Scythe has announced the release of the successor to the award-winning Fuma 2 CPU cooler. The Fuma 3 dual-tower CPU cooler builds upon the design of its predecessors with some optimisations, including a redesigned heatsink capable of dissipating more heat.

Standing at 154mm tall, the Fuma 3 is a high-performance CPU air cooler equipped with six nickel-plated heat pipes measuring 6mm in diameter. These heat pipes work in conjunction with a premium aluminium heatsink with an increased fin density array and a new asymmetrical design, resulting in improved thermal conductivity and enhanced cooling performance. Additionally, this design ensures better compatibility, even with Mini-ITX motherboards.

The advanced asymmetrical engineering incorporates a lifted offset design, allowing the Fuma 3 to fully access the RAM slot in the front bank without overhanging the VRM heatsink in the rear. This improvement means that the Fuma 3 offers more compatibility than most dual-tower CPU coolers.

Featuring Scythe's Kaze Flex II 120mm PWM fans, the Fuma 3 employs contra-rotational fans that offer excellent cooling performance while maintaining a moderate rotational speed range of 300–1500 RPM. This configuration caters to users seeking a balance between efficient cooling performance and a low-noise experience.

The Fuma 3 utilises Scythe's H.P.M.S. V (Hyper Precision Mounting System Version 5), the company's fifth-generation spring-loaded mounting system. This system ensures secure and optimal contact pressure on the CPUs, and it now supports full AM5 and Intel LGA 1700 compatibility. The Fuma 3 is now officially available in Southeast Asia and is available to pre-order in the US. US availability is expected to begin around 20th July.

Scyther has decided it was time to update the popular Kotetsu CPU air cooler. The Kotetsu Mark III has now been announced, featuring a redesigned heatsink with a top cover, a new mounting system, and a new fan.

The cooler has a compact heatsink with a dense array of 0.4mm aluminium fins and four 6mm diameter copper heat pipes connected to a nickel-plated copper 40x40mm base plate. On top of the heatsink, there's a sleek black top cover with an anodized brushed metal finish.

To cool the heatsink, the CPU cooler comes with a Kaze Flex II 120mm PWM fan (max. 1500RPM) with a maximum airflow of 67.62CFM and static pressure of 1.5mmH2O. The fan's improved frame design and anti-vibration rubber ensure low noise during operation. Furthermore, the cooler has Scythe's improved Retention System Ver. 5, making it compatible with various CPU sockets, including Intel LGA 1150, 1151, 1156, 1200 and 1700, and AMD AM4 and AM5.

The Kotetsu Mark III is 80mm deep and 154mm tall, offering 100% RAM clearance for your memory. Additionally, the optimised elevated asymmetrical design prevents the heat pipes from overhanging the VRM heatsink at the back for the latest motherboards.

Following the revamp of the Fuma 2, Scythe has now announced the Mugen 5 Rev C. Like the Fuma 2, the new Mugen 5 also features the new Kaze Flex II 120mm fan, which should bring improved thermals compared to the Rev B.

The Mugen 5 Rev C is much like the Rev B, featuring the same asymmetric heatsink designed to never obstruct the memory slots, allowing builders to use virtually any memory stick. Still, like any revision, there are some changes. The most noticeable is the new Kaze Flex II PWM, a 120mm fan with a 300-1500 RPM range capable of pushing up to 67.62CFM of air with a static pressure of 1.5mmH2O.

The other not-so-noticeable difference is the cooler compatibility. Like most recent coolers, the new Mugen 5 supports most Intel sockets, including the LGA 1700/1200/115X/2066 Square ILM/2011(V3) Square ILM. Moreover, it supports AMD AM4/AM3(+)/AM2(+)/FM2/FM1 sockets.

With a height of 154.5mm, the new Scythe CPU cooler should fit inside most cases, including some SFF chassis like the CoolerMaster NR200. The Mugen 5 Rev C is already available at Amazon US for $56.99, a $7 bump over the Rev B model's current pricing. The European market will receive it later because of a shipping delay, pushing the launch date to April 2022.

Scythe has announced a new version of its popular Mugen 5 CPU tower cooler, the Mugen 5 has seen many revisions of the design during its lifespan and this time around Scythe has updated the appearance with the Mugen 5 Black RGB Edition.

The latest revision of the Mugen 5 from Scythe features a black top cover plate with the traditional Mugen 5 chrome effect heat pipes poking through. Scythe has equipped the Mugen 5 Black RGB Edition with a high quality 120mm RGB fan from the company’s new Kaze Flex 120 RGB PWM series, for a more pronounced contrasting appearance.

Mugen 5 Black RGB Edition retains all the performance of the previous Mugen 5 Rev B with the addition of the added RGB fan, black fan frame, black fan noise-absorbing rubbers and a black top cover to enhance the appearance. The black accents provide a sharp contrast to the aluminium heatsink fins, along with the diamond-cut style Scythe logo on the top.

Scythe claims that even though the design has been changed, there has been no compromise on thermal performance and efficiency, so expect the Mugen 5 Black RGB Edition to perform just as well as the previous REV 5 version. The Black RGB Edition features 6 copper heat pipes, connected to a solid copper thermal transfer base plate, both the heat pipes and the base plate features a nickel-plated finish for a unified appearance.

The Kaze Flex fan that comes with the Mugen 5 Black RGB Edition features slight tweaks in appearance to previous Kaze Flex fans. The fan is capable of a wide operating speed range of 300 – 1200 RPM, it can be conveniently controlled thanks to PWM support and includes a liquid bearing design for an average lifespan of 120,000 hours.

Translucent fan blades offer rich lighting effects with integrated RGB illumination and can be controlled and synchronised via a standard motherboard 4-pin 5V RGB header. The Scythe Mugen 5 Black RGB Edition supports RGB sync software from leading motherboard manufacturers including Asus Aura Sync, ASRock Polychrome Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync and Gigabyte RGB Fusion.

The Scythe Mugen 5 Black RGB Edition is available to purchase now for €47.00 and is compatible with all major desktop processors including Intel sockets LGA775, LGA115x, LGA1366, LGA 2011 and LGA 2066 as well as the AMD sockets AM2(+), AM3(+), FM1, FM2(+) and AM4.

Another addition to Scythe's CPU cooler lineup has been announced. The Shuriken 2 SCSK-2000 is Scythe's latest low-profile Shuriken CPU cooler for those not looking for a standard air tower.

This top-down cooler comes equipped with a Kaze Flex 92mm Slim PWM fan, with a rated fan speed that starts as low as 200 RPM and goes up to 2500 RPM, using a 4-pin PWM input. It's capable of pushing from 4.96 up to 41.30 CFM of air, with a maximum noise output of 23.2dBA according to Scythe.

The heatsink comes with a nickel-plated copper base-plate that transfers the heat to a dense aluminium fin-stack through four heat pipes, each one being 6mm thick.

The cooler (fan + heatsink) measures 94 mm x 93 mm x 58 mm (WxDxH), and weighs 350g. The list of supported CPU socket types includes AM4 and LGA115x, and it can also handle up to a 100W TDP processor, as reported by TechPowerUp.

The Shuriken 2 SCSK-2000 will be available for purchase starting next month. The price of the cooler is yet to be revealed.
