's matchmaking system will now take into account skill level, how much game time you have and how many times you've been reported for cheating or toxicity. There are other factors at play, but Valve won't be revealing the entire list as that would enable people to take advantage of the system.

One important factor will be how many other games you play in addition to CS:GO. Essentially, if you play a lot of other games, then you may be matched up with other ‘casual' CS:GO players, rather than veterans who dedicate larger chunks of their gaming time to Counter-Strike.

Trust Factor began rolling out yesterday, so you should start to see its effects fairly soon. As always, Valve will be monitoring community feedback and making changes where necessary,

KitGuru Says: There was a point in time where CS:GO was my main game but those days have since passed. Still, I'd be interested in jumping back in and seeing how this new matchmaking system changes things up. Do many of you still play CS:GO regularly? Have you had a chance to check out the new matchmaking system yet?

Caseking UK this week has announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Seasonic, bringing the esteemed power supply maker's entire range to the UK. This will be managed through Overclockers UK, which will now stock Seasonic's full range of power supplies for the UK market.

Seasonic has been around since 1975 and over the years, it has grown to become one of the best power supply makers on the market. We have reviewed plenty of Seasonic power supplies, each one getting high praise. We even have a showcase of Seasonic's 2017 range live on the site to help you make a buying decision.

Speaking about the distribution agreement, Overclockers UK Senior Product Manager, Glen Rhodes said: “We are very happy to introduce Seasonic into our portfolio of core brands. Seasonic are quite simply one of the best power supply brands available on the market today. With a class leading 12 year warranty on their Prime series for example, potential customers are safe in the knowledge that their Seasonic purchase will last them for a very long time, due to their use of superior components and technology compared to the competition.”

Over at Overclockers, you will now be able to pick up one of Seasonic's PRIME power supplies, or one of the newer Focus PSUs. All of Seasonic's supplies carry Platinum, Titanium or Gold efficiency ratings, so no matter which unit you decide to go with, it is going to be highly efficient.

KitGuru Says: I usually go with Seasonic whenever I'm building a new PC. The company's reputation for quality goes a long way, as does the 12 year warranty. Do many of you have experience with Seasonic? How do you rate them?

With Coffee Lake now on the way, it is time for motherboard makers to begin showing off their new Z370 offerings. This week, ASUS has begun showing off its new lineup for Intel’s 8th generation CPUs, including ROG, Prime and TUF gaming motherboards all on the way.

With Coffee Lake, Intel is adding more cores, larger caches and higher clock speeds to the equation. This also means power delivery improvements are on the way with Z370, which is why these new motherboards are required by the latest processors. As usual, the ASUS lineup is impressive, with diverse cast of 15 motherboards right off the bat, giving gamers a ton of choice when it comes to budget and form factor. You can see all of the different boards on the way in the gallery below:

Each of ASUS’s motherboard ranges are geared towards different markets. At the top of the pile, you have the flagship ROG Maximus X, which is geared towards high-end enthusiasts. For those with a lower budget, the ROG Strix motherboard carries many high-end features and will suit the needs of most gamers.

The Asus Prime series is geared towards everyday customisation and tuning, while the TUF series offers the most durability. These motherboards begin rolling out worldwide on the 5th of October. If you need help deciding which board is for you, then Asus have a handy buyers guide available to help.

KitGuru Says: Asus appears to be well prepared for Intel’s Coffee Lake rollout this week. Are any of you planning on upgrading? Are you leaning to any of Asus’s motherboards in particular?

It has been only a few days since we had a new Seasonic power supply in our labs for analysis. We have already looked at their 1200W and 1000W PRIME Platinum models in recent weeks, and today we analyse the 850W model. These power supplies are pure modular by design and feature low noise high grade Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) cooling fans.

At this point we have only good things to say about the new PRIME Platinum power supplies. If the 850 Watt supply holds true to form then Seasonic will have one of their most consistent releases in recent history. We don't expect anything dramatically different from this unit, but only after testing will we know.

Overclockers UK are already taking orders for the Seasonic PRIME 850W Platinum power supply – priced at £204.95 inc vat HERE. Yes, there is no arguing that these units are expensive, and this isn't even their highest specification 850 Watt model either. The PRIME Titanium 850 Watt costs £25 more, available at £229.99 inc vat HERE.

Seasonic is highly regarded as one of the best power supply makers in the world, with the current PRIME series offering impressive efficiency levels excellent efficiency levels and quality components. In fact, many of Seasonic's power supplies will last more than a few CPU and GPU generations, with that in mind, Seasonic wants to ensure customers that its supplies offer a long-term solution, which is why today the PRIME series warranty is being upgraded to last an industry-leading 12 years.

If you already own a Seasonic PRIME series power supply, then your factory warranty will be upgraded effective immediately. So when it's time to move on to a new build, you can bring your trusty power supply along with you.

In a statement from the Seasonic team, the company explained that this not only demonstrates confidence in the PRIME PSU range, but also shows appreciation for the customers buying them:

“Seasonic PRIME series power supplies will be upgraded from the current 10 years to an industry leading 12 years. This also includes all PRIME units that have already been sold prior to this date. This not only demonstrates the trust and belief in our own products but we also want to prove and show our appreciation to our customers for their support. We have their backs as they can change all their other components but the Seasonic power supply will just keep on working and will be protected with an exceptionally strong factory warranty.”

KitGuru Says: We are continuously impressed by Seasonic's power supplies when we get them in for review and it is easy to see why- particularly with this industry leading warranty in place. How many of you guys own a Seasonic power supply at the moment?  We will be reviewing a few more from the PRIME series quite soon, so stay tuned for that.

As great as many action recorders are, finding a truly hands-free option that still offers all of the bells and whistles can be a little tricky. This is where ORBI is stepping in with its new Prime sunglasses, the world's first 360° video-recording eyewear, designed for outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers to capture their most exciting moments in stitched 4K resolution.

The ORBI Prime glasses have just launched on IndieGoGo with a $75,000 goal, which has almost been reached already with just $4000 left to go at the time of writing. These glasses pair up four 1080p cameras mounted discreetly along the frame, offering 30 frames per second recording and a 4K resolution when stitched together. There is space for a replaceable 128GB microSD card, built-in WiFi, AAC stereo 48KHz audio capture, a 1000 mAh battery and micro-USB charging. Right now, the recording time is rated at around 90 minutes.

ib8hqkxj8cdcw1qq2qch

There are some other features to keep in mind, such as the UV protected polarised lenses, real-time image stabilisation and water resistant design. However, as with most crowd-funded efforts, the ORBI Prime won't be sent out for a while, with a current shipping date set for August 2017. Being the first of its kind, these glasses will also cost quite a bit with the official price being set at $499, though early backers can get it for $329 or $349 depending on just how early you are.

So how did this product come to life? Well according to ORBI co-founder and CEO, Iskander Rakhmanberdiyev, the company wanted to make something that “lets you capture your unique perspective with the world”. On top of that, ORBI saw a gap in the market, as many surveyed action camera users were after a “truly hands-free and high-quality option”. The ORBI Prime is designed to be sleek but incredibly powerful under the hood. Hopefully, it can live up to that when it eventually launches in 2017.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: While cameras aren't usually my strong suit, the idea of cramming all of that technology into a pair of sunglasses is incredibly interesting to me. Do any of you guys have much interest in video recording and camera setups? What do you think of ORBI's offering?
