KitGuru says: The BlackWidow V4 75% is one of the best keyboards Razer has ever made. Their focus on the core aspects of what delivers a great experience from a keyboard shines through in the end product. Their new 3rd generation mechanical switches feel great to type on and the stock stabilisers are much better than we've seen in previous ‘off the shelf' keyboards. Small finishing touches like the inclusion of tape on the bottom of the PCB and the use of a gasket mounting system as opposed to case mounting all combine to deliver a very nice keyboard that is a pleasure to use.  We would like to see a wireless, full aluminium version in the future.

Cherry is well known for its MX range of mechanical keyboard switches, often featuring on keyboards from other brands. However, Cherry also makes its own fully built keyboards. This week, Cherry is launching the KC 200 MX board, the first to keyboard to feature the company's all-new MX2A mechanical switches.

The MX2A switches are the latest switches from Cherry, featuring a gold crosspoint contact system that ensures accuracy and responsiveness. The KC 200 MX keyboard also boasts noise-reducing springs and premium-grade lubrication for smooth and silent typing. Other keyboard features include anti-ghosting and N-key rollover, providing a lag-free experience. Users can choose from various MX2A switches, including MX2A Silent Red and MX2A Brown, ready to withstand up to 100 million clicks.

The keyboard has two colour options: black/bronze and white/silver. It features an anodised aluminium plate and laser-etched ABS keycaps. The keyboard's snap-out feet are height-adjustable and sturdy, providing a solid foundation, while the four unique keys above the numeric pad provide quick access to the calculator app and volume settings. Built-in status LEDs for Caps, Scroll, and Num Locks provide instant visual indication for active functions.

For a more comfortable and relaxed typing experience, the keyboard can be used with Cherry's Palmrest Ergo. Moreover, you can also use the Cherry Keys software to customise the keyboard's function keys and create unique shortcuts. At $89.99, the KC 200 MX is an affordable option for those who want a premium typing experience without any unnecessary frills.

Sharkoon has recently announced the new Skiller SGK20 mechanical gaming keyboard. Combining a good feature set with an affordable price tag, the Sharkoon SGK20 has everything you need from a gaming keyboard.

Standing out from the other Sharkoon keyboards, the Skiller SGK20 features a complete 3-block layout with 105 keys. Despite its entire structure, the keyboard has an incredibly slender design and a rimless appearance, making it an excellent fit for any setup. The cable groove at the bottom of the keyboard allows you to hide the cable, completing the clean look.

The Skiller SGK20 boasts a 1,000Hz polling rate and Huano mechanical switches, making it a great choice for gamers. The red linear switches, which are typically preferred by gamers, allow for resistance-free usage without producing clicking sounds. On the other hand, frequent typists and casual gamers may opt for the variant with tactile brown switches with a discernible actuation point. Both types of switches have an operational life cycle of 20 million keystrokes.

The keyboard's accompanying software provides access to the complete feature set of the Skiller SGK20. The RGB illumination on the keyboard can be customised by changing the colour, intensity, or brightness or by choosing one of the 18 pre-programmed lighting effects. The selected customisation can then be stored in several lighting profiles. All additional features available in the software, including recorded macros, can be combined into one of up to 20 game profiles. A profile can then be selected to fit the game, genre, or job with just a few clicks.

The Sharkoon Skiller SGK20 is now available for just €39.90.

Drown has announced the “world's first tactile earphones for gaming”, and in an effort to describe the new product, the earphone manufacturer said that the device “activates all 3 audio pathways to your brain for enhanced situational awareness and a fully immersive audio experience.”

The third and final step is to create physical awareness through bone and cartilage conduction – which is how sound in the real world is felt and perceived. The earphones are compatible with anything “that has an audio jack”.

More information is available on Drown's website. The product initially launched on Indiegogo, and the earphones are expected to ship within the next week and are priced at £116.

It has been just over a year since we first got our hands on the Razer Huntsman Elite opto-mechanical keyboard. At launch, Razer included tactile switches but now, there is also an option for those that prefer a linear key switch instead.

The Razer Huntsman Elite is already an excellent mechanical gaming keyboard. However, razer has gone one step further by giving users the choice of faster, linear switches. The new optional linear switches will appeal to users who are looking for a smoother and quieter alternative over tactile, clicky switches.

This brings the Huntsman Elite more in-line with Razer's other mechanical keyboards, which offer a range of different switch options. For instance, the BlackWidow series has Razer Green clicky switches,  Razer Orange switches for those who prefer tactile feedback but don't like audible clicks and Razer Yellow switches for those who want to do away with tactile feedback entirely.

The Huntsman Elite is a little different from Razer's other mechanical keyboards though. Instead of using a traditional switch design, the Huntsman Elite uses optical sensors to eliminate the number of moving parts and send keypress signals to your PC at a faster rate. The purple switches are the clicky, tactile optical switches. Now, there are red switches too, which are linear, removing additional noise and tactile feedback.

The red switches are said to be Razer's fastest actuating switches yet due to the lack of ‘bump' in each key press, combined with an infrared light been that detects as soon as a key press is made.

Aside from key switch changes, the Razer Huntsman Elite remains the same in terms of design, offering dedicated media keys, a multi-functional dial, full Chroma RGB lighting and a padded wrist rest. Pricing is the same too, with the Razer Huntsman Elite costing £199.99 on Razer’s online store.

KitGuru says: A linear switch option was bound to arrive eventually and now, it is officially here. How many of you currently use a mechanical keyboard? Do you prefer tactile or linear switches?

One of the biggest drawbacks with touch screen input technology, is the fact that you have to look at it to figure out what you're pressing and for the very sensitive ones, it's hard to tell if you've touched something you didn't want to until it's too late. Disney of all companies has been working on a technology that it thinks will solve these hiccups, by providing tactile feedback to the toucher, by modulating the voltage going into an “electro vibration based display.”

[yframe url='https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zo1n5CyCKr0′]

These vibrations are designed to trigger the nerve endings in our fingers to offer the feeling of ridges, edges and troughs, thereby creating the potential for not only keyboard-like, virtual protrusions, but the ability to feel an object before buying it, or perhaps even offer a more… intimate, interaction over webcams.

While not Disney's original intention, this Oculus Rift porn game just got a lot more interesting

Some uses for the tech – according to Disney – include the conveying of height and depth on maps, interaction with 3D renderings and potentially providing blind people with the potential to augment their darkened reality, by having an on the move, tactile display that they can interact with.

KitGuru Says: Some interesting ideas brought forward with this technology. What sort of uses could you guys see it having?
